If "loop effect" is happening in too many countries. IMO, we are all being too optimistic that *all* these countries are going to get itms tomorrow.
Forgive me for being a shameless optimist (it's usually not in my nature), but isn't it possible that the record industry -- collectively -- will move away from the piecemeal licensing across borders and arbitrary regions and just, say, license Apple to sell music wherever it can sell music?

Maybe they (or at least a large subset of the industry) finally realized that if somebody in Croatia or Malaysia or Puerto Rico wants to buy music from a band that happens to be, say, German, they should probably be allowed to. There are millions of potential sales being blocked by this archaic licensing system.

Perhaps iTunes is going worldwide tomorrow -- for real. One big store with every track (from the current national stores) and more which is accessible to everybody in every country in the world that has internet access.

One can dream, anyway.

I don't know how the music industry manages to look at the status quo and say, "We're not going to change!" when changing could potentially double, triple, or even quintuple sales for some musicians.

I sorta hope they just release iTMS:Sudan or something like that and nothing else. Then the 4 people with iTunes in Sudan could rejoice.

i would think they would have u2 play a song that hints that lots more countries can now access the store, maybe "its a beautiful day" song. and there will for shure be a special recording of the song available on the store a couple days after the event. can you buy music if you live in the US but travel to, say, canada in a hotel room and want to buy some music? i would think they couldnt find out where you are, as long as you have a US credit card right? 😀 😕 🙄

C'mon it's been October 26th here for HOURS now 😀

Why can't it be October 26th in Cupertino already? Such a pity.

Inter-store buying

I'd love to have access to some Swedish tracks from here in USA. When iTMS Sweden opens (hopefully there is one in the works), will I have to have a Swedish bank account in order to download Swedish songs?

Apple must be aware of the fact that people in USA would love to buy tracks from the UK, Germany, France and others... Why would the music companies want to block me from buying a song that is available at an international iTMS, but not the US one? Doesn't it mean more money in their pockets???

@corywoolf

that is correct, as long as the payment address is in one of the four countries you can buy music from wherever you want to,..

Bye, Bernie

And yes, Glading has nothing to hide, he does own an iPod and it's bursting with more than 400 albums. "I love iTunes and I love my iPod and I wish we had iTunes in New Zealand because I would be on it every day getting tunes."http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/businessstorydisplay.cfm?storyID=3603640

o well if Sony bosses( or ex) want itunes i say let em have it and put em out of the misery

It's interesting to see that he is most probably breaking the law, as well. Here in New Zealand it is illegal to make any copies of copyrighted music (even for back up or archival purposes) due to our archaic laws.

Here's hoping Ireland will be included tomorrow

Since the big Apple / U2 event is tomorrow, it would only be appropriate for Ireland to get the iTMS tomorrow also.

Maybe they should've had one well-known band from each country they're releasing to involved. That would've really been something, eh?

Netherlands

Now that is interesting. It seems to me that there may be a correlation between what happens after the flag and whether there will be a store for that area tomorrow.

Can anybody from the Netherlands comment on what happens? AppleInsider is reporting that Dutch content has been added to the music store recently, so it seems likely they'll be "in" tomorrow.

It's looped, so you get back to first 'not available etc' again, after the flags window. I can access the different stores by doing a search. First click on say french flag, getting the first window, doing a search results in a french search, etc.
Two days ago i searched and found some of the dutch artists that were supposedly added. Now i cannot find them anymore! Imho this means they are now separating the different contents for the different stores....!

Welcome newcomers to the joy of iTMS! Unless you want Metallica or Evanescence, then you're not so joyful. 🙁

Confirmed: No iTMS in any Latin America country for tomorrow.

Source: EMI Music Publishing Latin America.

Hmmm...it's made it to the front page...but I'm starting to believe that so many countries at once is an impossibility, and that we are getting too hopeful. 🙁

Poland
New Zealand
Denmark
Mexico

I live in Mexico and have been able to accsess and buy from ITMS for months now.. of course I am useing a US billing address. But the very first time I tried getting into the store from here it gave me the "not currently available in this country" crap... but then again this was MONTHS ago..

In Australia the iTunes Music Store also says "Not available in your country yet!" Clciking the button takes you to the 4 flags also. Clicking any of the 4 flags loops back to the previous "Not avail.." message.

Can anybody say aacPlus (HE-AAC)? 🙂

U2 Launch Today Also.

New QT and New iTunes versions etc all probably going to happen in about 25 hours time too. Of course it's only rumor 😉

Wonderful-if some Asia-Pacific countries get iTMS soon. Perhaps the AFR article might be right about the iTMS launch here after all or Apple's Eddie Cue statement on extra Euro countries getting itms.

Slovenia too?

Hi,

Just want to let you know that I get the "not available yet" -> flags -> "not availably yet" loop too. I am located in Slovenia.

I don't believe we'll be getting the iTMS here, but... who knows 🙄

This is all sounds like very good news to me! I'm glad that it looks like Canada will finally be able to join the club, it's about time Apple got off their asses for our friends up North. My biggest hope for tomorrow is iTunes 5 and iPod software updates. I would like to see iTunes start supporting 24-bit audio, I have a few CD's that could take advantage of that, and would like to see the Apple engineers tweak the AAC encoder a bit.

Does anybody know if the presentation tomorrow will be broadcast on the internet? Anybody else notice that Apple is not broadcasting events live anymore, I wonder what has caused this to happen?

Not the images stopped working

Just noticed that all the images in the iTMS are not working...

Just getting an image of a broken paperclip ALL the time

Luxembourg, host of itunes Europe music store, oficially awaits the opening of the Benelux store with great anticipation.

( I can't wait 😱 )
