Waiting patiently for the new 5.4” iPhone Pro with A14, 6GB RAM and cutting edge cameras, 5G LTE!

Anyone with a 6, 6S, or 7 that needs a battery now will (if they can) update. The 6 doesn't even run iOS 13 and It's very possible that the 6S won't run iOS 14. Probably better to invest the battery $ towards a phone that is faster with more and faster RAM, better battery life, has wireless charging, and that will last 3 or 4 years. By then both of the 5G technologies should be mature, Apple will have their own 5G modem together and it would be a good time to upgrade. I think it might be foolish to pay hundreds extra get 5G v.1 this fall - most places won't have 5G for 2 or even 3 years.

No one is forcing anyone to spend their money on it. There's a few people in this thread that are excited about it. No reason to delay, just don't expect it to sell very well at the moment.
Theres two types of people. Move on as normally as possible. or Stop everything because of a tragedy. I am in the first camp. Stay home, save lives, enjoy your new phone.

John Prosser’s initial prediction probably isn’t too far off, I’m not worried about the specifications for this phone specifically. What I want to know, is how Apple prices this to make it strategic enough and affordable. I think this phone will be successful, but if the price isn’t right, consumers are strategically saving their money right now given the pandemic, and I think I will be a key component moving forward.

If Apple announces the 9+, I will order one ASAP !

If priced @ $499 USD, I believe the iPhone 9+ will NOT include a Back Telephoto Camera !

There are people who are 6, 6s, 7 and 8 users who aren't interested in Face ID. Maybe they want to keep a similar looking device, with Apple's updated features (A13, better camera, better battery life, etc.) than their 6-8 model device.

iPhone 6 owner who might be interested in this SE. However, I would be open to a iPhone 12 but only if comes with a fresh new design and not another rehash of the X.

if i could get this size in the x/11 form factor i would buy it instantly

this “se 2” seems like the worst of both worlds. giant bezels and too big

I have the smaller iPhone Pro, which replaced my SE.

I miss my SE so much.

I’ve been wanting to buy a pair of shoes lately. Should I hold off on that until August out of respect for the pandemic? Makes no sense.

I recently purchased some shoes, so I say go for it! I must be insensitive though.

On topic... I am definitely considering upgrading to this phone from my SE. I will miss the size, but I will enjoy the battery life!

The original iPhone launched at $499 13 years ago. After more than a decade and exponential growth beyond imagination, the "low cost" iPhone is $399. On the plus side, it comes with an A13 chip and maybe some other real nice hardware...but why? I know several people (of different ages and situations) that can't afford a $400 smartphone. If Apple were to sell one that was $159 or $199, that's something they could afford.

Yes, I'm aware there are older models in this price range if you shop around and do your due diligence and possibly sign up for contracts.

With all that's been going on in the world lately, it would take some serious cojones to release a new phone, seeing as people are losing their jobs left, right and center....ending up in the hospital or worse. We are in the midst of the worst global catastrophe of our lifetimes, I think launching a new iPhone at this current time would be seen as poor taste.

Apple may be better served to hold off for a least a couple more months (July, perhaps?).

Couldnt Disagree with you more. Many people are at home. If you live in a big metropolitan area, this must seem like the world is ending, but it isn’t. Besides a few more days at home from work and staying home, I don’t see much of any change Where I’m at. (I understand I’m lucky for now, but it’s true) We are enduring and doing our best to distance. But...We don’t need to freeze in panic because you or even a group of people feel offended a company would dare release a phone in these “uncertain“ times. Can’t afford it? Don’t buy it. Don’t ruin it for everyone who may like it. And I think it’s a perfect time for a cheaper option.
