of flemmish in there. The SWISS do speak german though.. A bastardized form.. but german none the less.

Actually, High German, as learned in school in Germany, Switzerland etc. is the bastardized form. Swiss German (at least the Allemanic dialect spoken in the Midlands) is one of the original German dialects and is MUCH closer to the language that all other German (NOT Germanic) branches have developped from.

iTunes New Zealand

If the country specific songs are available, would they be available? Some NZ artists are available, such as Crowded House, which is big tho, yet ones like Anika Moa, who is still very localised, is there too. But ones like Fur Patrol isn't there, plus, with Apple NZ run by a reseller (as opposed to Apple Computer) would that work? I hope it's here soon! would really boost the presence apple has built with teh iPod here.

sigh....

so i guess iTMS ASEAN
(Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei,Thailand etc) will still be a long way off........

Bout that,I am from Malaysia and whenever I try to open Itunes especially in Malaysia. They say its not avalaible yet. 😕 😕 It may come because of that message, you can never know

The old page 2 rumour said Canada on the 26th of November... Someone got their months mixed up? However, my hopes arent up, I'll believe it when I see it.

Anyone else find Apple has really bad timing? I always have exams or large projects on the days that Apple holds events and I really have a tough time choosing one or the other. 😀

Although it is not exactly the same, most Europeans would have trouble naming more than maybe a dozen U.S. states.

There is nothing wrong with ignorance, as long as you aware of it.

Duh! We have 19 regions on Norway, name TWO!

... No, didn't think so.

there is some australian stuff in the store today

killing heidi and bardot 😱 spiderbait

maybe these have been there a while though, i don't know

I was only 40% positive that iTMS was coming to Australia before I saw this. Now I'm about 80% sure - who outside of Australia would have even heard of Bardot, let alone have any wish to buy them (trust me, you're lucky if you've never heard of them). Killing heidi have toured the US apparently, not sure if Spiderbait have though. Searching for some other local bands that aren't world-famous (yet) finds Jebediah and Missy higgins there but no grinspoon/John butler Trio/eskimo joe. So who knows? I'll be up at 3am anyway 🙂

i wonder if there is a list somewhere of songs that have never once been downloaded, i would have a laugh reading through that and for sure bardot would be on it

Which time zone in Australia are you in?

10 AM PDT (Cupertino) = 3 AM AEST (Sydney)

or

10 AM PDT = 1 AM AWST (Perth)

P.S. Here's the site I used: timeanddate.com

I'm in QLD-so the first one is closet to me. Anyone here from Perth-because they'll probably see the announcements before those on the east coast do.

Probably some iPod/iTMS announcements and no eMacs (a music event wouldn't cover a eMac intro-but in retrospect iBooks were updated close to the 1st anniversary since the iBook went G4 and this event) -perhaps a even minor iTunes update.

...each region being as small as some smallville in the middle of texas, so who cares 😉 finland too has the thing called lapland which is roughly one third of the land area but very few people actyally live there. do we expect americans to know that? no way.

if europeans expect americans to know european countries, it goes the other way too: americans can expect us to know the states, because each state is comparable to average european country, people-wise and in land area. it's not like americans should be able to tell where "england" actually is located in the great britain 😉

Is there any Australian/American/Pop Idol music on the iTMS stores or in Australia would Bigpond or NineMSN would at least have music from any of the winners from that shows. ?

i just hope that songs will be 99c here in Aus. 😉 you know, for the sake of keeping it a nice round number. 😛

I have, but that is because TVNZ made us suffer through Australia's Popstar's (I didn't even realise they were still together!:S, poor, poor, world)

Could not put it better myself.

Wait a sec tho... That Bardot is not the Australian Bardot, it is Brigette Bardot whom the Australian Bardot named tehmselves after.

this may be true , 9am local may mean we all know about it while aus sleeps and when you wake up you will have the iTunes Music Store lol

so what is it now 9 hours 15 min left to go to find out 😱

I stopped trying to catch up on page 6. the error message has changed since yesterday NOW i get a timeout error. that my internet connection or the server is down - anyone else got this? or was this on page 7 🙂

cheers
m

EDIT - after half an hour of trying I'm back to the old not available in your country thingy.

That would be great. And they need to aim at that sort of price range to take on the current online music sales like Destra.

Well, I know a few states. The non-square ones. California, n/w Virginia, Florida, Michigan, etc.

Square states... Man, I'd get paranoid by living there...

you know when the UK Store was launched it went live at around 12.30 pm so maybe we can start seeing some of the european stores go live in less then 3 -4 hours it would be the solution as why would apple release so much in one day ? Music stores ? iPod , and maybe even a eMac and some have said the next release of Panther 10.3.6 so all being well we might see a staggerd release today !

here's hoping for a good day

BAD Fake..

Apple would NEVER do Belgium before Nederlands!

Duh ;P

If your going to Put Belgium on the list (and Denmark) you better include the nederlands in you fake 😉

I'd better not react to this HyperX...
but no, you're right, they would do the Netherlands before Belgium

Ps: Steve Jobs has bought a house in Rotterdam or Amsterdam...
PS, here's your recipy:

-peel the potatoes (indeed, fresh! fries)
-cut them into fine sticks (about 1cm thick = 1/3of an inch)
-wash the sticks and let them dry, or rub the sticks with a towel (to remove all the substance that makes them wet when you cut them)
-bake them in a deep saucepan with oil (those special things, yes, not just the pan you use to roast your beef!) at 170 °C for a minute or five.
-get them out of the oil and put them in a jar that you covered with paper towels so as to extract as much oil from the fries as possible.
-when the fries are cold, put them in the saucepan again, but now with the oil at a good 180°C (or a little more). The difference in temperature is the big secret to make exellent Friench Fries: Crusty.
The kitchen paper to extract the fat is also very important.

Enjoy on this marvelous day.
It feels like 1984 again... 🙂

PS: what country are you now?

Oh come on - everyone knows where lapland is - its where Santa lives! 😉

Btw I was born in the Isle of Man (separate government, mint etc) - anyone know where that is? 😛

Btw Btw Good to see more European/ Australasian/ North American sites seem to be coming up - maybe that means we'll get even more indies here!

Trying to figure out how you came to that conclusion ... it's 1am in Perth when it's 3am in Sydney/Melbourne. That means that, if you assume people get up at around 7am, people in Sydney/Melbourne will get up four hours after the announcement; people in Perth will get up six hours after. Ergo, the odds are good that the east coast will know before the west coast.

Of course, this assumes that the announcement is made at 10am Cupertino time. If it's made at 9am Sydney time, I'll be a little bit surprised (not super surprised, just a little bit.)

In any case, I'm going to have to put my credit card in a block of ice. I can't afford to be buying music right now...

Yep, in between Ireland an Great Britain,
it is a Crown dependecy (so are the Channel Ilands). It has complete internl self-fovernment, including its own Parliament and its own tax system. It is ruled by a Lieutenat Governor appointed by the British.

It has a local dialect: Manx.

not bad for a Belgian heh...

Mkay.. someone put Iceland on that list... I wonder why 🙂

They have like... less than 300,000 inhabitants. Seem a strange route for Apple ( very unusual actually, since Apple havn't bothered all that much about that little island in the north.. )

Would be a nice gesture tho, but I don't see any Icelandic content on ITMS except for bork bork Björk...
