Picked mine up from the FedEx location in Austin, TX today after Apple and FedEx both have told me several times it just wouldn't be possible to get it before Monday. Apple even gave me a $150 credit for the inconvenience. As late as this morning FedEx said it wouldn't be possible...then I noticed that it arrived the local facility this morning so I called back and got someone on the phone and made my case (yet again). 30 minutes later she called back and said, "I've got it in my hands, come and get it"!

Nice going Colin. I can see you are the type of guy that won't let obstacles stand in your way. A sign of success! Also, it gives the rest of us amunition when we try to do the same.

Clearly it all depends on how lazy the people are on the other side. When you are persistent, you eventually find someone equally dedicated on the other end.

I know that most of us on this forum are just excited, but I hope none of us get PO'd at FEDEX for making it hard on us to pick it up before the promised date of delivery.

FedEx has nearly always been on time for me. I also am on the early morning part of their route--so I would never complain. Even UPS is pretty good, often delivering in one day for my location--albeit at the late part of the day.

The only organization that get's me PO'd is the US Postal Service. They are the laziest, most useless people on the planet. I hope the US Government privatizes or simply closes the USPS. Anyone could do a better job than they can.

SSD Orders

Is yours shipped already? Mine hasn't changed from "prepared..".

It looks like you have a fully loaded system. It will be interesting to see how the extra RAM effects performance. Please Xbench your system. Run it three times and average the results and we can see if the extra RAM makes a difference.

Mine is sitting in China having missed the plane--delivery on the 25th. What is your status?

If only I knew where mine was. I would drive there and pick it up myself

It has been six days after shipping and the status at :apple: is still not showing anything. I think :apple: give it to a carrier that will take it for a tour around the world and after 8 days it will finally arrive in my country where it is handed over to UPS. Then probably the track and trace is updated telling me that it will be delivered that day or the day after.

The only thing :apple: is telling me now is that it is "in Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" but I really want to know what kind of schedule it is. I feel discriminated by all the people that receive it within two days ;)

My status is "shipment dispatched". Apple estimates delivery to Dublin on March 3rd unfortunately. If it's still sitting in China then that's probably accurate.

It says I ordered mine on January 6th at 10:59 AM PDT. Perhaps yours is taking a little longer because you have a few more BTOs than me? I have everything stock except the anti glare option.

Waiting, and then waiting again

I ordered mine at feb 1st, and got the feb 19th shipping date as many others.

However, I decided I wantet to upgrade from 2.66 Mhz to 2.93 Mhz.
I called Apple at feb 11th, who promised me "not much of a delay". But
next time I checked my order status, it was:
Estimated shipping march 11th, estimated delivery march 24th. In other words
they increased the wait with more than a month. Specs are:
2.93, 320 GB 7200 rpm and GL screen

I am a somewhat dissapointed, even though I managed to knock 50 euro (or $ 65) off the prize during the first call. Now that I´ve discovered they are letting me wait a whole month, I want to call again ...

That's exactly what mine says as well; "in Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule". It says estimated delivery date 27th Feb, no tracking details or anything! So annoying
I got my shipped email on 17th! still waiting... impatiently.

Wow. My estimated delivery just jumped from March 3rd to February 24th. It still appears to be in China but the shipping method on UPSs site is one I'm unfamiliar with. It says World Ease / UPS Saver. Is it possible Apple bumped the shipping method to expedite it due to the delay?

If it gets here in Tuesday or, in fact, anytime this week it'll be faster than any shipment they've ever sent me from China.

I live in London too and im in the same boat. Im guessing you ordered Applecare with yours as well? Thats whats holding them up, someone has to open the box and put the Applecare Certificate in there, so 1 week longer wait, and those people dont work on weekends.

I spoke to a friend who still works for Apple and he told me we should get a tracking number on Tuesday (24th) and 26/27th is most likely date we'll recieve them.

Mine was shipped on the 17th and my tracking just says "in transit to customer" its so frustrating, and frankly rude.

Mine says the same, was wondering where the others where getting all the detailed shipping info.. Im in the north of the UK

Mine shipped on the 19th ordered on the 24th Jan

Yeah I ordered Applecare, that's so stupid... they could've just emailed it! Hopefully will get it before 27th! It's really frustrating, especially as I've seen people on here that have received theirs! It's amazing that I had an original shipping date of Feb 9th, delivery Feb 19th! I wish it had come then!

I think at this rate the Moshi Clearguard I ordered on 18th will get here before the MBP! (which is good in a way as that's the last accessory I'm waiting for! I've already got my mouse, speakers and sleeve!).

i ordered mine on feb 1st.
it's antiglare, 2,93 and has iwork09 preinstalled.
does the iwork-order leads to the same delay as the apple-care order does?
it still says that it would ship on 27th, but to be honest, i really doubt it.
anyways, i'm still looking forward to be able to edit hd videos again very soon. :)

I just checked and it appears UPS Saver is "delivery within 2 business days", which is ****ing incredible for Europe.

Ordered mine on Jan 6th (10:50PM GMT)
2.93GHz, 320GB @7200rpm, MATTE display

After the early febuary delay shipment was delayed from 18th of Feb to 27th of Feb. Early arrival schedule was March 3rd (WTF?!), I figured that was a 'rough' estimate in which they would be safe regardless.

Yesterday received notification it shipped, so it was only 3 days late, not too bad.
According to apple it should arrive before the 27th, but in detailed stats it says 24th...

According to UPS it will be delivered tomorrow...

At least it's way before the 3rd of March, organizing my old MBP 17" this weekend to have a smooth transition. I'm really looking forward now!!! :)

Mine has been sitting in Newark, NJ (about an hour drive from here) since Friday night. I'm hoping it gets on a truck in time for tomorrow. Scheduled delivery is Tuesday, but unless it's waiting for another truck it could definitely make it here earlier.

Looks like early this week, some anti glare systems are going to be in peoples hands. I wonder whose going to be the first to get one and post a pic or two. I know with a feb 27th ship date....... I'm out of the running.

SSD Orders

After studying the other posts, I think there is an slight chance I could pick my MBP up at the local FedEx Facility on Tuesday Evening--the 24th.

If they have a direct flight to Newark, it could be up here sooner and I have a tiny chance I could get it on Monday.

I'll definitely have my machine by Wednesday morning.

I am going to check into it tomorrow.

Mine was on the same flight as yours all the way to Newark I think. However, my tracking shows that it departed Newark at 8:46PM Saturday night. I'm in Buffalo, NY, so I'm not sure if there's another intermediate stop somewhere. I'm hoping it will be here tomorrow morning.

So I just went to "prepared for shipment" -- how long has it typically taken between that and the actual shipment happening?

Turns out mind was supposed to ship a while back but Apple goofed. Talked to them tonight.

Anybody have a ship date from a third party reseller yet? PCConnection said their batch wouldn't arrive until first week of march. Thank goodness for conciliatory 2 day shipping upgrades.
