Do you have Prime? Let us know if it fits

The good news is I have Prime, so I will have a case in just a couple days. The bad news is that I ordered the 1.3ghz MacBook, so who knows when that will get here. Will post an update when I have them both.

How will it ever fit in there with that big powerful processor? ;)

Leaning towards these: http://felt-case-factory.co.uk/product-category/apple/macbooks/. I don't think I can justify a $50+ piece of felt... but they don't have any versions that are officially for the rMB.

I bought one of these, and maybe you don't care, but just fyi not all felt is created equal. These are synthetic fiber felt. Felt can also be made of wool (which is much nicer and I will eventually upgrade to when I find one I like). The "felt" used here is roughish, definitely not going to scratch your macbook, but still.

I'm actually having a really hard time finding a case that I like. I want something that's sleeve-like (in terms of small profile), but maybe with a handle? The ones I have seen like that so far are so hideous. I'd also dig it if it had a little pouch for the charger. I don't know. I've been keeping an eye on this thread though ;)

Anybody thinking about this one?

I love SF Bags and like this one a lot but am really intrigued by the CaseCrown Messenger previously listed in this thread from Amazon. It is cheaper and seems to have more storage room, but I just love the quality of SF Bags so I am torn.

I've got that SF Bag on order. I also just received the Bolt briefcase. It really is high quality, and very useful.

I do however find the bag a little heavier than I expected. Nothing bad really. I've previously used a Jack Spade canvas bag which was designed to carry a 15" Macbook Pro. So I wanted something smaller.

But FYI there is a ballistic version that is supposed to be lighter.

brenthaven has some nice sleeve like bags with handles but they haven't made any for the macbook yet.

I just ordered this in Black ballistic + Chocolate leather from SFBags. Not too heavy, it's 2" thick, but their stuff compresses nicely. The ballistic lines are a bit lighter than the waxed canvas.

I'm thinking about buying a Mochi drawstring bag and then buying one of the cases listed in this thread. I've been meaning to buy a day bag regardless of a new laptop, and the ones I've been looking at are too big for me. I don't need to put that much stuff in my day bag.

In the spirit of minimalism.....

Just tested my Timbuk2 Sutro Messenger and the MacBook fits in the pocket meant for iPad. It is only very slightly padded but the fabric is a soft microfiber type. Won't fit if you have any sort of case on the MacBook. If you use a case, you would need to put it in the main compartment.

A slim elegant laptop in a minimal bag. Perfect.

I received my Booq Viper hardcase and it's a nice piece of case !
Looks excellent quality, paid only 20€ for it on Amazon France. Booq confirmed me that the Macbook 12 will perfectly fit in the 11' case.

Can you post pics of the case with your new MB?

Alright guys, hoping you can help me pick something out. Just got my new Gold MacBook yesterday, and would like a case for it when it's not in use and for transportation.

Most important: want a snug fit! Not something build for the 11" air as they are slightly different dimensions. It seems there are a lot of 11" air sleeves out there being advertised as for the 12" MacBook

  • Would like to keep it around $50 or less
  • Don't want a bag/backpack, just a sleeve/envelop type case, though a pocket would be nice
  • Prefer slim over bulk, don't need drop protection only from scratches/smudges
  • Would prefer leather but open to felt too I guess, with some soft inside to prevent scratches
  • Don't want any zippers, preferably a magnetic flap on top
  • Ideally some way to charge while in the case/access to the port

Any ideas? I've been looking at the following ones, but would like to hear from anyone that has personally used them with their Macbook:

  • 1 This looks good, but want to know if anyone has used it. Is it snug? Pictures show the Air which is why I want a personal review/comment. Also doesn't have a flap and is pricey, but I could live with those.
  • 2 Says its also for the 11" air and now reviews saying if it fits good or not. Anyone tried it?
  • 3 Says its for the air but one review actually says their new Macbook 12" fits perfectly. Just curious if anyone here tried it.
