New MacBookPro Tomorrow ?

Supported by the likes of 'iMacmatician' they believe the stacking of rumours throughout the year all point to a case design release sometime soon (August / Sept) with the Centrino2 (Montevina chipset) refinement. I confess to being the impatient type and finding myself wishing in this camp also. I don't believe Apple will do a big-bang, but that's just my opinion.

Pick a camp. Bet on black. Bet on red. It's all a collection of hope and opinion and all we can go is wait until the Apple gods reveal.

I'm definitely in camp 2.

I have been waiting on a redesign for a long time now and I can't wait until 2009. I really hope we see something in August with an upgraded GPU (preferably a GeForce 8800M). Also it would be great if they made a cooler running system that is more efficient.

I was actually holding out for the new revision before I made my new MBP purchase...however, something occurred to me; if they do a major overhaul do I really want the 1st edition?!?

Consider the first iPhone & where it is today w/ 3G. The big one was I remember the first titanium MacBook & how it would twist & bend...reports of batteries bursting in flames. I know some of the best desktops were the final editions before an overhaul....thinking of the 9600/300 and also the G5 tower. Great machines and their predecessors? ...not so much. It took sometimes a couple of revisions to get it right & work out the kinks.

I'm thinking this latest wave of MBPs are fairly skookum units & will probably make a purchase in the coming week or so. Now if they don't overhaul it but just bump up the speed & components I'll be really choked!

I paid close attention to the MBP release the past couple of years and it always seemed to come *after* the student rebate ended...ie getting rid of the old stock. My bet is the release will be mid to late Sept.

Get a C2D. 2.16/2.33 has an older card, cheaper but the classic design. I like it myself.

I guess right off the bat, you're just plain wrong.. they're not going to make them any thinner (they were 1.1" in 2000, and dropped 0.1" three years ago... it's only because you're a cynical git that you're saying they're going to thin them again).... and secondly, what you just said, technically does not parse out into a grammatically meaningful sentence.

So yes, it's painful to read what you write.

And no I don't actually think they're going to make it thinner, chances are they won't, but I like to take the piss out of Apple's design philosophy with the MBP as much as possible.

Pure assumption BUT if they release the macbook in september it's more likely that they will release the MBP at a different time. So I'll say tomorrow or the 5th of August.

i still have my money on tomarrow, but i think it will definitely be out by the 5th... hopefully haha

Hmm.. considering the whole 8600M GT affair, I'd be pretty surprised if we didn't get it next week, or at least an announcement for an event.
