That is ugly. Hands down. Horrible rendering. Horrible interpretation of the leaked idea.

The gold at the bottom makes the phone look like it has a fat lip!

I like it somewhat. What I would do is also round off the top and bottom glass edges since that looks strange. I'd also cut out the weird haze/glare effects the designer put on the renders. Lastly, the screenshot on the home screen looks too saturated and just kind of strange—too dark and bright in spots. What did he even do to make it do that? I'd fix that up and then the renders would look even better.

So would the display actually curve any at all or would only the glass? If you look closely at the second render, left corners, it looks like the display bends down unless that's an optical effect caused by the bent glass. But to bend the glass that much with a flat screen underneath (since it's just tapering) would require quite a thick glass layer—something I'm not sure Apple is prepared to do as they have continually tried to make glass and devices even thinner. Though glass that thick would be much stronger—and heavier.

Does anyone with more engineering experience know if curved edges would lend strength to the glass if dropped on an edge? That is a current problem with the iPhone, and edge glass means more area exposed to impact. Looks kind of slippery too. I would love to go caseless next time around like I did with the original iPhone. I went caseless on my iPhone 5 for about a month as I was waiting for some good cases to be released. Chamfered edges got a few scratches even though I was being quite careful. Luckily my 5 was swapped out for a bad lock switch so it's pristine. But what's the point in having a case if it just covers it up? I used to tell myself resale value, but now I don't sell my iPhone every year. I might just get a 6 with AppleCare+ and not worry so much. Pretty much the only times I've ever "dropped" my iPhone is when it's in my lap and I get out of the car. But now that I have a proper mount that doesn't really happen.

It looks like soap

Apple is all about clean lines.

It really does not matter what it looks like. Knowing Apple it will be fragile as hell so most buyers will hide its looks in a case. I always have done with my phones.

I'd like to see a foreheadless and chinless all-screen face.
Where the whole face is pushing pixels.

Adverse reactions in 3... 2... 1...

gross

aahhhhhhhh

I'm bored with my 5s - I'm FOR a rounder version - and dare I say 4.7 as well. ?

The Touch ID scanner could be integrated into the screen, so the home button may disappear, either with the iPhone 6 of a future version.

I keep hearing people say this, but if that screen technology was available to incorporate Finger print id you don't think apple would have done it already?

Touch screens do not have the sensitive capability to read finger prints, at least not yet, and probably not for quite some time to come.

Yuck, I think. If this is accurate I see the problem as being that Apple will undoubtedly put some geeky tech in it that will compel me to upgrade.

Won't be a total heartbreaker, since I'm not in love with the 5/5S design, either. Still think the 4/4S was the most gorgeous phone ever built.

It looks ok, but I think the screen will distort the image at the curve edge...I don't know if this is some how an improvement or a need for us.

One thing I am for shore that this year I will switching back to the iPhone...android is not for me :)

Doubtful. Because didn't Apple spend all that money on the machines that make those fancy edges on the 5, 5S and iPad Air? It would make financial sense to keep using those for a little bit longer anyway.

I hope not. I hate the diamond cut chamfered edge, no matter how freaking cool that phrase sounds. :D

Rounded Corners

these predictions and renders are tasteless, the new iPhones (according to the design language that apple has been using) thinner, rounded edges a la iPad mini with 1 chamfered edge. In order to get something thinner whilst not massively affecting width, embellishments like rounded corners like the renders are not realistic

This just looks awful.

I could maybe tolerate the screen curving off at the edge, but what is that going to do to near-edge content?

What I could never abide are those horrific rolled corners for the inset glass pieces.

Wow, Martin Hajek actually made the iPhone look like a cheaply made plastic phone. Good job, Martin.
