So mine is out for delivery, but still says Feb 24th (tomorrow by 10:30) so I'm not sure what time it will come. The only problem now is I rent and have back door entrance. I left a little sticky note on the front door telling the FedEx guy to use the back door. Hopefully he cares enough to do it, lol.

Otherwise, I can presign but that would involve going to my parents house to print the form because I don't have a printer here at the moment. If I do that though, I may might miss him. 😱

Yes mine too is out for delivery I cant wait. The delivery time didnt change for me either but, I expect mine to arrive here within the next hour.😀
 
I think this is the hardest part of the wait. You know the MacBook Pro is on the truck and going to stop at your house but, your not too sure what time that will be.

This is going to be my first Mac ever!!! I glad I made the jump and I can't wait to see how the "Mac Life" is. I will post up some pics and just first overall impressions from a new user. :apple:😀
 
Are any of you guys who are getting delivery today, getting matte screens?

If so, please try to post a pic, so we can finally see what it looks like.

barring any hold up in customs, mine is slated for delivery on 25.2 (order date 6.1) i'm hoping it shows up tomorrow since i paid for expedited delivery, but we shall see. it shipped yesterday but didn't move until 9am this morning (est). and so the wait begins again...

The long journey is finally over. I received my 17" unibody this morning. All my moaning and complaining has dissolved into uncontrollable happiness .... and it's only 10:00 a.m.!
 
I just got mine. I am posting on it now. The thing is friggin huge! And the screen is just gorgeous. Although its like ten degrees out, and its still too cold to keep my hands on for more than like 15 seconds at a time, I am in love.
 
Just got mine! Going to start it up and verify that everything is fine. If so, will be installing my Seagate 500GB 7200rpm drive.

When you get the old hard drive out, please, share with me what is the maximum height of a hard drive that is possible to be placed within the new body.

Seriously, you'll have to let us know how that SSD is treating you the minute you get that thing! While I couldn't bring myself to pony up the $$$ for it, I have secretly told myself that if it comes down another $150 or so I'm all in 😀
 
I am just in awe with the beauty of this computer. I am very pleased and only have been playing with it for about an hour or so. I have the base model and it more than I will ever use. The screen is just perfect (for my use) I couldn't have asked for anything better. Setup was fast and easy I really glad I made the jump to the world of Mac Computers. This is just worth every penny I paid. I will have more to say later.

Shipping was just great a Big thanks to FedEx. I wasn't suppose to get this until tomorrow, but due to fast shipping I was able to get it this morning. 😀😀😀
 
Wow... this machine is a beauty. The screen is incredible (I have the glossy version) and the colors simply fantastic. Easy to handle and not too heavy. Definitely right around the same weight as my Dell 15". It's nice and fast, and is definitely crimping my work day! I really like the backlit keyboard. Interestingly, I find it easier to type on the 17" MBP keyboard than on my kids' 13" unibody MB... strange. The screen real estate is simply amazing. Ok, gotta go... need to wipe the drool.

I've read nearly every post in this thread. I keep thinking to myself, "people, your 17" MBP will get to you....calm down. Sooner or later you'll get it, relax."

My scheduled delivery was for today, 2/23/09 before 10:30am according to Fed-Ex ...
I've been staying calm, but still tracking my package on the Fed-Ex site since China....
I've tried not to get too excited...been waiting patiently since last week when I was notified it had shipped....
Had to come into work this morning.... checked my delivery status...
According to the time stamp on the Fed-Ex site, it was delivered to my home 30 minutes after I left for work (left at 7:30am)... I pre-signed....
So, I have a 17" uni-MBP sitting outside my back door steps... freezing it's poor little 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo off....
And I won't get home until 7:30p tonight.....
I want to leave work NOW ! Oh, this is killing me. Now I feel the excitement I've read about all week. 6 hours to go.... tick tock tick tock🙁

Seriously I can't wait anymore. My Feb 1st, Antiglare order hasnt even gone to "Prepared" status yet, even though they took my money last Wednesday. I check my status every 30 minutes or so and its killing me. I think I'm gonna have to freeze myself until my order arrives at which point my friend Butters will have to thaw me out.
 
Sorry, a bit off-topic but it's been brought up in this thread before (can't find the specific thread for this). According to a poster on the Apple boards, the 17" models are in-stock at the Cleveland OH store.

I just called one of the stores within 1/2 hour from me (Ann Arbor MI) and they do not have them in stock yet FWIW.

If the retail stores are stocking them this week, have to wonder- that's not a huge amount of leadtime over all of the pre-orders. I think the 1st pre-orders came in last week- that means, for all of the teeth-gnashing and hand-wringing from January 6 until then, all that was gained is 1 weeks time when someone could have walked right into a store and bought one, with no tracking or delivery hassle.

I know this doesn't take into account CTO configurations (which most of the Pre-orders have), or folks that don't live close to an apple store, etc. i personally ordered the 2.93 with everything else stock as I plan to drop my X25M 160GB that's in my 15" Unibody into the new machine. I'd expect that the faster processors would be on-hand in stores, even if HD and screen options are not- not a definite, but not unheard of either.

Please don't take this as an assault on pre-ordering- I myself originally ordered on Jan 20, and have ordered many of these right after WWDC dropped (I think back to the original MBP launch, and the grief we all experienced as it was delayed, then processor speeds all got bumped, etc.). I'm just wondering out loud (and rambling) on whether I would pre-order again.

Only good news is promise of free case due to delay AND if you apply 'British' time to delivery it's 26th-Thursday instead of Friday! Not very good news BUT...
This is so frustrating-think Apple really ought to be clearer about how their shipping process works-despite what Applelady said, I'm sure 'Merge in Transit' of anything causes delays. I'm very envious of those who know/knew there MBP is in Korea or Anchorage or Cologne!!!

Yeah it really is frustrating, thanks for the good news though... fingers crossed it'll be here on 26th!

First we dont even know if the in store rumor is true, you could always phone that particular store and check?

Secondly some people got their laptops well over a week ago so i would say pre ordering is worth it.

Just got my tracking number from Apple!!! Being shipped with TNT!! after days of "in transit" and yeah i ordered it with Applecare to merge here, got shipped from China on the 17th Feb 🙂

(original order 19th Jan, Upgraded Stock Model, Check Signature for specs)

This probably means mine will be here tommorow 🙂 yeeeeeeeee cant wait 😛
 
I got a tracking number!

I just checked my order status page and I have a tracking number (although I didn't receive an email).
I checked it on UPS and it doesn't recognise the number! It doesn't actually say who the courier is! all it says is:
Assigned Carrier
UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Anyone in the UK know who the courier is?
