hey spanky, when did you order? I ordered a mb+touch on 14th and have a delivery date for tomorrow but no tracking numbers.

None of us hoping for delivery tomorrow have got tracking numbers. We're hoping to see something fairly soon this afternoon or we can write this week off.

For those who already have their macbooks, do the fans still spin up when watching flash video? My BlackBook hates flash, gets all excited!

Still on

In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 03 Nov 2008

Not sure what the 3rd is all about as above it there is an est. del. date of the 4th.

Just spoken to a manager at Apple, since I was getting very annoyed with being told different things!
She explained, very clearly, how it operates.

Once, under carrier, it displays 'Apple Depot' (or something on the lines of that), it means all the items have been merged and scanned in. At that time, a carrier is assigned. This all happens by 5PM - i.e. close of business.

The tracking number could come online as late as 9/10PM. This is just a delay in the system updating all the new information from the day. They use three carriers in the UK - UPS, TNT or DHL.

My goods are expected into Apple today, and in theory, should be here tomorrow. BUT...if they are not scanned today, I do not have a chance.

Very annoying because I have come home just to pick up my laptop - based on what I was told on the phone initially.

Hope this helps you guys!

Very helpful! Thanks. So all fingers, toes and hair crossed for getting it merged before 5! I still can't believe how bad their delivery is - 7 days to ship, fair enough as they have to build it but a week to get it here?! Useless w***ers!

Sorry. Had to vent.:D

5PM NL local?

So when it gets to 5pm and nothing's changed, we'll be told to wait till 9-10 then when when nothing's happened by that time we'll have to wait until tomorrow for any progress. By the time that happens we're looking at a Monday delivery at the earliest.

The glass is half empty.

No. It reads - if it changes to Apple Depot, then give it until 9/10PM for the tracking number to come up. If no change, well then don't expect it tomorrow.

thanks ps65 - that is what I ordered and when I ordered it plus a few bits of software. Looks like we are in the same boat

Feel good! Mine would be Tuesday or Wednesday! When did you order? I have a feeling that mine will take even longer as i shipped on the 28th!

Mixed orders that dispatched on the 22nd have arrived today. If ours arrive on Monday that will mean the timescale from shipping to final delivery is 6 working days, so you would be looking at Wednesday.

From looking at the history of my mate's which was delivered today the next stage sees the status switch to "Delivery scehduled by final courier, see estimated delivery date.

The assigned courier is then UK DISTRIBUTION CENTRE.

So I guess this is what we need to see by 5pm?

Yep. But time is running out and still no movement!

I'm 99% sure we won't get this till Monday now. I'd love to be wrong but there's not going to be some miracle leap from no info to it being on the way to my house.

Now if only I can get myself to stop checking here and on the order status page.

I ordered on the 14th at 02:50 pm PDT which was 10:50pm British Summer Time. My estimated delivery date is: 31 Oct, 2008 - 03 Nov, 2008.

ok, we are in the same boat then. I ordered almost at the same time as you did but my estimated delivery only says 31st. I called Apple and they said if I don't get it tomorrow I must call them.

I really hope they don't use DHL. DHL have some bizarre policy that states that my nice quiet area that's basically a dormitory of Canary Wharf is far too dangerous for drivers to deliver to. Never mind the fact that I saw a DHL van driving through just a few days ago.

I'm pretty sure they'll use TNT for local delivery though. DHL for international deliveries and TNT for point to point in the UK. That's what I'm hoping for at least.

Mind you, if they do use DHL then at least I'd know about it in advance and could go pick it up from the depot unlike last time with DHL where I got a letter two days after I expected my parcel saying they wouldn't deliver it and that I'd have to go pick it up.

Ok, well I called Apple and the American lady I spoke to says my order, which shipped on the 24th, is still in Luxembourg and will be with me by the 5th November.

I'm not happy.
