I like it somewhat. What I would do is also round off the top and bottom glass edges since that looks strange. I'd also cut out the weird haze/glare effects the designer put on the renders. Lastly, the screenshot on the home screen looks too saturated and just kind of strangetoo dark and bright in spots. What did he even do to make it do that? I'd fix that up and then the renders would look even better.
So would the display actually curve any at all or would only the glass? If you look closely at the second render, left corners, it looks like the display bends down unless that's an optical effect caused by the bent glass. But to bend the glass that much with a flat screen underneath (since it's just tapering) would require quite a thick glass layersomething I'm not sure Apple is prepared to do as they have continually tried to make glass and devices even thinner. Though glass that thick would be much strongerand heavier.
Does anyone with more engineering experience know if curved edges would lend strength to the glass if dropped on an edge? That is a current problem with the iPhone, and edge glass means more area exposed to impact. Looks kind of slippery too. I would love to go caseless next time around like I did with the original iPhone. I went caseless on my iPhone 5 for about a month as I was waiting for some good cases to be released. Chamfered edges got a few scratches even though I was being quite careful. Luckily my 5 was swapped out for a bad lock switch so it's pristine. But what's the point in having a case if it just covers it up? I used to tell myself resale value, but now I don't sell my iPhone every year. I might just get a 6 with AppleCare+ and not worry so much. Pretty much the only times I've ever "dropped" my iPhone is when it's in my lap and I get out of the car. But now that I have a proper mount that doesn't really happen.
