So it's basically an expensive iPhone 6S without headphone jack? ...pass..
If one discounts the additional capabilities and features that have been added, both hardware and software since the 6s, sure. But one thing is for sure the battery life will blow away the battery life on the 6s, as well as the camera.

As far as the headphone jack, that ship has sailed.

If they look like this, they are beautiful!

I agree with you, yet there are people out there who would rather have a shiny new iPhone than eat or pay their electric bill or make a car payment or whatever. Despite what's going on in the world right now, this phone will sell like hot cakes, guaranteed. Case in point: the new 2020 MacBook Air--seems to be selling pretty well right now.
I've got coworkers who don't have home computers buying laptops so they can telecommute.

This might seem like a shiny new iPhone but for some, this is a long overdue upgrade to older defective/malfunctioning iPhones. Especially so for people who don't have landlines (sometimes even home internet/PC) and use their smartphone as their only form of communication.

The ones who want shiny already have 11 / 11 Pro / 11 Pro Max.

With all that's been going on in the world lately, it would take some serious cojones to release a new phone, seeing as people are losing their jobs left, right and center....ending up in the hospital or worse. We are in the midst of the worst global catastrophe of our lifetimes, I think launching a new iPhone at this current time would be seen as poor taste.

Apple may be better served to hold off for a least a couple more months (July, perhaps?).

There are many people (both of my parents) that have been waiting for this phone specifically because they both have the old iPhone SE and are very overdue for an upgrade. They've already replaced the battery through the Apple battery replacement program, but their phones are feeling very old. A $399 or less iPhone could be exactly what people need in these tough economic times. Nobody is going without a phone...

Heck, buy this new iPhone with an Apple Card, save 3%, and Apple lets you do payments. AND if this is still going on in May, there is a chance they'll let you skip May's payment like they did for March & April.

If it's meant to be a low-key unveiling, a Friday would make sense.
But I think it'll be Tuesday...to grab some headlines and press coverage.

Either way, a shiny new iPhone is really secondary news given the current worldwide crisis.

7:35 in Cupertino. Nothing yet. Just saying, they might drop it in the early hours of the morning to be the first thing ppl see in the news.

Only 3 color options sound disappointing, i was hoping for a purple or a dark blue at least.
Agreed. A deep purple (violet) or a nice navy blue would be great. The "purple" in the 11 is not really purple at all, and the XR blue is too bright.

I'm sitting here in lockdown and my iPhone SE is dying because the lightning has a defective contact and I don't know how much longer I'm able to charge it. If I bend the cable to the right and fix it with a clamp in a special way then it charges sometimes.

So a new SE is very much appreciated now and not in a few months

Yep, navy blue would be nice. Been wanting an iPhone in navy blue, forest green or maroon. The midnight green's really nice but I'm not paying $1000+ for that.

The lazy version of iPhone from Apple and Tim Cook. Nothing new for a phone that used to be flagship model.

Exactly. This isn't for those who want shiny and new. It's got a 6-year old design for goodness' sake.

This is for those who need to replace their 4+ year old iPhones (likely exhibiting issues by now) with a new phone that will last them another 4 years or so.

Wait. Any news on the 5.5 inch iPhone se 2020? Will it release tomorrow alongside the 4.7 inch? If so, will the 5.5 inch be $550 for 128 gbs? I hope it is under. *OFF SWAPA *Should I get an XR in mint condition for 128 gbs for under 500 (possibly 450 or 485 before taxes.) Or get this?
Well the rumors are that the Plus model will not launch at the same time. Ming-Chi Kuo predicts next year, 1H2020. There haven’t been any prices mentioned but I think $549 for a 128GB Plus is a solid guess.

re: the mint XR for $450-500 if you need an iPhone before next year (assuming rumors are true) that’s a really good price.
