Shipped? When was your order date, when did you get prepared for shipping, and when did you finally get your email?
Ordered: January 6th, 2009
Prepared For Shipment: February 15th, 2009
Shipping Confirmation: 7:07am EST, February 16th 2009
Have the tracking number but FedEx still has no information yet. It's a non-stock model check my signature. :]
Ok so I should see a shipping notification in the next 24 hours nice, I wonder how long it will take with next business day from China
. I ordered originally with 2-3 day and apple upgraded me to next business day with the delay.
Congrats! I ordered on the 6th (immediately after the store came back up) as well with the same exact specs minus the additional 4GB Ram + plus iwork + remote. My card still hasn't been charged. Glad to see this is becoming reality though.
Mine didn't get charged either yet but I am prepared for shipping, maybe the card isn't a good indication. I would call apple to state what others are seeing and why your not shipping yet.

But the thing is originally I ordered mine on 7th Jan through the Apple Online Store Thailand but then I called Apple and changed my shipping address to an Australian one instead, so what the girl on the phone did was she placed the same order in the Australian Store online for me. So the order date then changed to 29th Jan and they said there's no way they can bump it up.
But this was my own fault though. Hope it will be shipped by 19th Feb

Yea don't mean to be upsetting but your in the line but not the complete end.. seems they are going down the list based on Order day (except for those rare people seem to have gotten skipped) so your new order date did screw you a bit

he's just upset and jealous because his didnt ship yet. once its shipped from China whatever delivery you chose its usually with you within 3 working days (mon - fri).
I just spoke with apple and they told me that the shipping dates have not been updated yet. They say there could be a update to a more "accurate" shipping date soon.
I also asked why the system was delayed and apparently, the customer service people don't have an official response for it except it "took longer then expected"

Re: Anchorage. If the machines ship from Shanghai, they make a stop in Anchorage for customs clearance into the US.
Oftentimes, what will happen is, the machines will hit Anchorage before the official clearance paperwork. The machines then sit in limbo for a bit until the paperwork arrives and the shipments are cleared.
This only needs to happen once, but the people that get stiffed with the additional delay are the people that ordered first.
Bleh.
I just called in to see the status of my laptop ordered on January 6th right after the announcement. They informed me that because I did an RMA on some headphones they sent me as an "I'm sorry" for the original delay it affected my laptop order. Basically, I received some headphones a couple of weeks ago from Apple that were DOA. They sent me a return authorization tag to send them back late last week. For whatever reasons, because they had not received the DOA headphones this was holding up my laptop being sent out. I don't know why in that I had to send the DOA headphones back before they would send the replacements which makes perfect sense. Of course I wasn't too pleased and let them hear about it. I'm very satisfied with the resolution, but can't wait to get this thing in my hands.

It does seem to be true. I think that the Feb 19th is just a placeholder for every single order prior to the announcement of the delay. That's why I am really hoping that they can meet that date (for my order) which will be very amazing if they do.
But I really think that my actual shipping date will be after Feb 19th.
As always, I called Apple today (I always call on Monday out of habit to see how the folks are doin') and they stated that the 19th is the "no later than" shipping date, therefore, if it ships sooner, than you get it sooner, but it is to ship on or before the 19th and use the shipping terms you have agree upon (ie.. 2 day or whatever).
That's it ladies and gents. Congrats to those getting theirs on the truck already. It is to be enjoyed; and many are ready to get to work I am sure as well.
I know I am looking to use it for some photo editing particularly for the glossy screen. I have used a matte screen on my iMac for a couple years and the glossy may help me do some things I want to do better. Oh, don't worry about how many photographers like matte better than glossy. I know all about the debate and since I will have access to both, I can determine for myself for my particular needs.
