HOW are you people checking exactly where your macbooks are?? ha seriously all I get when I go onto order status is a load of numbers and 'Shipping on schedule' should I be doing something with all those random tracking numbers?

Would appreciate it if someone could tell this newb what to do! Thanks

Basically a lot of us have been on here from page 1 so we can understand what's going on based on what happened with those before us.

To summarise, if you have ordered anything extra (like iPod) then you get 0 tracking details, if not then you get detailed tracking (and it takes about a day less to get to you).

From what I understand all the updates on Shipment Status relate to the order getting to Apple themselves not the actual customer (us) until it says out for delivery.

I really dont think so :( i rang TNT cause they picked my MBP today but because of the weekend they are keeping it in London over the weekend then bringing it down to Plymouth on Monday :(:(

That's very odd, why wouldn't they move it to a closer location tonight? They still drive on Fri don't they? Would it not make more sense to drive it to the local depot/distribution centre tonight and then send it out for del on Monday (or are they going to do that on Sunday?)

I placed my order yesterday ( 30/10/08 ), with Telesales, today I recieved an email telling me that it has beins shipped, and that it would be delivered on or before 11/11/08, previouslt it had stated 12/11/08.

Seems pretty fast, to say I only placed the order yesterday at around 4pm...I just hope it does'nt have to be returned

ah ok thanks for the help. Thats pretty wierd, i guess its just a waiting game

Mine has finally changed to Prepared for Shipment. Woo Hoo!!!

Odds are we are on the same shipment (either that, or you will have just missed the boat). Ordered my CTO 2.8GHz 320GB 7200RPM + Nano + HE AppleCare midafternoon 21st, went to Prepared to Ship sometime between 2am and 7am 31st (I really need to start sleeping longer hours... and check my Delivery Status widget less often), and shipped ~20:30 on the 31st.

Overall a good day, I woke up, saw that my MBP was Prepared to ship, went into town, was made into a Zombie, helped break the world record for the number of Zombies in one place, went to a Jonathan Coulton concert, thoroughly enjoyed myself, and finished off by returning home to find that the MBP had shipped.

Now for a week or so of impatience... I guess I'll just wait around here then.

err.. look at the carrier in lower left of your order. most likely UPS, then go to UPS.com & key in your tracking code..

or am i stating the obvious?

tracking via the apple is 24-48 hrs behind UPSs site updates

Yea thats what i thought! The lady said that it would stay there untill sunday night then be driven down :( for some messed up reason!

Mine just got into the London City depot in the morning. I called the depot up personally and asked if they did Saturday deliveries at all, the guy I was talking to was a great help, walked over, found the package, and put it on a truck for me, all while on the phone! Its out for delivery now at no extra charge. Loving this company!

Wish this happened to me :( lucky u live in london because they must all go there for dispatch :( very jealous :( monday is the earliest for me :(

Woah, that is excellent! well dont, was that TNT? Mine still hasn't changed, it has been the same for days and days and days. I would love to know that it is at least in teh UK but I can't justify calling them when the estimated delivery date is still next week. I wish there was an Apple insider on here who could track for us!

Just checked TNTs website and days my package in is Exeter (an hour a way from me)!!!! got really excited and ran up to see if i could get it from them. Rang TNT Exeter and they said its only my iPod...:mad::mad::mad: wont get the MBP till monday morning!!! WTF?? why isnt it al moving at once if it left the Distribution centre together???

It was TNT. Just follow the estimated delivery date on the Shipment Status page. That is the date you should get a tracking number (And when it will be in the UK), not the day it should reach you. I know its irritating, but thats just the way Apple seems to work in the UK with merged orders.

It wasn't the wait that got to me personally, but the lack of information as to what was going on with the package, so I feel you with the anxiety. If you are so inclined, you can write to Apples complaint department over the weekend about that, I'm going to do so myself. But don't bother calling customer support, they will be generally unhelpful and will give you less information then that which is accumulated in the last 30+ pages on this topic :p

Yah I'm sorry to hear that. You can always use it as an excuse to take a trip down to the city, or catch up on some reading in the train ;) I almost went to Northampton this morning to pick mine up until the info updated to say it was in London already.

Yea i would catch a flight to China next time and pick it up myself!

TNT have my iPod in Exeter but my MBP and Printer are in Northampton. Dont no why it doesnt all move together?

Got to wait until Sunday night until exeter have it all then it will leave there Monday morning to get to me around 12!

Hope you get yours soon though :)

Have you had tracking details then?

I've not had anything so far, I've tried that 80 number on all 3 courier sites and nothing.

The tracking number for TNT starts in 747 for me. I got this on the 31st at about 4 o clock!

Sorry to re-hash as I know it has been mentioned, but this is part of the fun right? Mine should be delivered Tuesday, currently I am still

Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule

When will it change to something else? will it goto "in transit to final" soon? I know tracking wont happen until Monday. Do status changed ever occur at the weekend?

The 80 number should only work when your Shipping Status page says its been handed over to the carrier, and your carrier is listed as something like UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER. Once you have that, go to the international TNT tracking page (the number won't work on any other part of TNTs tracking service), and put it in as a Reference number.

If TNT has the package and is tracking it, once you have it in as the reference number it should show you a tracking page with a Consignment number. Save that number and use it from then on to follow your package, as thats the official number TNT uses. Remember to always quote that it is an International package.

Ah ok I get it now (finally). Was hoping that TNT or whoever is delivering it already picked it up as we know Apple's tracking page is slow to update.

If only Apple would let me pick it up from Hinckley today... I can't take much more waiting.

So lucky. When I called all the drivers were out for delivery :(. The depot is like 7 miles from me, and there's no way I'm making the journey with that much stuff on the way back :p

Yeah mine changed over to "Preparing handover to final carrier". Must have been last night at some stage. No update on the carrier yet. You think TNT will pick up Sunday evening for delivery Monday or would it be pickup on Monday for delivery Tuesday?

It seems as though TNT or whoever, will pick up on Sunday for delivery on Monday.
