The wait is so frustrating
Just noticed under my name I joined April, been waiting since then My Acer has to hold it out a bit longer, 20% of the screen is coming off.Well, I'm not sure it will take that long for new macbook pros to come out. All major retailers here in Portugal have absolutely no stock (Fnac (only a few in the stores, none available online), vobis (only 2 available), mbit (none), Radio Popular (none), Staples (none)). Only the portuguese apple online store has them all. I don't think these major retailers would be simply out for no reason with a full month to go in September when the notebook sales are at their peak.
Hmmm...you make a good point. Apple would not want to have retailers sold out for an entire month, now would they? I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Most probably I'm just too tired, but help me please: I don't see any word on 0% finance in the given link and I also test-ordered a MacBook Pro in the UK store - there was no hint ...

I'm not saying the new mbp will be coming tomorrow, I'm saying they will come soon, one of the retailers told me to hold of until the 16th but they didn't know for sure either.
Oh well ...

This has been a fun thread and I have been waiting for an aluminum MB for about 6 months. On another note, for the critics in this thread; I use my mac for ilife; internet, music, movies, etc. I am thinking about setting up my Mini as a theater, replacing the desktop Mini with a 17" MBP and getting a new MB to travel with. Oh, and maxing all the ram, so? I saw a guy with a car the other day, he probably didn't even need it...

Alright, I guess it's time to sound off. This is really an expression of frustration more than anything, so if you don't like reading posts that don't advance the topic at all, please skip this one!
I've been waiting for a new MacBook Pro since last June. It's been over a year. When I write "new," I mean "redesigned". The only reason I haven't bought the current Pro is that I just don't feel comfortable walking around with a design that's getting to be 5 or more years old. I'm sort of one of those "latest and greatest" people, so it was against my sensibilities to get one; I knew it'd have to be updated soon.
So yeah, it's been a long year of hopes up, hopes down. Back then, you all may recall, the Pros were about to be redesigned, too. I mean, I'm not doubting it now - that would be pretty illogical, as each passing day should be bringing us closer to a redesign - but I'm just saying, please. Please, Apple. I can't hold out too much longer. That, and it's just getting pretty ridiculous. At least announce it and don't ship for another month or something.
The past-and-current Pro looks like a big heavy tank, especially next to what the Air has shown me they're capable of designing. It's a legacy design with so many elements absent from other Macs - the old keyboard, the screws, the tiny little trackpad, and especially the lid latch.
Christ, I hope we see something sexy and new tomorrow. And preferably with Blu-ray.

WOW. sick find man. ive been looking for something to just even "hint" new macbooks for tommorow. this find is the little light! cause everyone else is saying it wont be released tommrow, but sometime in october/november. some are even saying they will be released in macworld 2009!! too friggen long for me.

no new macs coming out tomorrow. they will be here at the end of september. i guarantee you...

Just get it now. If it doesn't come out in October, it will be November. If it doesn't come out then, it will be December. If not then, MacWorld 09. If they put the mini or pro before it, expect it to be backed up until next year.
I just got my MacBook a couple days ago and I couldn't be happier with it. I can confidently say it is the nicest and fastest computer I've ever owned. I considered waiting, just like about everyone that visits this site does, but figured it could just go on forever and the free iPod and printer were a complete steal.
I don't doubt you.. I'm all for MacBooks at the end of September. More SteveNotes!

you know, im really glad i dont have the money to buy a new macbook, otherwise the wait for a revision would have shirly killed me by now.

I am hoping arn is wrong about this one!!!i dont simply want them to..i KNOW for a fact. i know youll doubt this too, but i have a friend (and an honest and trustworthy one for that) that works for apple. not at an apple store, but in the real developing department. she works for memory/ram stuff.

Well, Arn doesnt seem too sure about it in that post. And, as we all know, Apple has a way of surprising us. We will not know anything until tomorrow after Steve leaves that stage...if even at that point. For all we know, tomorrow Steve could announce the iToaster. Just because someone hasn't predicted it doesn't mean it won't happen.
Stores across the globe are running low on stock of MacBook Pro's. We have seen leaked pictures of "Mac's". On the other hand, people like joshi3joshi are saying that we will not see new notebooks tomorrow, but instead we will see them at the end of this month. Who is right? There are signs pointing both ways...but we will not REALLY know anything until tomorrow after the keynote.
Here's hoping for the best...and bracing for the worst.
