All good news if true but its not the Apple hardware that I find annoying...its their never ending bug ladened OS.
Big Sur is better referenced as Big Turd.

Do people actually experience a wide range of bugs personally, or do they maybe experience.. one or two bugs, read about other people experiencing different bugs, and put 2 + 2 together to get 500,000?

If the new 16" model can match the performance of the 2019 16" (8-core, 5600m) with double the battery life and no Intel 65 degree idle, id be willing to put up with the workflow downsides and iOS-style limitations of big sur / ARM
What "workflow downsides" and "iOS-style limitations" are these?

I've moved almost seamlessly from the same software on an Intel MBP 16 to an M1 Mac Mini, and can't see any significant difference apart from the M1 Mini running noticeably faster for most tasks.

What software works differently for you? I'm curious!

If the Macbook Pros get unveiled at WWDC, then the bigger iMac should come soon. But if the Macbook Pros are unveiled now, will we have an event in October for redesigned iMac? Bigger iMac and redesigned Macbook Air for October possibly?

That’s hitting the nail on the head that is.

Isn't so much of this just a W. A. G.? I mean, I could say that Apple was going to release new MBP models with 12 core CPU's, 20 core GPU's, replaceable SSD modules, and would be available in 14", 16" and 18" sizes, and be just as accurate as many of the 'professional' prognosticators. *shrug*

I'm hoping for something sooner, as I can swap my 2019 16" for one. (COME ON APPLE!!!)

It's lagging... Like I will be typing, and notice that it's sometimes 3 or 4 characters behind my typing. I'm hoping it's not a bug, or hardware issue (SHIVER) as it's brand new...
You have typing issues on the 16”? I get those sometimes - the cursor will jump a couple of lines. I reported it to Apple but they seem to lose interest.

I also notice typing issues (like now, via my iPad) using the web, but that’s most likely due to the website speed itself.

I am in between getting the M1 Air and Pro at the moment, the Touch Bar is nice but I have always said it’s just another potential failure point, and from what I have heard from most users it’s just not useful at all.

So at this time I am leaning towards the Air mainly because it does not have the Touch Bar, but just want to see what is offered up at WWDC before I pull the trigger.

I am really hoping that either the 14” directly replaces the 13” but doesn’t come in at a $1799 price tag, something around $1499 would definitely be more appealing, or that they also refresh the design of the 13” Pro alongside the higher end models and maybe bump it to $1399.

I just can’t fathom apple firstly having one of their MacBook Pro line having a different design and Touch Bar, with the rest of the line up having no Touch Bar and redesign, and secondly even continuing with the current base pro as the Air is pretty much the exact same minus the fan (which from what I hear barely ever kicks in on the Pro model).
couldn't agree with you more James - 1799 for the new MacBook is quite pricey, considering the current M1 13 is 1299. Even if if does have mini led, and a bigger screen, a £400 price hike seem quite large, considering the new iPad Pro mini led model only had a £100 price rise. If the new 14 inch is priced at £1700 and does not come with mini led, I'm going to but the current M1 13 pro - which I understand can now be bought for around £1150

meant a £500 price hike, not £400

Its funny how there doesn't seem to be any design leaks, whereas the MacBook Air has already leaked.

The 14” will have 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and M1X. 10 cpu core (8 high power and 2 low power) and 16 Core GPU and support of for more external monitors and more ports than M1 13” MacBook pro.

Does anybody have this wallpaper? Me like :)

I'm going to say it how it is, this blogger has bad manners.

Previously dismissing Jon Prosser whilst writing multiple stories on his leaks which some have gone on to be proved deadly accurate which she has then reported on! If his stories have no merit then don't use them.

Thank you for the heads up on that. But no mini led display then. The new processor will obviously be a step up from the current M1, but for most users (like myself), a £400 price hike (even as much as £550) may not be justified, when the current M1 will do everything we need it to (in my case running Windows) in parallels

Notice how MR didn’t include Prosser’s name in the title… clicksbait for you.

Also I think Apple has pretty much cemented that over the last few years WWDC is all about software.

Its funny how there doesn't seem to be any design leaks, whereas the MacBook Air has already leaked.

The only leaks that we have had is from the ransom demand to my knowledge… however although there have been reputable leakers talking about a redesign some are just saying it will be a minor redesign…

So I do have a feeling in my gut, the 14” and 16” MBP might end up just being the current designs just with updated chips, with Apple leaving the full redesign until 2022 when miniLED is available, refreshing the Airs in early 2022, with the MBP refresh coming in late 2022… but who knows…

To support this… I still feel it will be extremely strange for Apple firstly to have the entry level MBP with a Touch Bar with the higher end models not having it… I know the Touch Bar isn’t exactly a PRO feature but it has always been marketed by Apple as such, also the fact the entry level having a different design language to the higher end models seems a bit strange too.

BUT

We could just end up seeing the entry level PRO get shelved as let’s be honest the Air is pretty decent for most users.

Huh. New laptops at WWDC? Who'd a guessed?

Let me try: I predict that outdoor temperatures will be warmer in July*!

* Northern Hemisphere

A lot of folks are going to be disappointed. NOTHING in Apple’s history shows that the cpu in this will be anything other than the M1. People think it will be an M1x or M2. NOPE.

“Then what makes it Pro?”

This is where Apple has PLENTY in its history to let you know.

1. Mini led screen

2. “Studio quality” mic and speakers

3. 4TB storage options (maybe even 8)

4. MagSafe.

5. MAYBE ….MAYBE…32GB of ram. But that’s a big MAYBE.

Smh. Prosser is nothing more than a carnival barker who engages in chicanery. He frequently "sources" his information from others, is frequently incorrect, and when called on his error-filled "predictions" offers a littany of excuses as to why he was wrong.

And he'll continue to do so so long as places like Macrumors takes his mullarky as gospel
Exactly. The word is charlatan.

New Macbook Air is being delivered... Return window is 14 days, WWDC is in 14 days.

Damn Apple, what are you doing to me? Why can't you have a 30 day return window like most e-tailers? 😄
