Shhh! You’re only supposed to complain when it gets thinner. Why does the X look so thick in person?

Definitely a marketing move from Apple to appeal to her audience base, which I assume is Teens and younger.
Apple's true intentions are still unknown -- to you, to me, to everyone here. The pulling of the video in no way is evidence of Apple not authorizing the video. It's possible that pulling the video after the bait was taken was part of the plan from the start. We just do not know.
You can speculate as well as I and make your own conclusions. It doesn't make either of us wrong since it IS all speculation on our parts. If the facts ever come out then we can talk. But regardless, is Apple's security that lax that it would allow the unauthorized recording? I think not. Industrial spies are everywhere, even in plain sight. No way Apple allow taping on it's campus w/o it's permission. Do you disagree with that?
My initial and current appraisal of the video is based solely on what is happening on the video and by whom. I'm not sure how you can so blithely ignore what is going on in the video, where it's taking place, and by whom, to make your own conclusion. But you are entitled to it, still. We'll disagree as to whether it's a PR viral video that got people talking days from launch or as you seem to imply, it was an "idiot" Apple engineer allowing his daughter to put his job in jeopardy with a vlog about an unreleased iPhone X.
As I said, she's not a teen and she is a vlogger. Here is the gear she uses.Shot from a couple of feet away on the iPhone's ~28mm lens. Think of it like the saying, "The camera always adds 10 pounds".
Or should that be X pounds?
UPDATE: Saw the video again and realized it wasn't an iPhone doing the shooting, but a DSLR. I still think the focal length was ~28mm.
She could be the Queen of England and it wouldn’t matter if she shot it on a Red camera... her dad did something he wasn’t supposed to do and she got him in trouble by showing the device that he was not allowed to show.As I said, she's not a teen and she is a vlogger. Here is the gear she uses.
Nice video. That phone is top notch.
Missed you post in regards to it not being approved by Apple..... it's cool to jump on the bandwagon post action I guess....
Yes, but Apple has always sold us a lifestyle. They want you to be that person in the ad for example (with the original Apple Watch ads, iPhone 5 ads etc.). This really feels off-brand for Apple because it does not convey a must have feeling. Her dad still has this old Wallpaper from 2009/2010, I think, as a background, etc. It does not feel very "cool", not even for a young person. What do mean by Apple is very clear about marketing? When it comes to marketing, any company including Apple, should be open to "unconventional" marketing that can be potentially more beneficial under certain circumstances. It helps to keep it real sometimes.
Update (8:45 a.m. PT): The video has been removed from YouTube.
oh.. should have got in sooner.
The cafeteria is the most public place on a campus. People from many different departments inside Apple will go there. Most Apple employees will not have access to pre-release products. Security doesn't start at preventing any video there. Security starts by limiting foremost the number of people with access to unreleased products and secondly by limiting where they can take it and use it. The breach is not the filming in the cafeteria, the breach is transporting something to the cafeteria and more importantly showing something to somebody at the cafeteria when 99% of the people that have the right to be in the cafeteria (which, as it is abundantly clear, even includes guests) are not cleared to see the pre-release product.Apple's true intentions are still unknown -- to you, to me, to everyone here. The video is taken by the daughter of an Apple employee simply because only Apple employees have an iPhone X at this point (and in particular at point the video was actually taken at). The video was taken on Apple premises because the iPhone X was not allowed to leave the Apple Campus. None of this requires any direction from Apple at all. What happened to the principle that the most simple explanation is the most likely one?My initial and current appraisal of the video is based solely on what is happening on the video and by whom. Something is off with the aspect ratio on this video. Everything looks fat. When you see the front of the phone, it is much less tall (or if you want much wider) than it should be given the dimensions and official head-on images we have of it.Why the heck is the phone so thick? Yuck. Looks thicker than the plus phones.

“Why are Apple so focused on thinness over battery”
*iPhone X is .4mm thicker and has 2 hours more battery life*
“EWWWW SO THICK"

exactly. After it was posted and people started talking about the entitled girl, Apple realized this was a mistake.More than likely the crass consumerist tone of the video was seen as at odds with Apple’s more progressive humanitarian oriented image they’re usually trying to promote. The young lady herself has probably read the comments on her values here or somewhere and taken it down.
I think her comments would have gone over better had she seemed to be having more fun and a more lighthearted tone. Instead she seemed so bored and disconnected like she was dismissing her obvious blessings instead of appreciating and sharing them. IJustine is another California Vlogger who seems to like to shop but she’s got a charming demeanor that makes you feel a part of her adventures and her appreciation for everything.

Not sure what's the big deal. For those who wants to see how the iPhone X works, simply re-watch the Apple keynote and watch how Craig demo things on the X. Nothing new here.

I wonder if anyone can find out for sure if her dad got in trouble or not? Now that's been a day...
Why is it anyone's business?
