New MBP 17" delivery dates!

i ordered yesterday teh stock model and it has shipped today!! I was initially given a 12-13 March delivery date...now it says on or before 5th March!! thats on thursday!! that is unbelievablt quick!!

quick question: if i cant get anyone to be in the house on thursday where do UPS take it? (im in uk)?! do i have to arrange a meeting or something?

OMFG just checked again and the page now says 4th march....thats 2 days...!! WTF!!! this is insane...!!

i hope they ship out the one i ordered to replace a scratched up one i got last week. i ended up getting them to let me place a order for the new one so i didnt have to send this one back before the new one arrived. i ordered originally on jan 6th. the order was placed today for a matte display. we'll see how long till it ships...

Yeah, mine now shows a departure scan, but the delivery date has vanished... We must have been in the same container... My Apple Order status also no longer shows a delivery date. Guess I need to give UPS a call to understand the actual delivery date, as someone will need to be there to sign.... Nothin's easy any more.....
 
I ordered mine on 13 January with only the 7200 HDD. It just shipped today. They have them in stores here. WTF? I am a little pissed off. Still won't get it until Friday. Really annoyed.

I would be a little peeved too. I ordered a 2.93, 320 gig 7200, and anti-glare LCD on February 24th and mine shipped today.

I hear ya!

So odd, my status is still stuck at the exception, with no update since this morning. I'm hoping it got shipped out today so I can have it before the weekend. I'll probably be calling UPS myself tomorrow.

Hey, at least you got some dates. I've been told that's impossible when ordering through APRs. I'm just waiting for my phone to ring.

Wow I can tell instantly from that photo that the unibody 17" looks super contrasty. But hey that background.. is it the same default one as your older 17"?? Because it looks like the shimmering part of the background looks much bigger.

i got the dates because the company i work for buys alot from Dustin AB, and through my contact @ dustin I got the ordernumber then I just called apple store and asked..

:D

hopefully yours will come this/next week,...we have waited far too long
i just hope I have it before 23/3 because I will go for a virtulization fair.

I have both of the machines next to me and it looks much bigger in reallife to .. the iphone cam imo did not show even close to the diff in screen brightness but the new MBP is much much much brighter then my old 17 inch MBP

its possibly the best 17 inch matte I have ever own ..

I am so glad I did not go with glossy .. I have no reflections with this antiglare and the ssd and MagLev Cooling system makes the computer the most silence mac I have ever used .. its dead silent ..

The AntiGlare is so darn good that I would't use a glossy even if I got a glossy for free .. I defently recomend this AntiGlare to everyone ... and its not even close to the prototype version that was on display on MacWorld 09 .. This AntiGlare is much brighter than any images I´ve seen on the net ..

And that suprises me that apple showed of a prototype antiglare at MacWorld that looked terible compared to the final product ...

overall This MBP 17 inch AntiGlare is the best Portable Mac I have ever owned ...

Sadly my order just did the exact same thing. Went through from billing received to export scan really quickly, and is now stating an Exception. Looks like they are shipping all of ours on the same bird.

Been waiting since 1/10/09 for this so I don't care too much, just sad that the online store no longer lists it as new. :(
 
Has anyone else's had a strange series of tracking like this?

It seems to have magically transported from Alaska to Kentucky. What's with the missing info?
 
how many days after the shipping you guys get the tracking number? my one was shipped on 28/02 and no tracking is available yet. when i log into my apple order page it just says hipped on 28/02 thats it. there is however a delivery reference number. am i supposed to enter it somewhere to get the shipping info?

Hello, I ordered on Feb 11th, it shipped on Feb 25th (standard config apart from HD upgrade to 7200 but I did order DVID, applecare & iwork which I understand slows things down).

No carrier tracking number has appeared as of today. I called this morning & they said it was still en route. He gave me a 10 digit reference (which appears on the shipment status page as "Our Delivery Reference Number" on the left) and said to go into UPS and TNT on Wednesday night to track it through them with this number.

You might try this with your number - if you haven't ordered extras you might be able to track it sooner. Good luck!

My delivery date is showing as 5th March.

The wait is almost unbearable...
