It's a Fake.

Apple stopped calling the OS "Mac OS X". Its "OS X", so the label of the MacBookPro won't be one from a new product.

Except that they only did that in Mountain Lion, and these MacBooks almost certainly will ship with Lion...

I'd be shocked if Apple releases a 13" MBP that still has a lower resolution than the 13" MBA. At this point it has to be costing the more money to still use that old display...

Doesn't mean we won't see any Retina displays for Macs. Maybe it'll be as a BTO option, or only available on the 15 inch for some reason lol

I mean we could also be looking at a base model here.

Come on people, would you rather them have absolutely no update at all?? lol

The only hope for mega upgrade fanatics is that the 13" MBP has never really been a real Pro laptop, so perhaps all the goods are being saved for the 15"

The thing that surprises me is no wireless faster than 802.11n. Apple talked up a newer wireless standard and it would not be out of bounds to put LTE in a MacBook.

Does anybody have a link to a discussion of how to utilize Intel HD4000 graphics and a TB port to attach 2 or more external displays?

To me this news is good for the stock because this means updating essentially the entire line sooner not later is now likely. Tick-Tock. This was the speed bump, next mod will be a form factor change. Possibly SSD across the line.

As expected

as you may know that quad core ivy bridge cpu re still 45 Watts. so how can we expect a thinner 15 inch macbook pro with retina display as we clearly know that the retina display draws much more power and requires powerful gpu.

As in case of ipad they increased the thickness pf the ipad to accomodate larger battery. but they cannot reduce the size of macbook pro while still accomodating larger battery and more power hungry components.

i dont believe in the thinner macbook pro having the retina display.

Am I the only person saying thank god! I am really not interested in the thin design. For the people who are disappointed, you still have the 13" MBA...

If we get this and iOS 6 is just different map app and redesigned music, app store and iBook apps that certainly will be disappointing. I hope this isn't true. I hope it's not just rumor sites creating unrealistic expectations and false hype. :(

My (Probably incorrect) call is that it's fake.
If you look at the high-res picture you can see that it's been stuck on a cut off, dirty piece of paper. That just simply doesn't seem right...

I've said this over a hundred times it feels like, No the Retina display wouldn't require much more GPU power, and the screen will require more battery, but come on, you really expect it to be THAT drastic?!

Apple must be getting 1280x800 panels for 5 cents each or something. Why would they keep using them? This isn't 2004!

I agree... I chose the 13" MBP for price and form factor, sacrificing screen real estate for it. I would appreciate a boost...

Saw this specs from a Chinese website claiming to be the new specs for Macbook Pro 13'

Hope it is fake because I just sold my macbook pro and waiting for a Retina and Quad Core 13 inch model.......

So fake its not even funny, they would at least drop the disk drive

If the rumour that losing the drive is true, the empty space left behind would mean changing the layout to stick a larger battery?

See the perforations on the left of the 'dirty piece of paper'? It's on a wax paper roll so you can pull the sticker off and put it on a box.

I think this is fake. Have you looked on the size?

32.5 x 22.7 x 2,41 Centimeters. This doesn't Match to the current sizes of the MBP. But it matches greatly to the sizes of the MBA (except the hight)

Well two possible things here:
1) It's fake and the editor used the wrong sizes
2) The MBP got a redesign. But I can't imagine that it could be smaller while keeping in a DVD-Drive.

What do you think?

It's the same size.

iPhone 4S all over again. No wonder Cookie is "doubling down" on secrecy. If this were known earlier all that hype and expectation would have gone... or it would just be redirected, as it is now.

Here's hoping that even if this is real (which i hope it isn't) the 15'' models will be totally different..

How hard can it be to type out those specs on a pdf document generator, print it out, then take a snapshot?

Not saying those specs are necessarily untrue, but maybe you are giving those people way too much credit? :p

but they can not make the macbook pro thinner while having the retina display and the same 45 watt cpu.

This has to be the new Education 'Macbook' and will be priced as such.

Macbook Pro Range Will consist of the 15" only (Retina)

Macbook Air 11",13" & 15" (All Retina)

13" MBP = Gone
17" MBP = Gone

I think there have been instances when things like this are correct. But still, I agree with you.

When this gets announced at WWDC, the presenter better get booed off the stage.
