According to Phil...it's for "experience."
The "experience"..... without the lube.

I question your credibility. Not only because I have not come across these issues, but also because multiple hits for keyboards show they cost from $99-120... Something you claimed would cost $150... So either you're intentionally trying to mislead, or you don't know what you're talking about... Neither are good traits so I think i'll stick with my own experiences. Again, I appreciate your concern, but it isn't needed.
Wouldn't it have been better received if they just added $19 USD to the sale price of the MBP and had them ship with the extensions in the box?
Is Tim getting increasingly desperate for profits? Apple has definitely changed from those 'friendly' underdog days.
I feel you all, but what the hell are you all gonna buy and work on instead? Dell XPS? Microsoft Surface Book? I was really schocked by the price and gimmicky touch bar, but i still don't see any other product equal in quality and service as what you get with the MBP.
It was deemed "intrusive"the startup chime. that is gone too.
I can only hope that Apple has people on these forums reading these comments and are realizing they pushed it too far.
Another member on here hit the nail on the head in pointing out the sheer difference in response between Apple and Microsoft's event.
Some seriously messed up times this community is in.
Indeed. The biggest obstacle in progress are BELIEVES of the mind... evolutionary resistance agains NEW.
All you cry babies will eventually get the 2016 model or newer when your old tech starts to crumble into oblivion.
Due to much improved upon cass latency on DDR3 Ram DDR4 offers little performance improvement whatsoever. Not a big issue actual at all.
Instead of immediately jumping on the 'greed' train, I will throw out a couple other potential reasons.
My guess is the lack of extension cord has more to do with 'going green'. Most people can get by without it, so including it in the box is wasteful in Apple's eyes. Not saying it is right, but I think that might be the reasoning. Or maybe they are using the 'Nintendo reasoning', where they are expecting most sales to be replacing old systems. So those people can take the extension cord from their old system to use with their new system.
The lack of glowing Apple logo? The only thing I can think of (other than simply reducing manufacturing/parts cost) is to allow the screen to be thinner. Not sure it was worth it to remove something so iconic though.
I rarely see those extension cords used, especially now that all-day battery life is pretty much expected.
Could it be that Apple is trying to be green here? Less plastic and metal for the landfills? Maybe?
Am I the only person who still has my MBA extension cord still lying in the original packaging untouched?
heh, i'm starting to feel embarrassed for myself just because i'm reading these threads.
gotta take a break from this place.
animals = nature
+they're already dead. they don't need their skin - hello!!
Something tells me you will be sorely disappointed.just wait it out, the price will drop with falling sales
As I sit here with a mid-2014 MBP 15" Retina that couldn't run Safari on YouTube pages due to the big GUI crash issue that would lock up the machine when closing tabs or windows (until a couple of months ago when it was finally fixed) and is NOW is suffering from the well-documented issue where the touchpad won't depress due to the 2 year old battery bloating and pushing up from underneath, I find it hard to justify the old cost, let alone the new one.just wait it out, the price will drop with falling sales

most people probably don't use it - simple.
