Yes, thanks for clearing that up and for the great .jpg.

Doesn't look like there will be many new features from this menu set than.

Now i am looking forward to seeing Sony's offerings when it comes out, if ATRAC isn't the only file type allowed on it...

No need to wait. Sony has already made it clear that their player will only play ATRAC3 stuff.

May I ask, as you find from where?

Did Sony say if they will include software to convert to ATRAC3, as iTunes is doing for WMA.
This may also be a moot issue, as Sony does not support Mac, but could change if they do in the future.

Maybe I should ebay my 15GB now...while I can still get something for it?

good idea do it like right now so someone that isn't a mac-fanatic, and doesn't know about the impending update can give the "They update the ipod after I just bought mine" pity speech to everyone.

Thinner?

From the picture the iPod does seem substanitally thinner and missing the chrome back half, which scratches ever so easily.

Could be very good if it is as thin as it seems, as long as battery life is not compromised. Actually battery life needs to be much better.

might as well if you are planning on selling it anyways. I sold my 1G on ebay right before the 2G came out. The lady who bought it asked for a refund after the 2G came out citing no reason for wanting a refund so I declined and made a bit more money than I should have

Something interesting. I've been brute forcing the site, and every set of numbers I have tried have linked to an article, book, or picture, except...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5456957/site/newsweek/

That link says it's "outdated." Both 5456956 and 5456958 work. Perhaps our article was taken down?

I'm not giving up hope. More brute forcing to do... hmm hmm...

Why don't you wait to read the article on Monday. Just because Steve is on the cover with what appears to be a new iPod, doesn't mean it is THE new iPod. This could just be an article on the success of iPod/iTunes and the re-direction of Apple Consumer Electronics er. I mean Apple Computer. Maybe the rumors of the August iPod update are more accurate, this could just be a prototype in his hands.

Maybe the photo of Steve with the new iPod is an introductory lowend model, the same features as the existing iPod in the newly designed case (MSRP $249). Than there are the NEW true next 4g iPods with available color screen, updated firmware etc. (MSRP $399 and up)

that is a nice theory... doubtful though IMO

Alright, while brute forcing, I've gone through all articles 5456893 and up. So, we need to start lower.

Also, ignore the error. There were SEVERAL error pages, and I assume that they aren't all ipod related. Also, I noticed that all articles 5457095 and up were error pages, so that's where the articles stop.

Two More Pictures from the Article

Here are two more pictures from the article:

No surprise there. Bigger HD + mini wheel + mini color + even less battery life = 4G iPod. Jobs/Apple is slipping.
Duff-Man says...how about we wait to see what the specs/features/battery life etc really are on these new pods before we complain about them.....oh yeah!

In his defense, not that I'm not laughing too, but if I had just logged on and found this before checking the forums I would post right away before reading the 9+ pages about it.

It's 11:00 P.M. Do you know where your iPods are?

Yes. Sony includes Windows only software to transcode to ATRAC3. Part of the inelegance of this solution is that transcoded music suffers a loss in quality, and it slows down the loading of the device. It will no doubt take hours and hours to copy all of your music over to the player thanks for the transcoding issue, rather than minutes for a straight copy.

WHY would you have to buy a new iPod? If you have one, whats wrong with that - it won't suddenly stop working!?
