Did they give you a time on Wednesday?

FedEx says delivery the 25th for me. Mine missed the shipment out yesterday. It looks like the first SSD orders reach the buyers about the same time Wednesday.

I wrote the guy who claims to have matte and SSD delivered. He won't open up the machine to take a picture of the SSD.

He says he will take a screen shot of the profiler--I bet that will happen after the real deliveries happen and he can copy a photo someone else took--otherwise he woud have posted it already.

No time. I usually get FedEx deliveries around noon but I will be in Europe so my parents will sign for it and I will open when I am home the following week. Hopefully someone will test out the performance and post the results for me.

Yeah pics or we all call B.S. I was one of the first to order...and ordered matte (rest stock) and still have Feb 27th as a ship date.

same thing for me -- matte (rest stock, jan 6). i dont believe any matte displays have shipped yet. i called BS until i see a picture.

I will benchbark it with XBench--at least, and time the boot up and shut down, and I will open it up--in fact I will video the whole thing. I want to see what brand that SSD is installed. I may purchase some benchmark software too. People will want to know what the difference is between SSD and a 7200rpm drive. Apple should have done this already. And that is not all. I'll load up Snow Leopard and see what difference that makes. So check back here.

In My Hands!!

Picked mine up from the FedEx location in Austin, TX today after Apple and FedEx both have told me several times it just wouldn't be possible to get it before Monday. Apple even gave me a $150 credit for the inconvenience. As late as this morning FedEx said it wouldn't be possible...then I noticed that it arrived the local facility this morning so I called back and got someone on the phone and made my case (yet again). 30 minutes later she called back and said, "I've got it in my hands, come and get it"!

Well who here has got the shortest ship time? From the time you ordered, to getting confirmation email from Apple with tracking information?

You know, after all the times I have tried to pick one up from the local location, it is like pulling teeth EVERY TIME!

I think it has something to do with the fact that they handle so many special cases already for those that really have problems and they probably look at it like this; if you wanted Saturday delivery, then you should have instructed your vendor to ship it Saturday delivery and you pay for it.

I am ambivalent when it comes to all this. I know that they have a job to do, but if you are the rightful recipient, then don't you have a right to your package? Well, I would think you don't have a right to it RIGHT THEN, but you will have a right to it on the date it is to be delivered.

If they cannot deliver according to your original ship request time frame, then the vendor will need to get a refund from FEDEX and you get a credit from the vendor (i.e. Apple).

Therefore, I say all this to basically communicate that FEDEX is doing us a favor if they even let us know how to pick it up before the due date.

One thing you can always do is tell the vendor to ship it to the local FEDEX location and you will pick up there if you think that suits your schedule better. That is always an option on every shipping document from UPS and FEDEX.

I know that most of us on this forum are just excited, but I hope none of us get PO'd at FEDEX for making it hard on us to pick it up before the promised date of delivery.

Mine is to be delivered Monday. It is at the Houston sort facility right now with hundreds of other boxes. I know it will be delivered Monday just fine, no complaints and I am thankful that Apple got it out a day earlier than they promised (from the delayed ship date anyway).

I'm typing on mine!! :]

I said I'd post pics a few days ago but I was having trouble registering the MBP with campus IT so I didn't have internets. Good luck to all that don't have their's yet!!

Can you post pics now? I still haven't seen any really good pics. I'm waiting on an anti glare but would like to see as many pics as I can...

Can't wait to get the model of that SSD. Anyone know yet?

Didn't you order yours in early Jan? You should get one sooner than the rest of us. Where are you?

Mine was shipped about 12 hours ago. I ordered Jan 21st. Hopefully it's actually on a plane instead of waiting till Monday. I ordered a Airport Extreme last week, got the shipping email on Saturday morning, but the UPS tracking only goes back to Monday morning with "Billing Info Received" or whatever. I know there's a difference because that came from the UK and not a factory in China but I'll still be a little worried until I get a tracking number.

After being put through the ringer by Apple, my MBP finally shipped yesterday. Apple (escalation team) called me to let me know that the warehouse had been contacted by whatever group handles those types of issues. It took me countless phone calls to Apple day after day to finally get to someone who could help me. Thanks Kevin!

I ordered my MBP on January 6th immediately after the Apple Store came back on-line after the keynote. They were very apologetic and actually knocked some $$$ off. It's slated to be delivered on the 25th, but my money is on Monday ;) My configuration and delivery information is below.
