Looks like we're nearing stage 4 of the grief scale: Depression. Sit tight, soon we'll all be at stage 5, the Acceptance. That they've shipped, not that they've, you know, died.

Point is, relax! Take a breath.

…

Godammit when are these little bastards shipping? What the hell they're never gonna ship come on…

I've called my therapist; I think they have started a graduate studies program at Havard specializing in this neurosis. Perhaps I can get a fresh counselor to address my concerns.

I was doing fine, it's been three weeks and I had almost forgot about my order(on purpose) until I started reading this thread. Now I check this thread every hour to see if there are any updates. :(

UK store has been changed to 3-4 weeks on default machine. I guess they can't either keep up with the demand or there was a glitch or something. Well, I was going to buy in march so lets hope they will have it to 3-5 days by then :)))

Just called Apple UK regent street and was told that they should have them on display in 2 weeks time. Well, something is definately going on. :(

Aw beans

I just sold my 15" *today*, thinking my 17" (Scheduled to ship by 16th Feb) would be here in two weeks... by the sounds of it Apple are having problems manufacturing this machine rather than supply not meeting demand because they're yet to ship a single machine. If it was simply high demand we would have likely seen them shipping by now.

Frankly, I would rather them take an extra month on quality control vs shipping machines you have problems with the first month, send it back, get it, send it back, get it, send it back, get it, send it back......

Ok yeah, their shipping dates may be delayed, but when dealing with newly manufactured machines, the shipping dates are always estimates and they try to provide worst case.

Which would you rather have?

Additionally, some machines have been shipped.

Do you have any evidence of machines being shipped?

as far as my knowledge goes I don't think a single MBP uni 17" has been shipped. Can anyone confirm that?

man what is going on !!!

The Swedish store have now changed from 7-10 biz days to 3-4 weeks again

the US store stills shows 7-10 ... ? do I hae to w8 3-weeks longer just because I´ve ordered a swedish keybord ? ... man....

My order status has just changed. Intead of Shipping by 16th Feb, Delivery by 18th Feb, it now says 'Estimated Shipping: 19th Feb'.

I'm kinda bummed that it's been put back, but at least only by a couple of days

I think it's maybe because my order date is quite a bit later than yours (Jan 26th)... maybe they have had problems with manufacturing and are only getting it ramped up now?

Just checked mine & it's now changed from shipped 10th, delivered on or before 19th, to estimated shipping on 19th (in UK) with no delivery estimate. I guess I can now forget about it & get on with academic stuff that I was hoping to complete by mid-month on my new Mac.
Certainly sounds like Apple are having problems in China & be good to know what's happening & it worries me a bit that there's no explanation from them?

I just got off the phone with the folks at Apple. I talked to a very nice lady named Jackie. She said my order was in process and would ship on the 6th and be delivered by the 13th. I asked her if there were any production delays, as I'd heard there were - she put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back and said, "no, everything is fine, there are no delays at this time."

Further, she said on Friday afternoon/evening, I should have tracking info... guess we'll find out if she's right or not in a couple of days...

My dates are holding firm although the thought of an on time delivery is laughable at this point. My card hasn't even been charged. I actually sold my Macbook Pro on E-bay last night and need to get it shipped out this week. It's not that big of a deal, but I was really looking forward to installing the new 500GB 7200.4 hard drive I ordered and putting the new MBP on the track!

I'm in exactly the same boat, they just did that to me, it used to be Shipping 16th and now its gone to the 18th. Omg this is so annoying Apple, Steve leaves for 5 mins and look what happens.

I should also point out this isnt the first time Apple have done this, they should have learnt their lesson from the last 17"MBP's which were promised in Jan and didn't arrive until late March:

Well, as some have indicated, credit cards for some are being charged, therefore, the machines are on the brink of hitting the FEDEX trucks. Yeah, some countries may be delayed, but that may be more of logistics, than manufacturing delays.

Best to work on facts, not fiction.

To my comment about some shipping...to me they are shipping when the credit card hits. That is the way retailers recognize revenue vs. increasing their unearned revenue liabilities if they cross over a period end reporting financials and their working capital calculations suffer. Some companies, due to debt reasons, have to really watch the level of their liabilities and unearned revenue is a liability.

Therefore, when they are charging the credit cards, they are shipping IMO.

Everyone please check your shipping/delivery date!!!

It seems like everything has been pushed back!!!

My original shipping date was Feb 10, delivers Feb 17
Now, it ships Feb 19!!!

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

This is only occuring for nonUS orders.

When you say everyone, you mean those foreign to the US.

I am in the good ole USA and nothing has changed on my shipping date since I ordered back in January. I have called a couple times to get an update on whether shipping would be sooner, but the Apple lady stated that there is a good chance they will ship sooner than my ship date as posted, but they won't update the date on the website for any earlier ship date. Additionally she stated those dates are worst case.

However, I do hope all those in other countries get theirs soon. Could be a logistics glitch in the website and the dates really haven't changed in reality. We have all heard of websites posting wrong info that didn't reflect reallity.
