I just had my other half call up to see if she can find out where it was and they said "well its pretty much where it was the last time you called" ;-) he he they are tracking me and not my package!

Placed: 15th October (early PM)
Shipped: 24th October

When calling Apple from the UK, you can call 02082181000, cheaper than 0800 on mobiles I believe.

wow, you got a tracking number? that was quick, i thought you were listed as not shipped just recently! well done!

Well it suddenly stated 'shipped' this morning and then it got as far as holland today. Now more red tape it seems. Ihope this is not a long delay. Would be great if it got to Ireland this week

anyone in the know tell me if 'Exception' on tracking means a long delay? Has it happened to anyone else recently?

Yeah I got the 'UPS Internal Activity Code' message and the status changed to 'Exception'.

so perhaps the guy in customs who was supposed to sign for this batch was off in the toilet or something? good old european customs

Lol. Mine has changed back to the normal status though. Maybe he just came back from the toilet. ;)

EDIT: It just changed back to 'Exception'. Damn it. And yes, that's how often I check the tracking page.

well for fear of gutterizing this line of questionable customs activity, I only wonder if the dutch customs are finished shift for the day?! Will it continue overnight? Could we be detained for 48hrs? Is there an epidemic inside the batch? all signs point to red bloody tape...dammit

The exception just means that the paperwork is in Holland but the goods are still stuck in China or Korea waiting for customs there to release it.

(But it can also mean that I stole your order as Apeldoorn is near my home town. :))

do you have an idea on how long this process has taken in the past? I'm presuming that this happens all the time?! Perhaps not checking the UPS tracking for 24hrs will help

Im confuesd I have order a MBP with an upgraded 2550GB 7200 rpm HD and a ipod Nano with Education Discount on the 17th of October. I got an estimate of the 6-7th of November (wasnt happy bout that) at the end of last week the status changed to shipped and on the tracking page it said ETA the 31 October (Happy bout that) Now it says it is in transit to destination country - next update 4-5 business days

If it is expected to arrive on the 31st (2 days) why is the next update 2-3 days after it should be at my house? I still have no tracking number yet.

WTF is going on!!!!

Ordering the iPod at the same time means you don't get any tracking until the last day. It also delays your delivery by 3-4 days compared to a straight MacBook Pro order. If it was shipped on the 24th then you should have it by Friday hopefully.

Ordered 16th
Shipped 24th
Estimate del: 31st Oct

No tracking (ordered an ipod)

Today this came up: In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days

So which should I listen to that message or the estimate?

Well it happens all the time. If you read the posts before you you'll see that. Your goods are still moving but the exception just means that the paperwork (which is digital) are in Holland but your goods aren't. So it just takes till customs of China or Korea releases the package.

Interesting how the ipod can slow down the delivery when it ships in 24h. Another point is the policy apple has by doing this, the more a customer buys the worse the service... I ordered mu MBP on the 14th and today i got the "In-transit to destination country, with no updates for 4-5 days " witch is 2 days after promised delivery, and of course no tracking number even after apple promised me one when i called them yesterday. Extremely poor customer service from apple, not at all the standard one usually gets when ordering premium goods...

Yeah, I ordered on the 14th as well. A MacBook Pro 2.53 7200rpm 250gb, Applecare, iPod Nano and HP C4480 printer. Shipped on the 24th and I haven't heard anything online since. MacBook Pros ordered on their own that shipped on the 24th were delivered to customers yesterday. From what I've coaxed out of Apple on the phone, my MacBook Pro should reach the UK depot tomorrow. It'll then be repackaged with my other items and I might have it by Friday if I'm lucky, which would be a 3 day penalty for having the audacity to order extra products from Apple.

ok, so take a wild guess, or if you know from experience, do you think it could arrive in ireland this fri/sat?

hey mr. deluxe, do you have any idea on how long the packages stay in 'Exception' in china? a day? 2 days?? hope lives strong here and friday is not long away. Monday, on the other hand, is!

Just spoke to a very kind american lady at apple trying to get more info and express our veiws on buying more waiting longer etc! After about 10 minutes of me saying 'where is my MBP i want it now!' and 'do you know where it?' the lady could tell me nothing! The best she could tell me was that everything looked ok on the order... no tracking number... didnt no where it was... nothing! The only thing she could say is the the iPod and Printer are in the UK waiting for the MBP to arrive!

She said it wont be here before friday but a small chance that it will be here on friday! best chance is 3/4! :(
