hi, maybe that is also my case, so you think it's ok to get it back to the store for a replacement? honestly eversince, i discovered this problem, i can't stop thinking about this, i don't know if this yellow thing can cause harm or can worsen in the long run. maybe i just want my macbook pro to be standard or normal just like it is supposed to be... so you plan on returning it? or you are keeping it?
I will be returning this MBP as soon as possible, and if they give me any trouble as im within the two weeks rule I will be returning it to them for a refund. And then I just go and buy a new one and start all over unless they actually send me something that works out of the box.
I dont find this amusing having to explain to them that there are actually problems with the delivered MBPs and that they think im sort of a nutcase imagining things and being more petty about proving the fault and it being within spec.
It should be an exception not a rule that this happens to customers, even their great service doesnt take away the foul taste in my mouth, feeling distrusted, insulted and unsatisfied and thinking they are doing me a favour by replacing a faulty unit instead of forcing me to repair a brand new unit.
They aint doing me a favour if they are replacing it with another obviously faulty unit. They do what is supposed of them when they give me a working product and without unacceptable faults.
Its not like I care that its not perfect, I dont, but I would be more satisfied if it was, but there are limits to what I see as simple imperfections when they become faults, such as yellowing. I've had 5 MBPs not one of them was without some fault, banding, yellowing, backlight leaking and heat.
They do seem to have serious quality issues, not only did my have yellowing it also idles at 56-58 C and simple tasks like surfing and installing applications makes it go up 65 and above. The previous ones I had with problems were much cooler idle at 42-50 C and at simple tasks no more than 60.
This seem to go up and down in waves probably as they get new recruits that dont know how to apply cooling paste. Still not acceptable to me even if they think its within spec that a machine should run 10-15 C warmer depending on the quality of the employees want to put into their work. Because some factory employees dont listen or their bosses dont communicate instructions correctly or whatever the reason all the way to Steve Jobs.
Anyway, im returning this one and I will get a replacement if they dont want to give me one I will get refund and then I will buy a new and replace it until I get tired of it or they ship me one that is in acceptable condition and not needing instant repairs. Maybe that will make them think about quality issues when making products I really really want to have.
P.S. And im probably getting a refund this time, because they it will be to much of a hassle to get a replacement unit when they already sent me so many faulty ones. Just as well might be good to get a new history with them.
Also I argument with Apple representatives in a good manner and inform them of my point of view on matters. They want a sale and I want a working without faults computer. If I dont get what I want I just get a refund and decide later what to do with my money. I keep myself within the two weeks that way I have as much on Apple as they have on me.
