New Macbook Air is being delivered... Return window is 14 days, WWDC is in 14 days.

Damn Apple, what are you doing to me? Why can't you have a 30 day return window like most e-tailers? 😄

Enjoy the air and keep the cash in your pocket. If you could get away with the air, you do not need the pro :)

How would you do HDMI 2.1 without using up a TB channel? HDMI 2.1 is 48 Gbps, and the TB channels are only 40Gbps - a dongle wouldn’t get you there.
Well this "dongle" does it by using DP Alt-Mode (which as I said, supports up to 80Gbps over a USB-C cable) and then converting internally to HDMI 2.1:

Dumping my 16" hot, laggy, battery sucky, and noisy fans Intel MBP.

Can't wait for the new 16".

So far loved the M1 Mini & M1 iMac so this laptop should be equally if not more awesome!

Oh, that's probably it. I installed a recommended 'privacy' extension that I've never used before, and I think that is blocking some web content that should work. Time to toss that thing, and see if it makes a difference.

'Privacy Possum' is the name...

Thought it would help for protection. Hmm... Over protective?
I don’t use anything like that, but as I design and build websites, I have my browsers set to automatically delete cookies and cache files when I quit. Keeps it all clean and fresh, so I can see changes I’ve made to websites I’m working on.

Yeah, me too. I even have a 'cookie anonymizer' that sends junk info to the cookies. (Um, that might have been that extension I removed)

The web sure is a great place to program in, huh. So many standards that make things just work... :p:p:p:p:cool:

Oh no, a rumor site posting articles of rumors...

This is exactly my thought as well. I just picked up the base M1 MBA over the weekend and did finally convince myself it'll be more than enough for my needs for the forseeable future. Keep that extra money for a new Apple Watch here soon!

Good they return to connectors and even the super useful mag safe and drop the touch bar. And now with more current processors it starts to be fun again to wait for upcoming MPS. Who made all those wrong moves before? And why?

The largest MBP has included discrete graphics. I'm curious if the Apple Silicon approach will finally bring equal graphics performance between the two models.

Today he provided details on the upcoming Mac mini that no one else has provided. Unless it all turns out to be false, he will have once again been a useful and unique source.

1. Kuo says MBP's second half of 2021.
2. Supply chain leaker says new chip went into production in April, which means a summer product.
3. Bloomberg follows with MacBook Pros in summer.

There isn't a single person who does NOT currently believe MacBookPros will be featured at WWDC.

Thank god Ive is gone.

lol, just remember HE left by his own devices/choice. For all you know this new MBP series is probably designed by him or his company. THe current design is really beautiful, so I’m really anxious what this new design will look like.

Mark Gurman also said as early as summer, so Prosser is just regurgitating Gurman’s article. My take on Prosser is that he’s full of it.
Mark gets his info directly from Apple, he’s NOT a leaker - just authorized non-directly-paid spokesperson. Prosser has been proven to leak more detailed information. Mark just feeds what we all talk about here unless direct from Apple. Mark stated end of 2020 for MBP 14” btw, so he’s wrong.

Anyone need a 13" M1 MBP? 🤔

No thanks, we already have that in stores, we want 14” MBP and 16” MBP. ;)

Either way we get it … I still think this round of Mac’s will come in colours, as rumoured (starting with the iMac 2021 M1), will be Tim Cook’s LGBTQ Send off in rainbow of colours.

Prosser provided no additional information, but there are new 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in the works. The new MacBook Pros will feature the most radical redesign to the MacBook Pro lineup since 2016.

Most radical redesign since 2016 doesn't sound like much of a design change. Outside of the touchbar and ports. There isn't a big visual difference from 2015 to 2016. More of a refinement. Heck even the 2008 Unibody to now isn't major.

Nothing like the visual difference from the Pre-Unibody to Unibody models. Going by the some of the mockups. This Macbook redesign seems bigger than just the slight visual refinements we've been getting since 2008. More on the order of the unibody transition. Especially if they follow the color cues of the iMac.

New chip in production in April and we’re to expect new products based on it half a season later?
- no thought to thorough testing under various extremes the chip would go through?
- no thought to creating and testing various motherboards/logic boards?
- no thought to production tests or variants?
- no thought to testing product colour variants before production?

April, currently it’s May, and next month it’ll be June at WWDC on the 7th/10th. heck a LARQ large fridge is taking 2mths from design to finalizing production (and it’s built out of recycled plastics except for 5mm glass lens, electronics for UV-C, battery and traditional filter packages). We’ve NEVER seen a production laptop, desktop, heck even an iPhone take 2 months from chip production to annoucement and shipping under 30 days.

I think the April chip production is going to fall or winter products, not these MBP to be announced in a few weeks.

Not one single person thought that we wouldn’t have a March event this year but it ended up being April 😂 it’s all speculation at this point.

To be honest it would in no way surprise me if Apple literally just throw an M1X into the higher end MBP’s as they are now for this year, with a redesign and an M2 next year with miniLED…

Who’s to say that Apple originally planned a refresh of the MBP line design this year but now miniLED has been delayed so severely, they have just thought to hell with it… throw an M1 based chip in the current models as that will keep the consumers and share holders happy for the next 12 months.

It’s just strange how… the entry level iMac gets a full redesign for M1 (no miniLED I might add), yet the MacBook Air and Pro have no redesign with their M1 introduction, something tells me Apple is going to continue with the current design until 2022… then refresh the Air lines design first either late this year or early next with the Pro line following suit later…

Could apple potentially get away with another 12 months with the current design and Touch Bar… ??? Something tells me they could.

The leaks of a redesign only heated up after the ransom attack, but that design could be for next years model… it in no way means we are going to see it this year.
