As someone who pre-pandemic gave presentations in many, many venues -- for the past 5+ years, they've ALL had an HDMI cable sticking out to plug your laptop into an Epson projector. EVERY venue. I'd also argue that Apple should have included VGA ports in its pro laptops prior to that -- because every venue had a VGA cable sticking out to plug into their Epson projector.
macOS hasn't supported VGA since macOS Sierra. VGA needs to go away, period. Anyone still having to use it has my sympathy, but they’re on their own.

No Touch Bar option and I’ll pass. Happy to pay extra for that feature however.
Me 2. I love the TB. It's been on my last 3 MacBook Pro's up to my current 16". I didn't realize how much I relied on it until I switched over to use my iMac that doesn't have a TB. By default I went around looking for the TB and realized I had to make do without it. Bummer if they remove it based on a few whiny people on forums.

Whatever they are doing is working, then! Buy Apple stock. :)
This. anyone who buys a lot of Apple products and loves and enjoys Apple products, it’s a no brainer to buy Apple stock. You’re buying into something You believe and want to prosper. I own Apple stock for the very reason. I believe in Apple long term and they make excellent products.

if you don’t own Apple stock, you’re missing out. Do yourself a favor and invest now and hold for long term.

Should be an interesting WWDC. I don’t need the power of the M2 so pulled the trigger on an M1 MacBook Air recently. I imagine the new MacBook Pros will be mind blowing performance wise.

I’ve got a 2019 16” MacBook Pro that I got in March of 2020. I’m gonna try to unload that pretty quickly after these are announced. What I don’t know, though, is how to work a trade in on a purchase financed on an Apple Card.

powerful GPU is useless to anyone outside of creators. Still no support for engineers workflow to utilize any of that GPU power.

Not ignorant to the fact I know that is not an Apple problem but a software problem....but I can still complain about it.

Until then my P-Series ThinkPad will be my workhorse.

You do realize the thickness Apple is constrained with, correct?

Not a MBP vs. iPad (Air/Pro) comparison — it’s the best I could find with a quick search -- but it still showcases the problem. Look how much depth the MBA display (a.k.a. “lid”) takes up versus the entire thickness of the MBA — it’s about half the iPad at best.
"do I realize?"

No, I don't think I do.

I think if Apple puts a garbage camera in their high end work station machine, they will have a lot of explaining to do.

You might not think so, but that's how I feel about it.

I also wonder if people realize how absolutely condescending it is to say "you do realize..."

I know this isn’t a popular opinion but I’d rather they keep the Touch Bar instead of going back to function keys. I’d hope for the Touch Bar to evolve. Individual, yet continuous, touch sensitive keys with an OLED display behind each one in the top row. This way the keys can adapt to their context while still feeling like keys and gestures like slide can be supported by running your finger across them to move a control bar for volume/brightness and playback scrubbing.

That would be fine with me, but if they can’t do that then the TB needs to go.

You can buy from a retailer with a longer return window. Amazon is one option, although they are currently backordered on the MacBook Air.

I would use a burner device for a few days while you wait out the announcement.
Good point. I have an iMac at home but sold my MBP when work sent us home last April. Haven’t needed a mobile Mac since then. Maybe I can move the iMac to the office for A couple of weeks.

if this is true, then Adobe should be updating the rest of the Adobe Creative suite to run natively on M1 or later silicon.

WWDC without a new ARM based Mac would be a big PR disaster for Apple. Got to show continued progress or that means progress of getting away from Intel has stalled.
I disagree. Apple stated their timeline for their transition so as long as they stay within that or sooner the press shouldn't be upset.

Because it’s located in the same semiconductor package as the CPU and GPU! To facilitate low latency! As a corollary to the UMA architecture!
Good, ok so why they can't charge a freaking decent price if we choose more on ram right away. $1400 or even $800 or so is ridiculous.
