With all of this talk about stereo speakers...it seems to me that Apple ought to partner up with Bose on some of this stuff.

Post of 2010 right there.

LOL Bose. Seriously wow.

Buy Other Sound Equipment.

No highs, no lows, must be Bose.

Bose: It rhymes with blows.

It shows what marketing can do for such cheaply made, poor performing, ridiculously overpriced products.

This makes no sense. Why put a large speaker on the back of the iPad and direct all the sound away from the primary user? Now you have to turn the iPad upside-down when you want to hear it clearly?

I call fake. Theres NO way the next iPad will be pink.

;)

"Introducing the iPad Pink! This is revolution to get women to buy an iPad and not use a case, we think it's magical. It will change everything. Again."

On a serious note, I don't know about that speaker tbh how do you sell that? Listen to your music in a mono speaker?

A speaker like that on the back would always tempt me to want to put my finger over it, therefore it would never work for me.

Should each of us go make a crappy Photochop of our own speaker design and submit it for front page news?

uhh bose speakers are cheap $2 Chinese made drivers with DSP on DSP, its not great at all... just really expensive.
That's an overgeneralization. Have you ever owned some or used them? They do actually make a better product than many cheaper sound devices (while they have had some stinkers in the mix). They just don't compare to some other audio brands which are high end because they make great products.

Some people take those product attacks a little too far. For example, people like to call Monster products junk. They actually make good products in many cases. They just happen to charge 10x+ more than those products are actually worth. Bose does not make bottom-tier trash. They're just not the brand for an informed consumer.

I'd take part in that; but I've never heard of the application: PhotoChop, before.

Actually, I've found the sound on my iPad to be quite nice, considering the fact that ITS NOT A BOOM BOX, fer chrissakes. I was suprised by the fact that you can actually feel bass through your fingers as you hold it.

But Jezus people, what do you expect from a portable device?

But as an aside, why would they make the speaker point AWAY from the primary user?
Just asking.

Terrible fake. There's no way the camera is bigger than the home button.

Photochop = (bad/funny) Photoshop job

Remember the good old days, where people said:
- photocrap
- photocarp
- photos...
- what's that supposed to be?
- that looks like carp.
- photomush
- sausage

Cant they put stereo speakers on the ipad?? Its big enough to have 2 of these speakers at then bottom. That would be so much nicer.

There is a lot inside the iPad, so there may not be room for major speakers. And if he are thinking about any form of SD slot or camera or more RAM etc, there really might not be room

Plus maybe no one is making such a component at an acceptable level of battery use. That is a major issue with Apple.

I'm not sure why everyone is worked up about a bigger speaker in the back. None of the iOS devices have a speaker directly facing the user....neither the iphone, ipod or even the current ipad. There is a reason for this....it's called packaging and aesthetics. Why should the new ipad be any different. If anything it'll be louder and sound better.

As for stereo speakers, again it's all marketing hype...and I hate when people get so caught up with crap like this and don't think about things. Small stereo speakers in a small device is pointless! You will NOT hear a difference when there are two dinky little speakers inches from each other. That's the truth...the rest in marketing. As a matter of fact, I will argue that 1 quality, larger, full range speaker will sound better in a small device than two smaller/lower quality speakers. 1 good quality speaker will take up less room, will sound better, and will use less power(longer battery life) than 2 smaller speakers.

This whole speaker crap is no different than megapixels on the camera. Someone said to me the other day that their Android had 10 megapixels and they were so proud and asked me how many megapixels my iPhone 4 had. I basically told them that their 10 megapixel camera is nothing but marketing ***** and all it does is eat up their memory. My Canon Elph that is "only" 7 megapixels would make his Android phone look like a toy when it comes to taking real pictures. BTW, I've got a digital SLR that "only" matches his Android phone at 10 megapixels...let's not even go there trying to compare them...when I've got a 2 pound lens that bigger than 4 of his phones combined. What most people don't realize is that after 5 megapixels, the rest is just crap and a waste of memory. Why? Because a 2mm optical lens that is poor quality is the bottleneck. All 10 megapixels does is blow up the crap bigger.

Same with optics and same with audio.

BTW, the real name for Bose is Blose (Blows).

Kan-O-Z

Monster is not Bose. All Bose is junk, and has sound quality comparable to $10 clock radios. Ever taken them apart? Ever analyzed them with actual sound equipment? Bose sued audio magazines when they did, now they don't get reviewed anymore.

And Monster's quality is definitely hit or miss. Not worth the price on most of their products.

I want the new iPad to have VERY MINOR revisions. Gen 1 needs to be 90% of Gen 2 (yes, because I have one). It hasn't been "on top" long enough. We don't need something to totally decimates the current iPad.

I DON'T want to see:
- a new screen (higher res)
- a USB port
- a much faster processor

Minor revisions. Save the big changes for next year.

:( But its not Stereo.

Now days who designs devices that don't have 2 speakers for Stereo. I rather have 2 smaller speakers spread out then one large one.

I guess its not water proof anymore. :D

Bose is one of those companies which makes decent products at the ultra-high pricing because their brand recognition is what people are paying money for. There are better options for the buck. Kinda like Monster, but not quite as bad.

Have you? If so post your results, otherwise it's just noise.
