New MacBookPro Tomorrow ?

Nice to see a month later, we're still wrong. It'll come in mid-September at the earliest.
 
Man, only 4 weeks until I start uni now, and my term is one of last around to start, Apple are really pushing it for students...

So, chances for tomorrow? An announce at least?

I'd say... oooh... 15%.

I say September 30. It doesn't look like they are coming at the iPod event (September 9), otherwise, Kevin Rose or some other source would have had more details of it. September 2 may be too close to the iPod event for redesigns to take place.

It would also make sense that manufacturing of the iPods and MacBooks were ramped down at the same time because iPods sell more than Macs and so would be more constrained at the same point in time in September. So it would make sense that the iPods are to be updated earlier.

What do you mean they are pushing it? They care about market share, but not about the greed of students who want the latest models and the same promotion.
 
It is funny how many of these threads there are and yet people keep discussing the same things :eek:

Greed? o_O Most people in the market for MBPs are in the know about release cycles and so are basing their purchase around sensible estimates as to when Apple should release the next models in order to save themselves money. If they buy now and a new one is released in a week they lose £100s through the resale value of their computer for no reason.

That's not greed that's just common sense.

I'm sorry I used the wrong word, but nonetheless, I feel this is Apple clearing old stock--they will probably release the computers, 1 week after the last day of the promo to deter people from asking from an exchange.

I know what you mean - Long story short, Apple are trying to solve Apple's sales figure "problem", not our bargain hunting "problem".
 
NOT going to happen, I know someone who works at the apple shop and they have nothing prepared nor have they been told about an inpending update!! All they know is there own speculation.

Ah yes....it's Monday.

I don't have much hope for tomorrow. The 9th or 16th seems more likely....I hope......I really would rather not have decide between getting the old one and starting school without my own computer......

Lol im pretty desperate too you know!! My first mac, although I love the current design and would be happy with it! I have to buy this Monday or Tuesday though, but I wont complain, will still be a sexy laptop!

But its a no go folks
