Yep, Westbury-on-trym.

Are you MBP freezing (as in, really cold) as well? Must of been in a cold truck!

Yup, mine was icy cold. Looks to be ok so far, the battery cover looks ok, the keys don't seem wonky. I had a panic when I thought I saw a scratch on the cover so before taking the plastic off, I whipped out my SLR and took photos for evidence in case Apple didn't believe me. Took the cover off and gave the mark a rub and it came off. Phew!!
I've got as far as starting it up, watched the Leopard intro video and have now shut down again - time to install my 320gb 7200rpm drive!

BTW was your fan audible when you first turned it on? I'm in a pretty quiet room so it may just be that.

My MBP + printer was sent on the 27th and my status is still 'In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule'. Estimated delivery is Monday and the 'tracking' hasn't updated for days.

Quite envious of those who are now receiving theirs. :p
My MBP + nano was sent on the 25th and my status is still 'In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule'. Estimated delivery is Thursday and the 'tracking' hasn't updated for a couple of days.

I rang Apple to try and get saturday delivery and asked for it to go with TNT as they are up the road from me and UPS are nearly an hour way!

The lady said that she will see what she can do and call me back before 5 with an update!

Haven't booted up yet, waiting for the MagSafe to go green, but will let you know. I think mine is okay. I thought I seen a finger print on the inside of the screen, but it just wiped away. Only little concern, the padding on the slot drive isnt completely flush - a little bit sticks in. I am hoping this will become flush as soon as I load a CD. Nothing really to worry about!

Wow and I thought mine was bad! What did you order that is taking that long?

Nope nothing... You?

Nope, apart from that Apple Care e-mail last night that I need to complain about... Finding it extra hard now as I'm meant to be moving down to London on Sunday

Can't see it being here until Mon or Tues now mate. Looks like we should know today by 5pm if we'll get it Monday. Next time I order an apple product I'll be staying well clear of this place. It isn't good for you health.

Rang up again to request Saturday delivery... apparently my order HAS been merged and is at Hinckley (contrary to what I was told this morning, that my Macbook was somewhere 'between Shanghai and Hinckley'). I was also told that Saturday delivery was not possible. I guess I'll phone TNT when I get a tracking number (fingers crossed tomorrow morning at the earliest) and ask for it to be delivered. AAAAAH.

Hello everyone. First post on this forum - this is a busy thread, and I wish I had time to read through the whole thing to get my answer. Unfortunately, I don't so I emplore you friendly people to consider my dilema.

I ordered a Macbook Pro through PCWB in order to get my discount. However, I ordered it towards the end of September, meaning I ordered the old MBP. Luckily, I ordered a custom model, 2.53ghz with 200gb 7200rpm drive and 4gb of ram. However, the order took a long time to come.

After the new MBP came out, I found out why! PCWB had submitted the custom order for the old model MBP and Apple had stopped making them because the new one was coming out. So, my order of the old design was cancelled and it's been confirmed I'm getting one of the brand new unibody designs!!! YAY!!

I know the order for the unibody was placed on 17th October at about 2pm. PCWB are matching the order to meet what I ordered last time, ie, upgraded hard drive because I ordered an upgraded version of the previous one. By this, I reckon I'll be getting the 350gb 7200rpm hard disk and the 2.53ghz chipset.

Because I ordered through PCWB, I have very little info - I can't track as well as you guys who ordered directly. Presumably PCWB are making the same sorts of phone calls (thought not in the same volume) as all you guys have been but they can't tell me a great deal, probably because they're not being told a great deal from Apple judging by posts on this forum.

So, short question - is there anyone out there who has ordered a similar spec macbook and on a similar day? I'm trying to get a guestimate as to when it will be delivered to PCWB and subsequently, when it will make it's way to me!

I live in the UK btw.

Exactly the same as me - we appear to be the only people in this thread who had stuff shipped on the 27th. Let me know how yours goes - it's looking increasingly unlikely that we'll actually get our laptops on Monday... it seems as though that estimated delivery date is merely the date the laptop arrives at the distribution centre!

Regarding Apple Care I was told to contact them directly (0870 876 0753) once I get the laptop and they'll change the expiry date for me. I was told I could ring them now but it would be pointless as we still don't know when I'll get the laptop.

The (American) guy I spoke to just now said that the courier (TNT/UPS/DHL) would get the laptop either Sunday or Monday! I said that this contradicts what I was told last night, he then said there's a chance they might pick it up today but their tracking won't update til later on. (typical!)

Forgot to complain about how those of us who've ordered more products have to wait longer... will do that if I need to ring again.

On a more positive note once they've assigned the carrier they will be able to change my shipping address so I can move on Sunday! (hopefully it won't add more than a day to my wait)

Next time I order an apple product I'll be staying well clear of this place. It isn't good for you health.

LOL! Sometimes it's helped and sometimes it's made things worse but I think overall it's been good to be able to vent here with people who understand and get more info on what's going on.
Also, this thread alone has taken my status from macrumors newbie to member!

Jeez that really crosses the line from 'poor' to 'totally useless' service. With any luck the estimated delivery is off and it'll turn up sooner but I am beginning to get the impression that optimism isn't particularly worthwhile when it comes to Apple deliveries.

I'm resisting phoning unless it doesn't turn up on Monday, but if I were in your shoes I'd be ringing them now.

Don't say that - I'm having a hard enough time coping with the idea of waiting 'til Monday. :p I suppose since I have a meeting on Tues it'll probably turn up when I'm out...

Ordered on the 15th and shipped on the 24th - status is now that it is "in transit to customer - shipment on schedule" still not assigned carrier. Looks like it will be Monday that I get it which is when they said all along so can't complain to much.:)

Just now changed to "Preparing handover to final carrier" so one would think I´ll be getting it monday...

I've been following this thread since the beginning but haven't posted yet.

I ordered an MBP and a Nano from the education store on the 14th at around 9PM or 10PM. It shipped on the 24th, and has an estimated delivery date of today (the 31st).

I don't have a tracking number still, but yesterday it's status was "Preparing for Handover to Final Carrier", and this morning it is now "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule".

I guess I'm in the same boat as Macgrl. What do you think the chances of me receiving it today are?

Hi there, I live about an hour away from the depot in Hinckley. It won't be coming via UPS to me today as the van has already been to a house next door to make a delivery ( i nearly ran outside when I saw it pull up....ok I did run outside like a dog after that postie lol) and I would have thought that if it was coming via ups that it would have been on it. It may come by TNT but I would have thought if it was coming today that it would have a tracking number. Would love to be wrong but I don't think it will be here today. What it the estimate day that it should arrive with you? - edited to say that I have now read the end of your post!! lol

UPDATE: Mine now says In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule - does this mean today or monday? I'm both confused and excited! lol!

On the order info page it's always said 3rd-4th November, and the shipment status has always said 31st. I wish Apple would sort out their tracking systems so that it didn't give us 2 different dates.

Just had an update. Still an estimated delivery date of today and Current Delivery Status has changed to "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" You get this too?

When I spoke to Apple yesterday I was told that the date on the Shipment Status page was for when they would get it not when we would get them. However, mine has now changed (see above post) so I'm not sure what it means any more!

Anticon I think we posted at the same time... yes mine has changed... time to start trying all those numbers with the couriers!

My status gives 2 dates - 3/4th and 1st November. The first is a Saturday so it wouldn't get to me until the Monday 3rd anyway!!!

Didn't see your message.. Going by the status page this means its on schedule to deliver today. Well you would think it does anyway.. Can't see it myself.
