I just rang apple and had the lady request faster shipping. She said that UPS will get back to get within 24 hours and if approved it will make my MBP come around wednesday :) Dont no why they dont have this as a paid option to be honest.

Finally status has changed to Prepared for Shipping

Placed my order at 13.40 GMT on 17 October and just checked my order at 17.45 GMT and the status has changed, I was worried it wasn't going to!

Still quoted as 3-4 November for delivery, perhaps it will be here by Halloween though!

My card still has not been charged though, nor do I think there is a hold on the account for the amount as my full balance is available to me, weird.

Cheers

AV

Apple are now saying my MBP will be here on the 1 nov! Are the UPS dates normally before this? just the 1st in a sat and i wont be at work then to collect it! :(

On the flip side saturday is perfect for me.... unless I get switched to the saturday :p

Woohoo. Shipped! ordered last thursday. Expected fri 31st hoping it will be delayed until saturday as that's the only day I'm in :(
Email says the I'll receive on or before the 4th.

:p I know, I know!

Might be a case of ringing UPS when we get tracking numbers and asking if it can be changed to a saturday delivery?

Anoyone Sure?

Im pretty sure but hope u lot can back me up- ups do fly at weekends, just dont deliverfrom the final depot to your house- that correct??

Correct.

Mine started its road trip from China on monday and i recieved it on friday. Just to give you a feeling on how long does it take. Customs did not let it in EU for almost 2 days :)

Yh- Mines Just got the last leg to go (from germany fly over to GB), just then it'll sit in the depot untill monday :( oh well, just gotta wait!

So Apple does shipping from Shanghai on saturdays? My order went to "Prepared for Shipment" Saturday 25 around 3 am GMT+1

How long did you guys's order stay in the "prepared for shipment" status?

I hope the thing ships this weekend! :)

'Delivery #1: Dispatching Soon: We are preparing these items for dispatch and this part of your order cannot be cancelled or changed.'

Nice :D Looks like Amazon is getting ready to ship.

Eugh, just spoke to Apple. I hate it that I get put through to an American call centre now. I've always found the Irish people to be ten times friendlier and easier to deal with. My order's a big vague blob. It might be that my MacBook Pro is still sitting in Shanghai for some unknown reason, it might be that I will only be issued with a tracking number when all my order items (including printer, Applecare and iPod nano) are together, i.e. in the UK, it might be that a ferret's run off with my MacBook and I'll get it in six months time with teeth marks all over it.

I really wish the Apecode website still worked, that provided the best tracking by a long shot - especially for multi-part orders.

Apparently my estimated delivery date is now the 4th November. When I click "Track this shipment" for one of the other items in my order (all have this apart from the MacBook Pro), it says "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 29 Oct 2008". Which is odd since how can a status update be produced 5 days before the date listed. It also says in there estimated delivery date 31 Oct 2008.

I'm going to have to pray that mine's on the same flight as some of the rest of you guys and that when yours hit the UK I'll finally be able to track it. :( I'm hoping it'll arrive in the UK with twynne and MH01's machines.

Mine's exactly the same. It says my nano will be here on the 29th along with apple care but no tracking data on my MBP yet but says will be here on the 4th! Hoping it gets here for the 29th though.

Still no tracking number. Anyone else that had theirs shipped yesterday received a UPS number yet?

Looks like I'm in a similar position to you Spanky.

I'm also having a Nano, Printer and AppleCare, and in my order tracking these have a shipping number, however when you click through the MBP is also included on the list.

There is however no UPS tracking number on this page.

Spanky, I guess we are on the same "boat". I'm also unable to track my shipment. My MBP is being delivered to Spain, but apparently since I ordered some additional iPhone docks the MBP must go first to Netherlands, and then repackaged with the docks and send it again. For the MBP the Apple order status says:

Shipped on: Oct 21, 2008 via Merge In Tnst NL Til
Delivers: 03 Nov, 2008 - 04 Nov, 2008

and no tracking number at all, and below that for the iPhone docks:

Shipped on: Oct 21, 2008 via Walsh Western B.V.
Tracking #: WW00XXXXXXXXXXXX

Clicking on that tracking number shows the Apple shipment status page for both the MPB and docks that shows no carrier assigned and as delivery status:

In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days

Just for info, placed the order on 15 Oct around GMT and initially indicated an expected delivery for 3 Nov 2008, then on 21 Oct Apple sent me an email confirming the shipping and indicating a delivery date by or before 30 Oct. Then on 22 Oct the shipment status page changed to that "In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days" and has been like that for the last 3 days with an estimated delivery date of 31 Oct.

I guess I should receive an update by Tuesday, and hopefully have it here next Friday... I hope you have more luck and receive it earlier.

expected arrival date for shops?

i'm thinking about buying the new basic macbook pro (2.4GHz) from the southampton store in west quay. does anyone know when they're likely to have any instock?

Still no tracking number. Anyone else that had theirs shipped yesterday received a UPS number yet?

Mine shipped yesterday and I've got a UPS tracking number which suggests delivery on Monday (!) which I don't believe for a minute. This was for a MBP (2.8ghz/250GB/7200) only. The latest UPS status shows:

APELDOORN,
NL 10/25/2008 3:44 P.M. PACKAGE DATA PROCESSED BY BROKERAGE. WAITING FOR CLEARANCE

I'd be very surprised if all of us that shipped yesterday (to Europe/UK) didn't go in the same shipment. Maybe their system just isn't capable of showing all of the info for split shipments. I hope all of yours are in the same. :)

@ IrI Mine was shipped yesterday and no tracking number either yet, nothing might happen until monday.

@ adaers I was in the southampton store this morning! Don't know about stock levels I didn't stay long there are far too many kids in there on saturdays.

@ twynne Keep us up to date on your shipping status, you're very lucky if that's true!

So how many days is it taking from shipping to arriving? Earlier than apples predictions?
