It's supposed to come with a newer design regardless of the price. Apple is literally crap that runs by people who just care about getting a paycheck.

People like Apple because they use simple but reliable designs on their products.

Samsung changes their look every generation and all they get are exploding devices.

and look at how much more popular iPhones are compared to any Android phone. Guess why? because of the brand. You can recognize an iPhone a mile away, because of the distinctive look.

Some of you would run a business to bankruptcy with your ideas and it shows.

Would love to know if the SE will support wireless charging or not. Knowing Apple, it won't, which is a deal breaker for me (yes, a lame reason, I know...wtf you're an idiot, just plug it in, first world problem etc).

lol sorry I fell asleep. Answered above post #225

PS you’re the first one to know the avatar, a true genius who met a tragic end.
Not quite. Some time back I asked you if the estate of Bill Evans had given you permission to use the photo :) In any case, I listen to his music a few times a week.

In the land of cell phones. Yep. That’s cheap
In the US, $400 is certainly on the affordable side particularly since most will be paying $15-20/mo on those on 24-30 month installments. For a long time, the going rate for mainstream-level iPhones has been in the $650-750 zone.

Elsewhere around the globe, $100-200 cellphones are pretty popular and for some, spending $400+ on a phone is out of the question.

I'm sitting here in lockdown and my iPhone SE is dying because the lightning has a defective contact and I don't know how much longer I'm able to charge it. If I bend the cable to the right and fix it with a clamp in a special way then it charges sometimes.

So a new SE is very much appreciated now and not in a few months
Have you tried cleaning the socket with something thin and non-conductive like a toothpick? Usually that type of problem is just due to a buildup of pocket lint that prevents the connector from fully seating. Maybe you’ve already tried cleaning it.

What a ridiculous and idiotic statement. Do you have any more perceptive insights to share with us?

Well that’s what you get if you’re going to be changing your devices look every generation, trying to implement newer technology without much trials and selling it for €1000+ only for 2 years worth of software updates.

Why do you think Apple is so successful? because they actually perfect it.

I am completely shocked at people complaining about the rumored price of this phone. They do realize it has the latest chip, right? You are getting a lot of power in an iPhone for potentially $399. This is the best deal since the original SE. Outside of people who really want a good camera, this is easily the best bang for buck iPhone and will handle IOS for 4+ years.

My question to you was "Do you have any more perceptive insights to share with us?"
Your response clearly shows that you do not.

ok, my response wasn’t perceptive enough apparently, tell me how your response was perceptive to the case I was trying to make in my original comment. Tell me why i’m wrong, why should Apple ditch a good reliable design at a budget price and instead make an all new design not even for a flagship device that’ll bump up the price to at least €700.

Anyone with a 6, 6S, or 7 that needs a battery now will (if they can) update. The 6 doesn't even run iOS 13 and It's very possible that the 6S won't run iOS 14. Probably better to invest the battery $ towards a phone that is faster with more and faster RAM, better battery life, has wireless charging, and that will last 3 or 4 years. By then both of the 5G technologies should be mature, Apple will have their own 5G modem together and it would be a good time to upgrade. I think it might be foolish to pay hundreds extra get 5G v.1 this fall - most places won't have 5G for 2 or even 3 years.

Why even get a new iPhone that’s the same style if one’s iPhone is still working less the battery? $100 replaces the battery. Most people can not afford a new device right now even at $400+. I read that 80% of Americans were not prepared for a $500 emergency expense without a credit card. We are looking at 20%+ unemployment and probably the worst times financially since the Great Depression. It’s probably going to be a rough few years for a lot of people, and there’s no shame in that.

So don’t buy a new iPhone if $100 will get you two or three more years out of your current iPhone. Most people that aren’t Apple Fans, or tech reviewers simply don’t have the newest latest greatest iPhone because it’s a waste of money for most. Take care of yourself and your family. Your phone can wait.

Hopefully in 33 minutes we'll find out if we have to wait until the 14th or not....
Maybe the SE will replace my OnePlus 6T...
