New MBP 17" delivery dates!

10 day shipping delay - Netherlands

I just received notice that my shipping date has been delayed by 10 days:
  • Pre-order date: 8 Jan
  • Original ship date: 9 Feb
  • Original delivery date: 13 Feb

  • New (delayed) ship date: 19 Feb
  • *no* delivery date mentioned
The core of the abbreviated, (translated) apology reads:
The production of the new 17" MBP is taking longer than planned. Shipping is now expected on or later than 19 feb...

My ordered configuration is:
  • 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM 2X2GB
  • 320GB Serial ATA @ 7200 rpm
  • SuperDrive 8X
  • DISPLAY-HI RES, GL,Widescreen
  • No DVI Adapter
  • N0 VGA Adapter
  • No Remote
  • IWORK '09 FAMILY PACK-NLD

I've lost hope. I'm in US and my date has been changed by almost two weeks. :(

I don't see how they can do this, if they didn't give a ship/receive date then sure they can change it but when they say I should have it at this date I make plans around that date. Now they don't know, why the hell would they say that unless they're sure. I'm pissed now.
 
Ha, looks like US people are getting the delays now too. I hope its because Steve is personally blessing each one of these things or something.
 
mine is still showing feb 12 deliv date. I did however order with the ADC Discount. hopefully this helps me :)
 
Well, my ship date is the 12th and has been ever since. Therefore, I don't have anything to be disappointed about until the 12th comes and goes without shipping, regardless of any change.

Oh yeah, speaking of discounts, I ordered with a discount as well, so perhaps they are in front? Seems counter intuitive unless they see all their discounted customers as priority customers.

You never know.

So for those indicating their credit cards were pre-charged, has anybody actually been charged yet?
 
Can't you just picture Steve Jobs in his office going over these forums and in his best Darth Vader impression saying:

Pretty funny if you think about it.
 
Strange that everything was fine this morning when I called them up... lady said it would ship on Feb 6th, no problems...

now I check my order:

Shipping Date Changed to Feb 19th

My shipping date just changed to Feb 19th. I'm located in the US--East Coast. I need to call them and drop the express shipping as I will be out of town and unable to receive it.

I called them and was unable to learn anything new. I'm going to watch and wait a few days before deciding on shipping. It burns me up that I paid extra for express shipping and it is coming in later.

 
Shipped date slipped here, too...

I ordered my 17" MacBook Pro immediately when the store came back up after their announcement and until today my order status has said: Ships Feb 4th, Delivery Feb 9th. :cool:

Unfortunately (like everyone else) a moment ago the date changed and it's now Feb 19th. :mad:

I work in the education channel at an apple campus store. Our 17" units have been scheduled for march 6th delivery at our store. It stinks that they are having problems getting these orders shipped, but they will get here soon enough. Luckily February is the short month....
 
interesting that everyone's date is the same

It seems that no matter when people ordered there MBP, the ship date is the 19th of Feb. I just changed my order yesterday to the 2.93, and my ship date changed to the 19th of Feb just like everyone else, even though they ordered earlier. I had an original order in right after WWC, and when I changed my order yesterday, the shipping date was 2 days earlier!

This seems odd to me, something seems fishy!
 
This is crazy. I ordered mine early this morning and had an Estimated delivery of the 17th, then I received my confirmation email which said an estimated delivery of the 19th to the 24th of February now they've pushed back my ship date to the 19th! - By the time I get this it will be March.. I'm really really not impressed. I waited a long time for it to be 7-10 day shipping.

What is holding it up so long? :confused:
 
All day mine has said delivers Feb 12-20th now it says ships Feb 19th. Something's definitely rotten in Denmark.
