I received my Snugg sleeve. It's very nice, fits very well, and I can use the back pocket for my iPad mini (with the Apple cover, no case). It's more rigid than I thought it would be, but that's probably a good thing (there's a cardboard sheet in the panel). Looks like something that will age well, like leather does.

I'm still on the fence because it's very masculine, but you can't beat the price, and it does the job very well. Maybe I'll go with a Toffee sleeve later. In the meantime, I really like it. Will take pics later.

Wow. That's really nice! You can close the portfolio normally? Also, I'm surprised it fits because an iPad is still much smaller than the rMB.

Yes it closes no problem, it doesn't even require using the second snap which is there for times when the portfolio is stuffed with docs, etc.

Bodygaurdz for scratch protection

That is the one I ordered. I am not really looking for more than scratch protection (my iPad and iPad mini are both scratched to hell since I just have smart covers). I really wanted something super light as that was the main reason I chose this laptop.

I ordered the UltraTough Clear Skin to protect from scratches. Have not received it yet, but have used it on my MBP and it still looks like brand new 3 years later.

Available in Clear and Carbon Fiber:

Beautiful matte Black Napa leather, lined with coral-red leather, finished with Red stitching. It is a stunning combination in contrast.

Snugg - but what about the magnet?

I like the Snugg case but it uses a magnet instead of velcro....magnets and hard drives do not play well together...

Magnets do nothing to hard drives. Your hard drive has a permanent magnet on the inside that is much stronger than anything you'll find in a computer case.

I just took delivery of the Snugg sleeve. For the price it is nice. But I'm disappointed in the nylon stitching. Seems a little rough in the hand along the bottom edge. I also wish the last stitch didn't end in the middle of the bottom of the case Does yours show any of this?

Your new macbook has SSD, not a magnet spinning drive. LOL

Leather on the inside? I don't think you want that. Should be felt for a number of reasons including ease of removal.

I thought of that and saw the other sleeves that are lined, but yet I choose to go with this one because 1. It is gorgeous, 2. I would rather it be a little snug rather than too easy to slide out, 3. I bought a skin to protect it from scratches.

You may still be right. I'll let you know when it arrives. (Shipping 4/30)

You would need a MUCH stronger magnet to be a problem for a spinning HD. And that's not a problem anymore with SSD's, unless you live in the center of the Earth :)

I didn't notice that. The stitching is kinda rough, but it's clean.

I think in the center of the earth the magnetic pull would be neutral (since magnetic pull comes from the poles). So in theory, your hard drive would be easier to spin at the core of the earth. Tho it (and you) would be a pile of molten goo.

Mine too. I contacted Booq as well to show that there is interest in the product and they replied that it is in the works and that I should check the site periodically. Would you choose the Gray or the Black? (with a Silver MB FWIW)

The Grey Viper and Sand Viper cases are on crazy sale right now on Amazon (and Prime, too) for $10 and $15 respectively. I just ordered a grey one to use on my rMB as a temp case while I wait for more rMB cases to come out in the next months. Hopefully it'll fit decently, though the rMB is .25" deeper than the 11" Air.
