I don't know...

The Touch Bar looks actually more useful and powerful than expected. Ok that's cool.
Prices are as crazy as before.

But more importantly : NO NEW MAC PRO. NO Mac Mini update. We're not tasking for new designs, just updated procs , graphics and ports. Wow...

If by summer of next year , they don't deliver serious upgrades along the whole line, that could officialy mean Apple is abandoning the Mac and becoming only a iDevice manufacturer.

I never thought I would actually see MS steal the show in my life..

Last year the high end 15" Pro in my signature (The high end optioned spec) was £1999. Now it's £2,699.

That's so much money for the same 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, Dedicated GPU etc. It's just too much money. I wasn't looking to upgrade anyway, maybe in 2 more years time when my Apple Care runs out, but I actually feel like I made the right decision buying earlier and saving the £700 minus a pound.

Touch Bar looks great, new colour accurate display is great, larger trackpad is great. The whole laptop is really nice but I don't think those things are worth the extra cost. Maybe a lot of it is the pound falling to the dollar but still, too much in my opinion.

I'm sorry but the pricing is ridiculous. $3,000 CAD for entry 15". I remember when I got mine 15" for $2,200. I get that there is new stuff here but usually pricing remains more/less the same while introducing new technologies. Counting for inflation, $2,400 would be reasonable but to start at $3,000?

The new MacBook Pros are nice, but those prices! The base cost of a 13" (with Touch Bar) is up $500!!! Having a new 13" Pro SKU without the Touch Bar feature is also weird especially considering it costs $200 more as well.

Promoting an LG branded display and no new iMac, Mac Pro, or Mac Mini means this "Mac event" was a very big disappointment for many people. It was an Accessibility and Apple TV event that revealed the new MacBook Pro at the end.

Still happy with my 12-inch MacBook and I'll continue to wait for a newly designed 5K iMac before upgrading my late-2013 model.

No iMac update
No Mac Mini update
No Mac Pro update
No Macbook Air update (RIP)

No MagSafe
No USB-A ports
No SD-Card slot
No DisplayPort

Dongleware galore (no mention of adapters either)

Higher Prices (much higher in Canada)
Gimmick T-bar

I think I'm done here.

I think we're all done here. With Microsoft launching an iMac killer, and no new Mac Pro, expect massive switching to Windows, Linux and Hackintosh.

Apple can't innovate anymore.

At least we'll get the "old" MBP cheap now. That will get us over the next 3-4 years until Apple get's back to their senses.

I swear, I'd rather spend the next ten years with my über-precious mid-2014 13" rMBP, than let my Apple fanboyness fall for the (obvious) direction this company has taken to follow.

Who lot of crying about Pro models from people that aren't pro users in here. If you don't spend 4+ hours a day in pro apps, you aren't considered a pro user.

Real pros don't cry about the price because these machines help them get their job done faster and better. If these new machines shave a couple hours after their work in a month, they've paid for themselves even if they cost 2x as much.

Fair enough. I use a Mac at work and at home, but don't run anything that would be considered to be extremely taxing on the machines. So I'd be fine with the regular MacBook and still be able to do what I do every day. I certainly don't need a Pro model.

Seems like the 13" no touch bar model has a lower power 15W CPU - the Iris 540 in the no touch bar model is for lower power CPUs -- the Iris 550 in step-up 13" with the touch bar is effectively identical except for that it only come with higher power 28W CPUs. The 13" no touch bar model also significantly higher battery capacity - 54.5-watt-hour vs 49.2-watt-hour is a >10% battery capacity boost.

How on earth are both models rated for similar battery life? The 13" no touch bar model should clearly have a battery longevity advantage here right?

At least they have a pro level video card option for photographers and video editors. Hoping that new GPU can give Capture One Pro 9 a significant exporting boost. The current upgraded GPU is ssssssslllllllloooooowwwwww.
