on the Dutch site macosx.nl I found another way to check whether or not you will get itms in the very near future:

go to your local apple site,
go to the online store,
go to the ipod.

Check if you get specifications that you can browse and download music from the itunes music story.

It seems that both in the Netherlands and in Belgium, the text has been adapted,

in Dutch:
Muziekwinkel bij de hand
...
Denmark also has that text added. So does Switzerlandand Sweden.
Canada does not. Nor does Australia.

Canada could be done overnight (their time).
Who knows if all the changes are in yet?

For some reason iTMS is working for me again, could this just be a technical problem?

Canada!

i doubt it , this is Apple's big chance to take control over the download market once and for all, and get rid of all that rubbish competition

people will remember 2004 - iPods and iTunes Music Store

It was. Apple switched the auto country detect back over to Akamai Saturday afternoon, and this appears to be the cause of the issue. It should all be fixed now.

Edit: caching may still be causing some issues for various people.

This text is there in the Swiss, Austrian, Finnish, Spanish and Belgium store, but not in the Canadian and Australian one.

I have not checked all the still iTMS-less EU-15 countries, but it looks like most if not all of them will get access (plus Switzerland). Sorry for Canada and Australia.

NoooooOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I want my iTMS 🙁

Will you be staying up aswitcher? Looks like it's a 3am night for me...

No message in AU store -> ipod about being able to browse itms for songs/audiobooks.
However there was this:

iPod Etiquette.

Remove both earbuds:
During a job interview
Taking your driver’s test
When your sweetie calls

Remove one earbud:
Listening for your flight
Buying groceries
When a coworker calls

Leave ’em in:
Visiting the inlaws
At the laundromat
When your boss calls

Looping around!

Has anyone else noticed that the 'warning' page and then the flag page, loop without stopping, thus forming an 'Infinite Loop', just like Apples address in Cupertino. Maybe the people at Apple are just having a bit of fun with all of us 😛

macmarino 🙂

Acording to the messages on the Apple Store, iTMS will be in Japan too!!, but not in Norge.
Most of eurpean countries will launch tomorrow. No!! its today!!! (CET)

Switzerland is as much a part of Northern Europe as Missouri is on the West Coast and Belgium and Poland are not any more related to Germany than the Netherlands or the Czech Republic in that all are neighbours of Germany, although Belgium has a small German speaking minority and Poland a really tiny one.

just adding another thought to the mix, not like there could really be 300 different itunes music stores to satisfy every little country out there...

I hate to be a party pooper

I hate to be a party pooper, but to me it's been always like this, I live in Mexico and i've always seen the country warning prior to entering (and browsing) the US ITMS.

And I say this because the update on the news says that tipsters reported this message in iTunes Mexico. Its always been like this, unless you guys see something different.

Don't worry about being the party pooper, you're not, you just haven't read the whole article or any of the other responses.

Perhaps I've missed all the action, but Australia has nothing different to accessing iTMS... Same warning, same geographical credit card restrictions, etc.

This text is there in the Swiss, Italian, Irish, Danish, Swedish, Austrian, Finnish, Spanish, Portuguese, Belgium and Japanese(!) store, but not in the Canadian and Australian one. It also not present in the Norvegian, Icelandic (Icelandian?), Greek, Czech and Polish store, but they have much less text anyway on that page, maybe they did not translate all of it. (Interestingly, the Finnish and Portuguese store is in English, although the main Apple web page is in Finnish/Portuguese.)
Luxemburg does not seem to have an Apple web page.

It looks like most if not all of the still iTMS-less EU-15 countries will get access (plus Switzerland and Japan). Sorry for Canada and Australia. Inconclusive on the new EU members like Poland and smaller Non-EU countries like Norway.

Sorry for quoting myself, but I've updated my post several times and thought all the time I'm still the last post while I was only the last post on the sixth page...

If I have to put money on it, with all this new info, I bet.....

-iTunes 5.0 with Motorolla intergration

-aacPlus announcement, Apple commitment to updating every song in the iTMS to aacPlus.

-Pepsi + iTunes v2.0 announcement- iPod giveaways too?

-U2 iPod

-European Union iTMS launch

-Apple official statment on Canada and Austiralia by end of the year

One More Thing.....

-60gig Normal iPod. Color screen at MacWorld San Fran.

At this moment in Spain, I can access to the store with the same country warning and but clicking ok I enter the store as two days ago.
Now the message says:
The iTunes Music Store its not avaliable in your country yet. You will be able to browse music, listen to previews, but you wont be able to purchase music.
This alert before was telling something on the countries with store, nothing on it now,
And also dont apears the page with the 4 flags.

I'm not even sure Steve knows what Canada is ?

I think Steve is probably smarter than some Americans I've run into who think that Canada is simply that little strip of land at the top of their TV weather maps... 😉

Errr.. Am I missing something? This is how iTunes has always behaved in Canada. This is nothing new - that error message has always been there (like for months).

The initial error message always appeared, but not like this - now Canadians et al. are not able to browse iTMS at all. Before, we would always get this error message and then still be able to proceed into iTMS to at least browse, preview, etc. without being able to buy.

I hope you're right about aacPlus, but it will probably only be available for 4G iPods and iPod Minis. LossLess audio at 128k would be insanely great but I don't know what Apple would do about the music people have already downloaded from the iTMS, unless there is going to be some kind of file upgrade feature.

FIIIIIINNLAAAND!! OH PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Joulupukki (the original Santa Claus hehe) wants iTMS here so that he can listen to good music on his ipod when travelling to deliver xmas presents to kids 🙂
You're so near to Russia, so far from Japan; Quite a long way from Cairo, lots of miles from Vietnam ...

*ahem*

Sorry.

I'll believe that Apple's releasing the iTMS in Australia when I see it. Not before.

LossLess audio at 128k, yeah I always wanted to buy a kilogramm of tomatos that only weighs 200 gramm...
