I have yet to see one that really ticks all my boxes, so to speak. I think my strategy will be to just buy this cheap $8 one from Amazon that fits decently to protect it for a couple months while I wait for more manufacturers to make their cases available.

FYI, my requirements are:

- Fits like a glove without a millimeter of wasted space.

- Thick enough to provide decent protection on all edges and corners

- Not so thick as to feel bulky

- Flap that closes or zipper closure so no side is unprotected

- Looks not terrible

-Reasonably priced, around $50 or less

Yuck. When the pouch is thicker than the laptop, no good.

----------

I have a Crumpler Macbook Air 11" Fug Sleeve (it's basically a really overprices neoprene slide-in sleeve for the Macbook Air 11").

The new Air 12" fits in perfectly, but it slides about an inch past the case, which is funny because the 12" laptop is smaller than my 11" air was.... Most people would think it's no big deal, but to have that little bit of flappy extra neoprene at the end is annoying my OCD.

Has anyone found a super slim profile Neoprene sleeve, or something similar yet? I like the idea of the Radtech, but would be nice to have something slightly (read: VERY slightly) more padded than just a piece of cloth. This Crumpler sleeve was so perfect for the Air, but they don't make the sleeves anymore.

Ideas?

Agreed. I have held their cases and I don't like them. Too think and clunky.

Also Picasolab has had fulfillment issues in the past. Guy was slow and hard to reach. He started on Ebay. My case was refunded as he sent me the wrong color leather. Maybe he is better now.

Not neoprene, but SFBags makes a very nice, very thin ultrasuede sleeve in vertical and horizontal opening formats.

If my inCase Slieve didn't work I was going to get that sleeve. Already had it in the cart but the neoprene one is a very good fit.

That is the one I ordered. I am not really looking for more than scratch protection (my iPad and iPad mini are both scratched to hell since I just have smart covers). I really wanted something super light as that was the main reason I chose this laptop.

I have an 11" Air Muzetto bag from sfbags that should fit the new 12" rMB based on the measurements shown on Apple's website. I so hope it does because I paid a bunch for it a few years ago and I don't want to have to buy it again... And it's just an amazing bag! And the black leather still looks great even after a few years of almost daily use.

I usually go with radtech for very thin felt-like sleeves that fit the laptop snugly and use their keyboard protectors as well. This is mostly just to prevent scratches, not to prevent any shock-type damage--that's what the Muzetto is for.

I just wanted to confirm that I have the 10" mobile Muzetto bag that I bought a few years back for my iPad and my new rMB fits in there perfectly. Just bought a Tom Bihn sleeve so I'm hoping with the sleeve it still works. I imagine it should.

So I ordered one of these today in waxed canvas: https://www.sfbags.com/collections/...cases/products/12-inch-macbook-travel-express

This is after I already ordered one of these in grey/red: http://jolioriginals.com/products/smooth-macbook

I don't have either... or even my MacBook yet... but I had FOMO: I'd love the Joli sleeve to use on its own, but wanted something that I could use to carry around a few other things like a notebook, etc.

Now that my wife's new employer has said that they will buy her a Mac, I am trying to convince her to get a Gold MB, so that I can justify keeping both cases.

But, failing that, which one would you keep and why?

Joli Sleeve or Waterfield Travel Express?

I'm thinking about getting one of these felt cases from Etsy, they all look nice and simple. However, I've heard some mention of dust being trapped in the felt over time and that can cause tiny scratches on the computer. Any truth to that or is there a way to thoroughly clean felt?

I ordered one of the mint cases. But when you're talking 80 bucks. It almost makes sense to go with a Tumi quality case.

Someone 4 posts above yours has the same exact link.

I'm starting to think some people on here are schills for SFbags

Forgive me for this terrible error - working off my phone.

And the word you are looking for is "shill".

I still have Waterfield gear that is > 10 years old and looks like new, hard to beat.
