I got my invoice today, (shipped on the 26th) (ordered 20th at 10am PDT time, nt sure what that is in GMT).
If I got my invoice, and money is taken off the card, MBP was shipped on the 26th (will be merged with black ipod). I dont understand why I still havent got a tracking number
I would have expected some sort of tracking number by today, Ideally I would love for it to be delivered by tomorrow, I fly out to rome on Friday and that means another 4 days !!!!!! :'(

You won't get a tracking number until the very end because you have more than one item in your order. I'd guesstimate that you'll get your tracking code on Friday and it'll be delivered on Monday. You could get it on Friday if you're lucky.
Mine was shipped on the 24th, people who ordered just MacBook Pros and were shipped on the same day had theirs delivered yesterday. I still haven't received mine or a tracking number. Apple said to me last night that I should have a tracking number within 24 hours so if I'm lucky, I'll get mine delivered tomorrow.

Mackbook pro 2.53 7200 ordered with time capsule through education store a few hours after it opened has just arrived. a total of 5/6 days earlier than apples estimated delivery date!
no ipod to hold things up but it did have to merge with time capsule.
come on post room, bring it up!

I will keep my fingers crossed for you (and myself as well). We have precisely the same dates. I talked to a sales rep from Apple yesterday and I was told that the tracking number does indeed not appear until the day before the delivery for merged orders. He speculated that I would get my tracking number friday - with delivery the next business day(!?) - at the earliest. (He said 3-5 days from yesterday or 5-7 days from the initila shipping). But I am from Denmark, so maybe your situation is different...

I think its really bad that cause we ordered more we have to wait longer

Mine says "Delivers: 31 Oct, 2008 - 03 Nov, 2008" but the 'tracking' for the other items in my order say "Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 31 Oct 2008 (Subject to change" and "Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 29 Oct 2008".
If I call up Apple I sometimes get told it'll be here by Friday, sometimes I get told by Monday.
I was told before, however, that a "merge in transit" is only supposed to delay a shipment by one day, which is why I was hoping to have received a tracking number yesterday and have it delivered today since everyone that only ordered a MBP and had it shipped out on the same day got theirs yesterday. Another morning and still no status or tracking updates. This is getting ridiculous at this point, 5 days since shipping and not a word about it since. Some of you TNT folks that shipped out on the 24th (same date as mine) seem to be getting updated shipping info saying the packages are in the UK, so I hope I'm in the same boat as you guys, just sans tracking info.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, except mine says 'Estimated Delivery Date 30 Oct 2008 (Subject to change)', the 'In Transit' date is the same as yours on mine. I still don't have a tracking number either, so not sure if is likely to turn up today. Waiting for that Nano to merge with my order!

It sounds like they don't bother even ordering the iPods and printers until the MacBook Pro's been delivered to their depots.

I contacted Apple again last night and they assured me there was no hold-up with the printer or the Nano, and that all they were waiting for to merge was the MBP.
Mine was shipped on the 24th too. My estimated delivery date is still the 1st November (this hasn't changed since it was shipped - initial estimate was 4th/5th).
Needless to say I'm REALLY hoping it's here for Friday so I can play over the weekend, but not having a tracking number is a nightmare.

I know, unless they are saving the uk stock for those "paying full price" or are just taking there time to save money as it is a student price I don't know. I still stand by what i said yesterday which is that they should post out the 5 things now and then post the ipod later on its own. It won't cost that much and would seem to be the sensible expedient thing to do. The mbp is the main part of the order.

I believe I'm stuck with you guys as well, but I don't have an iPod or Printer waiting to be merged... I ordered AppleCare. So that probably just means they are still waiting for the MBPs not the extras.
I've just spoken to Apple again and apparently it looks like my MacBook Pro hasn't reached the depot yet. It might be that Apple don't use UPS for the shipping of multi-part orders over from Shanghai so instead of UPS' faster shipping around the world they might use some other company that's slower at transporting stuff. Apparently my MacBook Pro isn't officially due to get to the UK depot until Friday and I should have it delivered by November 4th/5th.
Apparently there's a chance things might go quicker and the lady I spoke to is looking into it and will be emailing me soon. I'll post any more info as and when I get it. I really don't want to wait yet another week.

I just spoke to someone called "TJ", he said that my order has two ETAs, one the 31st, the other the 6th! then he had a closer look and said it will be the 6th! That is such a shame, I wish I had just gone to the Apple store in town and bought one and ignored the extra discount. I know these things take time but to ship a customers item from China to the UK and have it take a week and a half is insane. I know they have to go through their stages but there must be a better way to do it. Surely there are enough orders for the UK that they could fly a plane load of macbooks to the UK and distribute them from there, why have so many stops in-between? It is like one poster said a few pages back, how could this be "green", one flight must be better than three?

That is a joke!!! man if thats true and we dont get them until the 4th (even thought the lastest mine should come is the 4th) i will be demanding free stuff for waiting longer just for buying more stuff!!!!
