Hey @Romeo_Nightfall I’ve seen you’ve pushed the red button on my comment, quoted above. Can you specify what part do you disagree with? The part where I say I’m happy with my iPhone 8? Or the part where I say that having better internals would be appealing?

actually the part about RAM and 7nm ... especially the 7nm - because that’s pure nonsense from my point of view to consider this for an upgrade.

I distinctly recall getting some iPhones and iPads on a Friday release day.

They usually announce products at the beginning of the week. The shipping sometimes begin on a Friday, at least for iPhones. I don't remember an iPhone announced and shipped the same day though, something that usually happens with products like Macs and iPads.

Personally, I think 326 PPI is enough. Any higher for me would be diminished returns. I’d definitely rather have the extra battery life.

I had a Plus phone and I could notice the higher PPI, but I'd say 326 is good enough, especially for a model that isn't going to be priced too high.
Let's see if they increase PPI on the 12, or if they switch to OLED even for the "non pro" model.

Considering the 20% VAT it would have to be priced around €500, wouldn’t it? And it’s an 8 with an A13, I can’t imagine it would have a headphone jack but who knows?

Bill Evans, could you kindly my answer my question as you seem to know a lot?

I really hope so, i’m been obsessively checking for updates since February on this new phone.

It’s about time I put my SE to rest..

With all that's been going on in the world lately, it would take some serious cojones to release a new phone, seeing as people are losing their jobs left, right and center....ending up in the hospital or worse. We are in the midst of the worst global catastrophe of our lifetimes, I think launching a new iPhone at this current time would be seen as poor taste.

Apple may be better served to hold off for a least a couple more months (July, perhaps?).

I disagree if there is a time to release a 'cheap' phone now, is it.

Supreme and Golf Wang do this as placement holders. The random text is autogenerated as a placeholder. The iPhone 6, 12, and 9 are probably not finished yet and I assume they have not taken out any of the pre-existing placeholders. It seems they already took care of the iPhone se by forcing you to go back to the home page. In other words, someone manually put a link to direct you there. They clearly know what's up.

Life goes on for the living, you know. I would expect Apple or any other company to carry on with business as usual as far as is possible.

This should be a beast with an A13 pushing the 4.7” LCD. I’ll probably trade in my X for a near wash in price.

I'll keep my 11 Pro Max. It blows this out of the fu---ng water.

This new SE is for all the people who complain about the notch.

well yeah at over double the cost, it should.

I think it is indeed called the iPhone SE. Because when you go to apple.com/iphonese it redirects to the main iPhone page, just as going to apple.com/iphone8 does. When you go to /iphone9 or to /iphonese2 you get a 404 error.

I mean... The iPhone SE was an actual phone at one point. It was also on the refurbished site not too long ago. So it makes sense that that’s what happens. There was never a 9 or SE2 so the 404 error is fitting.

Yeah, actually it is not that much of a difference. Only benefit I could see is battery life, so either I replace my aged battery or sell my 8 to get this new phone.

Apple UK store has the Apple Care+ for iPhone SE for £89. You can't add it to bag (yet) but we should be almost there...

And the photo in the relevant page is not the old SE.... 😄

I agree with you, yet there are people out there who would rather have a shiny new iPhone than eat or pay their electric bill or make a car payment or whatever. Despite what's going on in the world right now, this phone will sell like hot cakes, guaranteed. Case in point: the new 2020 MacBook Air--seems to be selling pretty well right now.

Apple's new low-cost iPhone is set to launch as early as Friday, April 3, according to a new report from 9to5Mac that cites a tip from a "highly trusted reader." The site says that while it can't be certain about the launch date, "Apple could reveal and begin taking orders for the new iPhone as soon as tomorrow."

The iPhone 8

Apple is said to be planning to call the new iPhone, which is expected to be priced somewhere around $399, the "iPhone SE" just like the 2016 iPhone SE, which was also positioned as a low-cost device.

The 2020 iPhone SE is expected to come in white, black, and PRODUCT(Red) color options, and Apple will offer 64, 128, and 256GB storage capacities.

Prior rumors have suggested that the low-cost 2020 iPhone SE will be identical to the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 when it comes to design, featuring thick top and bottom bezels and a Touch ID Home button. It will have a single-lens rear camera, NFC support, and the same A13 chip that's in the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro.

Why are they calling it a SE? I really wanted an all screen SE.

Yes it’s a weird time to launch a new phone, but we will all pull through this.

And it’s likely that many people on a lookout for a new iPhone will be buying at the mid to low end.

I’m sure that there will be financing deals to help people with this as the world jump starts its economy.

Thus a new SE looks smart.

Expensive high-end 5g phones however, feel like luxuries right now, so it’s more the September new models that feel at risk at the moment.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they slip to 2021.

Who is going to spring for a new amazing camera when - and let’s be realistic - travel & going out to bars, restaurants etc is not going to return to normal until there is a vaccine in 2021.

There’s only so many pictures that you can take of your neighbourhood and backyard...
