Well... My card was just charged, so I HOPE it's shipping in the next day.

I'm in the US, shipping date is holding at feb 4th. I never had a delivery date (and anyway it's shipping to the apple store before it ships to me, as they're doing a data transfer for me).

It had better ship today. Delays are not cool.
 
my order date has not changed (live in us/atlanta). albiet still a ways off as i ordered the matte screen. fingers crossed it ships early. i ordered on jan 6th at 4:08pm. i paid for expedited shipping but think i might call and ask for a refund on that. 4 days to deliver seems excessive.

I got the bump too. Originally due to ship on 3rd Feb and arrive on 18th Feb. Now showing as shipping on 19th Feb with no delivery date. Quite irked as I placed the order on 6th Jan to replace my 20" iMac workhorse that's dying.

Certainly sounds like Apple are having problems in China & be good to know what's happening & it worries me a bit that there's no explanation from them?

This sucks, is it just us in the UK that get it later? I was just getting over it shipping on 9th, now it's 10 more days to wait :(
I bet it'll be in stores before we get it.

Completing the new 17 -inch MacBook Pro is taking a little longer than we projected, and we now expect to begin shipping on 19th February 2009.

A shipment notification, with tracking information, will be emailed to you as soon as your order is shipped. :mad:

That's not good. No offence, but I hope it's the non-US keyboards that are taking a while.

It's weird... I called Apple and they said its not ready yet, then I said lots of people in the US have still got their original shipment dates... she said you can't compare the UK and US because they ship from different warehouses! ugh. it's so frustrating... WHYYYYYYYYYY APPLE WHYYYYYY? :mad:

Well, it makes sense for customs reasons that Apple would use different warehouses. I know that my MBP will come to me from Ontario, even though some distribution points in the USA are closer to me.
 
Ship Date

I just checked mine again and the ship date is still Feb 10th but the delivery date was moved up to next day. Thats nice to see, that now lets hope its here on the 11th. :)

I'm in London too. I ordered on the 7th of January and my shipping date was 4th of February. I just checked now and it's unfortunately changed to the 19th... I can't believe it, all this waiting and now more waiting...What can I say...Let's hope they don't push the dates any further...

I was just looking over my order, again... and I noticed that my shipping has been changed from "Standard" to "2-3 Day" since I called them this morning. Sweet.
 
Benchmark testing the UNI 17"

I plan to run benchmark testing on my MacBook Pro--first thing.

I have used XBench in the past. Can anyone recommend any other benchmark tests? I am particularly interested to see the benefit of the SSD drive.

Perhaps we could all run XBench three times on our new machines and post the results of all three tests. I've seen some variation on the random read results-- hence the justification for running the tests three times. Please post the OS version--it will give us something to compare to when Snow Leopard is released.

We can do the same with amotherbenchmark program if we can all agree to try it.

This is the sort of information that will help future purchasers decide which options make the most sense froma cost perspective.
 
Big time ****ing ball drop by apple here. Don't say that they will ship at the end of January in the keynote, then push it back to feb online, then push it back AGAIN. Lame.

Okay, so far it looks like all the ones that have been pushed back use non-US keyboards. Glad I didn't order the Canadian keyboard option :) I don't have to type French all that often, and I when I do I can change it in software and be happy.
 
Guess it's close..

As with other posters .. today I checked my credit card online and it shows the full amount of my order has been pre-authorized. Apple does this just before shipping. My ship date on my order was for Feb 9 with delivery Feb 12. Looks like it's gonna ship a little early at this rate. Might see it this week as I ordered 2-day shipping.

Order is for 2.9 processor, 8GB RAM, 320 7200RPM drive, Glossy screen. My last two MBP orders all arrived on or before the day listed as shipping.. looks like I may be lucky enough for it to happen again.

Apple site says "not yet shipped" and no email confirmation yet, but in the past I have received the shipping email on the day it arrived twice in a row. So not counting on that to tell me when.

Perhaps. Just because we have confirmed delays overseas does not mean we have no delays here. It just means that, for whatever reason, our shipping dates haven't changed. It's entirely possible that our shipments are also delayed, but the online info hasn't been updated to reflect it yet.

Of course I hope this isn't the case. However my order is supposed to ship today, and it's fast approaching noon here on the west coast -still no change to my order page. I'm tempted to call it right now and say that orders set to ship today and tomorrow won't ship until next week, but I geuss we'll just have to wait and see.
 
I ordered on Jan 10 and called last week to change my order to include the 256 SSD drive. Ever since, my order has not shown a ship date. I just called Apple and they said that my order is showing no ship date but a delivery date of Feb. 14. When I changed my order, the rep gave me the expedited shipping for free. He said he would expect it to go out Fri. or Monday.

I am located in Florida.
