So I just went to "prepared for shipment" -- how long has it typically taken between that and the actual shipment happening?
Turns out mind was supposed to ship a while back but Apple goofed. Talked to them tonight.
12 hours or so.

Mine has been sitting in Newark, NJ (about an hour drive from here) since Friday night. I'm hoping it gets on a truck in time for tomorrow. Scheduled delivery is Tuesday, but unless it's waiting for another truck it could definitely make it here earlier.
Mine was on the same flight as yours all the way to Newark I think. However, my tracking shows that it departed Newark at 8:46PM Saturday night. I'm in Buffalo, NY, so I'm not sure if there's another intermediate stop somewhere. I'm hoping it will be here tomorrow morning.
Can you post an image of your FedEx route, date and times?
Did it go direct from Anchorage to Newark, or did it stop somewhere else?
Anybody have a ship date from a third party reseller yet? PCConnection said their batch wouldn't arrive until first week of march. Thank goodness for conciliatory 2 day shipping upgrades.
Even though I'm in Australia, Apple are not returning any emails from my workplace whom is an Apple reseller about my 17" pro Unibody order progress. I'm under the impression that any sales from apple.com will get first priority because Apple will be making much more money from them then they would from a sale from a reseller.
It is a bit disgraceful that Apple whom was contacted mid last week by email have not replied. Usually they respond in 24hrs but 3 days is a bit of a disgrace.
Dont you have phones in your reseller store?
I think this was his obnoxious way of asking you if you could call Apple directly about your inquiry instead of waiting for email replies.
I called Apple today about my order and found out the following about my order:
2.93 GHZ
4GB RAM
320 GB, 7200 rpm
Glossy display
They have been delaying my 17" MBP because of a ridiculous sleeve I ordered that was out of stock (Brenthaven eclipse III).
I was supposed to wait another month for this thing (!).
Luckily, I had them seperate the order and ship the 17" ASAP, which I´m being told is in 3-4 days. Bugger all to the sleeve, I said. Give me my Mac!
So, just to let others waiting know: check your order for additional products that there may be an additional wait for. Have Apple seperate them.
For the record:
The women I spoke to was both professional and friendly. And she offered to give me "a good will gesture" as soon as shipping details were in order. She constantly pointed to the shipping estimates at apple.com, as if I was supposed to understand why the delay by myself. I constantly answered that those estimates had changed continously for the last month or so.
Well, all in all a good morning phonecall, I say.
Cheers,
P
hmmm...
I wasn't asking anything...
I was making a point and that was;
Even businesses that have contacts with Apple and thus not having to go threw their public customer care service that Apple is still giving the cold shoulder on actual dates of delivery.
I have no idea how you managed to get what you did out of what I said?
The link was to confirm that there was no phones available where I work.
Enough of that. I'm being childish by replying to such a stupid post.
09:30 UPS delieveredThursday off Shanghai, Monday in Germany, not bad for having a weekend in between
Right now migrating from my 15" MBP
Mine was first estimated for the 26th and then changed for the 23rd. The last time I ordered a MBP though, I had a Ipod on order also. It took 2 more days, because the MBP flew to Holland first to pick up the Ipod and only then was delivered to me.That's quite encouraging. Mine was shipped to the UK on the 19th but the estimated delivery day according to the order status is the 1st March![]()
That's exactly what mine says as well; "in Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule". It says estimated delivery date 27th Feb, no tracking details or anything! So annoying
I got my shipped email on 17th! still waiting... impatiently.
