My status has now changed to: Preparing handover to final carrier
But, that said, the lady at Apple said don't expect it this week. Not happy about the confusion that surrounds this - but I have no choice but to wait. I just hope it arrived by Friday.

No idea, sorry. The exception thing is a ups thing and I haven't had any ups tracking with my order. A few people got it a few pages back though and I think discussed it so I'd say have a look at what they said and how long it delayed their orders.
If you only order a MacBook Pro then UPS deal with the shipment all the way from Shanghai to your door. If you order a multi-part order then they use a different handling company to get it the MacBook Pro and all your other order items to a UK depot, then it gets repackaged and handed over to TNT (normally) for final delivery to you. It seems that this other handling company is a fair bit slower than UPS at getting things shipped around the world.
This whole tracking/ordering issue is really irritating.
Is everyone in the same boat who ordered more than just the MBP?
In my case when I log in to mu account on the apple website and click on my orders I have a brief summary saying I orderd a MBP and ipod Nano on the 17th shipped on the 25th and expect to arrive on the 6-7th of November, but when I go to track this shipment I am told it has been shipped and its estimated to arrive on the 31st (GMT) and then it says that the current status is that it is in transit to destination country and will be updated in 4-5 days.
I have loads of different dates and none are the same. And all this because I ordered a iPod aswell

a long - long wait.
the guy on the phone told me when i ordered that although i was paying by wire transfer i'd still be put on the waiting list. what a lie! they got my payment through on the 20th though - but nothing else I can do now- just sit back and wait and hope it gets here before the weekend.. if it leaves china at 9am china time tomorrow morning.. it gives it a good long day to travel with the time differences..
anyone else gonna be on my shipment? lol

Nothing we can do about and it's all part and parcel of buying a product of this type straight after release.
No other companies releases get this much hype, the longer wait when ordering multiple items is a pain but when I think I'm actually getting a printer and a ipod for free pretty much... it isn't all THAT bad.

Oooh, my tracking (when I click on "Track this item" for any of the non-MBP parts of my order) has changed and now says "Preparing handover to final carrier". I don't remember seeing that earlier. Maybe, if I'm incredibly lucky, I'll get given a tracking number and find out I'll be getting my order tomorrow. Doubtful, but at least there's hope!
I partly agree with you. However, Apple aren't offering the iPod and printer as an act of kindness - their still profiting from it in one way or another - and as a few people have said, those of us who are ordering more from them (and therefore giving them more money) are worse off
- where else in any premium market area does it work like that?Also, the fact that some of their staff have told customers that their orders have been delayed because of the iPods - when they're on the website as available in 24 hours - is, quite frankly, stupid. I appreciate that for business reasons they may use different stock from different locations etc. but again the argument that those who order more are worse off comes back.

estimated delivery date has shifted from nov 6th to nov 3rd. Reckon fri could still figure from arriving in Holland tomorrow to ireland?
Lucky you then. My order still says 7th. I ordered on the 18th as well but I added a mighty mouse and sleeve so they add 1 workday, but it's a riddle to me why your delivery date has shifted so much and mine hasn't.
My mate ordered an iPod with his MBP, shipped on the 22nd, delivery date of the 29th. Today he received his TNT tracking number but no laptop.
My delivery date has always been the 30th but I'm not expecting it to arrive tomorrow any longer. Worried it might slip to next week which I think would be unacceptable.

Congrats on that new update man, thats a great sign that you'll be getting it 30-31st. I'm still stuck on In Transit to Destination Country, 4-5 days estimated till update... but I've still got hope that the customer care representative that I spoke to in the morning got it right and that we actually are all coming in together over the next two days.... Anyways, closing days seem to be coming for us soon, so keep us up to date, hope you actually manage to get yours tomorrow!

Good morning everybody. Another day of speculation and patience. I'm still in transit and on time... beautifully vague.
Just to update this. His laptop is out for delivery this morning so this gives us a timescale for those of us waiting on a MBP plus iPod, printer etc.
Basically, his was delivered the day after he received his proper tracking number with TNT, so if we want ours to arrive by the end of this week we need that tracking number today. Fingers crossed.
Ha, I have my netbook (sadly my primary comp. till my macbook arrives) next to my bed, and have been waking up each morning to refresh the shipment status and check on you folks.
