It would make sense to introduce it at WWDC in order to allow developers time to prepare, but more likely an August or September announcement
One can make an argument that his 1998 iMac design saved appleThank god Ive is gone.
If you need a new MacBook Pro, buy a new MacBook Pro.Yes, it is looking like no mini-led this time round. Shame as I have been holding on purchasing a new MacBook for quite some time due to the rumours of a 14 inch screen and mini led. If no mini led happens this year, think I'll just purchase last years M1 MacBook Pro/air, and sell it the following year when hopefully we do get it. Was even considering buying the iPad Pro mini led, but again decided against it because was expecting mini led on the MacBook Pro.
Go back to WWDC 2017, it was chock full of hardware releases and announcements. It won’t happen, WWDC is entirely software focused only
don’t forget he mentioned last year hardware like AirPods max being revealed for WWDC last year and yeah.. software event only Prosser
He has a mixed track record. But he shared a perfect rendering of the Airtag, down to the regulatory text-Mark Gurman also said as early as summer, so Prosser is just regurgitating Gurman’s article. My take on Prosser is that he’s full of it.
The new MacBook Pro will still have USB-C.If the rumors were true, this Macbook Pro will probably the biggest backtracking Apple has ever done.
going back to magsafe, dropping the touch bar, going back to legacy ports. Although it will satisfy some youtubers to create more clickbaits, I would really question Apple's "vision." Do we really need those legacy ports, considering we're progressing more towards remote working and cloud (hastened by the pandemic)?
I thought Apple ditching magsafe for USB-C charging is for the better. This means no more expensive proprietary Apple only charger. All Apple needs to do is put USB-C ports on both sides of the laptop for versatile charging locations. Going back to the proprietary magsafe seems backwards, although it does give Apple more profit for people needing to replace their chargers/cables.
depends on what you qualify as low end? to me it was always the 15inch with integrated graphics. They have always had a low end 13, but have never had a low end 15/16.
I’m unsure what exactly is legacy about HDMI? Literally the most common media interface. If the rumors were true, this Macbook Pro will probably the biggest backtracking Apple has ever done.

yes, you are so right - there will always be something better. WWDC is only a few weeks away and if nothing gets announced there, then yes, I will bite the bullet so to speak and get the current M1 MacBookIf you need a new MacBook Pro, buy a new MacBook Pro.
you can wait and wait and wait and wait and wait, because whatever will be announced next year will be better than what comes this year, and whatever comes a year after that will be better than the year that came before.
If the New MacBook pros don’t have mini LED, it’s not that big of a deal. From everything I’ve read and watched on the new iPad Pro, it doesn’t make that big of a difference in regular, everyday usage.
The current LCDs they use on the 16 inch MacBook Pro are fantastic, you won’t be disappointed.
OK but the 24 inch iMac and the 16 inch MacBook Pro we’re never going to have the exact same processor. Ones made for regular consumers, ones made for professional video editors, audio engineers, etc.not happening ... iMac 24 just announced and the "new" MBPs will feature M2 ... I do not think Apple is ready to announce unless we are weeks away from shipping, and I do not see that happening until late Q3 at the earliest ...
But it's not like you cannot use HDMI with current Macbooks. You just need a dongle. In fact, pretty much most Windows ultrabooks use dongles as well. The only difference is Apple sells the dongle separately, while most Windows OEMs include at least 1 basic dongle (usually USB-C to USB-A + HDMI) with the laptop.I’m unsure what exactly is legacy about HDMI? Literally the most common media interface.
It was stupid to remove HDMI to begin with. Its very common to need to connect laptops to TV’s or projectors. A dedicated port for that is obviously a must.
