ARgg, so annoying. Not at you per say but the fact that I ordered Jan 11th and mine has not changed. It doesn't' make sense you ordered 20 days after me with modifications and yours is shipped first? Good for you, bad for me. Are they shipping custom orders first, it almost seems that way the way people are posting, everything posted has had some change to it.

From the ratio listed by this forum, it seems that more people ordered 2.93GHz vs the 2.66GHz. However, on the Apple discussion, there is an even amount of both models.

I don't have a real explanation, but if your status does not change, call up apple and say your friends who ordered the same laptop nearly a month later is receiving "Prepared/Shipped" statuses while you're still stuck at Stage 1.

I have been thinking the same thing. It looks like the people that ordered stock orders are getting shafted. Probably because they are sending all the stock machines to the Apple stores and Apple resellers.

I paid less than you did for the same model even after Tax... I even got 100$ off when apple screwed up on the shipping time. Some people buy directly from Apple since they get hell of a deal discounts from their work or other means so not all people who buy from apple are suckers.

Ok, my post in response to this was removed for no reason so I'll say it again. I'm not arguing that I paid less than developers. I've looked up your deal and I envy it, but the conversation was about average consumers, not dev deals. And even the non-dev student and corporate discount is more expensive from apple with taxes than a reseller deal. I don't know why that rubs you the wrong way, but its true.

And in San Francisco we also pay 8.5% and Apple does charge exactly that at the store or online.

this better change soon :(

Has anyone who is getting a new 17 inch unibody as a replacement for an older broken model heard any news about shipping? My order status page has not been updated once since the order for the new MBP went through from Applecare.

It still says, "Ships FEB. 10th". And, of course, it says, "Not yet shipped".

The actual order date says Jan. 20th.

Whenever I call Apple they have no information for me.

Actually, this makes sense. I have only seen orders as late as the 15th show shipping signs.

I ordered Jan 22 and don't expect orders before me to be shipped after me. The way Apple is moving, those around the 22nd will ship the 19th, possibly the 18th at the soonest.

I wouldn't get ruffled until the 19th passes with nothing happening.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that i ordered through an education store online? I also had iWork and Logic installed, so maybe mine is just one that was a special case?

My replacement order was dated Feb 3, and I don't even have a ship date. It has always said 7-10 business days.

Any AntiGlare shipping or prepared to ship?

I ordered my MBP 1/13 with Anti-Glare, I still have not seen a status change. Anyone with the Anti-Glare option with a prepare to ship or shipping status?

Shipping!

Went from "Not yet shipped" to "Shipped" last night! :) (I didn't even get to see the "Prepared for shipping" status - thanks Apple! :) ) Looks like Apple's Irish lads are churning them out for Europe (and the UK  ).

Shipped: 17 Feb
Shipping delayed to: 19 Feb
Orig. order date: 8 Jan

UPS Ireland? They'd still be coming from Shanghai though I'd assume, right? It'd be awesome if they were coming from Cork. I ask because I ordered a few things last year and they both came from China via TNT.

Does the tracking mention the origin yet?

Mine says "Shipped on: Feb 17, 2009" ... as I am in UK, not too sure as to how long does "shipped" take to arrive. I am sure it is not going to be that long .. at least I pray and hope not.

Can't wait to get my hands on her :p

Yes, Ireland!

Yes, Ireland. Although the machines presumably all originate in Asia, I assume they are put in their boxes, preloaded with software, etc., in Ireland and shipped from there to European (and UK) destinations. I ordered an iMac for delivery to the UK seven years ago, and it came from Cork, too. Whether this is always the case is anyone's guess.

No tracking info yet available from UPS - but Apple's handy tracking info (click on the tracking number when provided via Apple's orderstatus page) notes the "Current Delivery Status" as "Shipment dispatched".

Interesting.

My G5 and later, my Mac Pro both were built in (and shipped from) Ireland.

All my laptops have come from China, however, and they all were shipped and tracked from there.

Perhaps Apple has a plant building these in Ireland, or perhaps they've adopted a way of bulk packaging for their initial distribution, and have final packaging lines nearer the delivery locations. If so, delivery times should be very fast.

My delivery date has been delayed now

It went from the 19th to the 20th, but if FedEx decides to delay it again, it won't be here until next week because here at school, we don't get deliveries on Saturdays! This honestly doesn't surprise me at all...I've NEVER had a FedEx delivery arrive on time/when a company wants it to. Once, I had an order that was in their possession (from musiciansfriend.com), and they held onto it for 3 or 4 days plus a weekend before finally moving it out from Kansas City (and I had even paid for 2-3 day delivery).

Hopefully, all of our shipments will go quickly and smoothly!

It's on its way!

Hi all, I have just received notification from Apple that they have sent my New MacBook Por 17":). However, despite being classed as "Urgent Dispatch" it is not scheduled to arrive until 25th Feb. So much for overnight couriers.:(. Let's see if they can deliver this one without losing it like they did recently with my new Mac Pro 3.2:rolleyes:

Guys, while this thread is entertaining and all, and we all are excited about our new 17-inchers.. could you please cool down with the arguments on who got the better deal and who paid the least amount. Or I will have to tell you what I paid. Sweden have 25% VAT, you know..
