latitudehopper, I'm also on the 28th Shanghai shipment, but I've got a multiple item order (MBP 2.4ghz and ipod nano) so I don't have any tracking information. Anybody else out there who does and would like to post tracking info for the 28th shipment?

When I ordered I was advised 7-10 November for delivery although this has been revised now to 4 November - so if that works out I'd be pretty happy.

I have a nano in there also, my estimated delivery has never changed, what causes the change?

Unless of course, its an African Carrier Pigeon :D

Hahahahahahahaha!!

On a different note, the 80xxxxxxxx is their own delivery reference number. They used to use Kuhne & Nagel to handle all their internal shipping stuff and until about a year ago you could track stuff using this number via the www.apecode.com website. Unfortunately Kuhne & Nagel closed the loop hole that the apecode website used meaning we now get no info. They do, however, supply this stuff to Apple - Apple just doesn't like to have messy tracking info pages and so don't pass it on to us unless we force it out of them on the phone. From what I remember in the past, you used to get a different 80xxx number for TNT tracking later on.

I just rang Apple again and got through to a nice american lady this time. She first of all wasn't willing to confirm a definite delivery date and said around the 5th and 6th Nov. I just said that it can't possibly take that long to get from Shanghai to Cardiff if shipped on the 25th and asked her to tell me where my mbp was right now. At a push she was able to tell me it was in UK customs at the moment being processed. She then said it should get through customs later today, get to the depot by tomorrow to merge with my printer (which again when pushed confirmed was already there waiting) and both get to me on Friday 31st. I will get a tracking number with either UPS or TNT when they merge and are assigned a courier which should be tomorrow at some stage.

I ordered 2.8 320gig 7200 rpm + printer on the 18th, which then shipped on the 25th, early evening. (though it does say on invoice it shipped on 26th but this is Shanghai time)

Well perhaps if you had two pigeons and sorta tied a rope between em and hung it off of that. im told it works better with coconuts though.

The tracking details on my printer have just been updated when I refreshed the page. Under the Current Delivery Status heading it changed to "In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days" Don't know if this is due to my call to apple 10 minutes ago.

I just got off the phone with apple and apparently my package has just been sitting somewhere(couldnt make out what the operator said) for the past 3-4 days, and it will be shipped on friday and I should get it by tuesday...
GREAT SERVICE.
I cant wait to get a flawed macbook LATE and then have to return it

2.8ghz 250GB 7200RPM Mbp, Nano, Printer etc package, changed to prepared for shipment today. Remind me what that actually means? Do we go Not yet shipped, prepared for shipment, shipped, tracking-frenzy?

Adding more stats to the pile...

you will now have to way about 30 hours to get a shipped message, then apple sticks it into the ether and a week or so later you get a helpful message saying it is out for delivery... this is my expectation.

Oh FFS!!

My status has changed to In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days

What a joke!!

You'll be stuck on prepared for shipment for between a few hours up to about three days. Then it should change to "shipped" and if its only a MacBook Pro you're ordering, it should take about 4 days to be delivered but you'll be given a UPS tracking number shortly after its been shipped. If you've got other items on your order then you won't hear any more for 5/6 days, at which point you should get a tracking number and have it delivered the next day.

Ohh! A change! I now have this...

In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 03 Nov 2008

So that is still not the 31st as was once mentioned. What can we hypothesise? Does the status change mean it has landed in the West?

Yess!! I am so happy, I have my new MBP sitting right in front of me! Amazon sent this out really quickly, and I don't have any issues with crooked keys :D

Hope everybody elses comes soon!

Just wait for a bit guys, my status just changed to In-transit to destination country, with no updates for 4-5 days as well. That contradicts what Apple customer support said to me personally on the phone, and from what I've read, also a few other people on the forum.. which gave estimated deliveries for the 31st.

So don't pay attention to the status page now if you got shipped on the 24th and don't have tracking yet... wait till tomorrow evening and you should get your tracking info. If I don't get any tracking information by 6 tomorrow I'm going to hound them about it again and I'll update you folks with the results.

just checked my ups status folks and it says APELDOORN,
NL but "Exception" beside it. What, pray tell, does this constitute??? can anyone please tell me?

anyone who can tell me what "Exception" means?? I'm stuck in Apeldoorn, NL but am unawares as to what's going on with this package! thanks

It seems they're both related - I've been keeping enough of an eye on my MBP's tracking info to see it cycle through both of those - it showed the first message, then a little later (perhaps just half an hour or so) it showed the second, albeit saying the 1st rather than 3rd. What this means precisely though I don't know.

Never received the 1st one. Very odd though. I still haven't had an update yet they expect it to come tomorrow. Something tells me me that my train home is going to be a waste of money.

wow, you got a tracking number? that was quick, i thought you were listed as not shipped just recently! well done!

I just spoke to apple about my baseline MBP and 32gb iPod touch order. The order has been despatched from Shanghai, and will arrive in the UK on Monday 3rd November, where it'll be transferred to UPS.

From here, I'll be able to track it, and it should be delivered on Tuesday 4th.

This is just a note for anyone else in the same situation :)

Wtf ?!

status update:

Estimated Delivery Date: (Subject to change) 29 Oct 2008

Current Delivery Status: Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date 29 Oct 2008

After 2 weeks I now have a tracking # and Carrier, but the tracking # is the same as the 808***** number I always had !

and

Assigned Carrier = UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER

WTF ?!

Just called them again and the MBP still hasn't arrived in the UK (expected 31st)!!

Expected delivery 4th/5th November, jesus wept!!

I have also just phoned again. I was told it would arrive by tomorrow/Friday at the latest.

Now I have been told that I will be lucky if I get my tracking number by Friday. So even though the site says "30 Oct 2008" for expected delivery - its more likely to be another week after this.

What a joke.
