New MBP 17" delivery dates!

Shipping imminent

Apple has just charged my credit card for the new MBP 17" 2.93Gb, 320Gb @ 7200 that I ordered on January 15th. I'm assuming this should mean that it'll be shipping any day now.🙂
Here's hoping.
 
The available balance in my day-to-day account has just been reduced by the anticipated amount, although it's not showing as a deduction yet. When taken with the info from BraveArts, it looks like there's a batch on the way to Europe real soon. 🙂

(Ordered a 2.93 with a MiniDP/VGA : 15th Jan

Estimated shipped: 12th Feb
Estimated delivered: 23rd Feb

any anti-glare orders ship yet? i ordered on 1/6 with base build w/ matte screen. no charges or any date changes, other then ships by feb 27th. i sure hope it ships next week. i'm thinking probably by next friday.

Places like Macmall and PC connection buy wholesale from apple. They order on a different level than then the single orders you place on apple website. They also consist of a fairly large portion of apple sales because there considerably cheaper.

So if your apple, yes you want to keep your customer base happy but you also want to service the resellers that buy literally hundreds and hundreds of machines at a time. Believe me, places like Macmall and PC connection placed huge orders just after the release of the 17" and no I highly doubt there not at the back of the list for shipping. Apple want to move product, there a business.

Ever since they opened their own retail stores, Apple has been notoriously disdainful of resellers.
 
Order status succession?

I just viewed my order status for the xth time today, and the words in the blue line say "Not yet shipped" with "Ships: 19 Feb" underneath.

  • Was there a status before "Not yet shipped"? It sounds crazy, but now I can't remember. Perhaps I should refresh the brain more often than the screen. 😉
  • Does anyone know the full order of these status messages? (For example: "Not yet shipped", "Prepared for shipping", "In transit", "Delivered")

1. Nope.

2. Not Yet Shipped -> Prepared -> Shipped

Nice, it looks like every day they move another day up the pre-order list so mine should ship Tuesday/Wednesday on this schedule.
 
Lets please not turn this thread into another glossy vs matte debate, keep it updated with shipping info and that's it.
