So you cannot just cut a sim yourself?
you can...just somewhat fiddly etc the cutter does it all for you!
So you cannot just cut a sim yourself?
looking into Three.co.uk at the mo - i've got one of there mifi dongles with my ipad and it's spanking - so if they offer iphone4 with a better rate then o2 - i'm jumping ship to three
O2 seem to be getting hit pretty hard on Twitter, maybe we should start an online protest.

Isn't anyone bothered by the fact MMS is now not included in the unlimited text plan, and they're now charging 20p/MMS?
Not cool, O2, not cool!
The drop from unlimited to 500MB of 3G data won't affect me but that is beside the point.
though note these cutters are not released until July![]()
Not true!or get a micro sim cutter off ebay and make a micro sim yourself! there is no difference between the two aside from size.

All Orange and 3 have to do is match these poor tariff's and they'll gain a boatload of customers due to their much better network coverage.
Then wait for the deluge of whingeing threads to the effect "I've cut my SIM card and now it doesn't work!! What can I do??"![]()

not at the minute, but what about all those lovely new features and current and future iPhone apps that will lap up data?
i.e. bbc iplayer, sky player, facetime google docs, imovie,
didnt Apple say that data plans had to be unrestricted so as to not stifle adoption or development?
data caps will stifle development, and we'll be back in the dark ages again.
O2 just broke the iPhone.
I undesrstand it's not 500MB it is 1GB for iphone :
"All our smartphone tariffs for iPhone include Visual Voicemail, up to 1GB of UK data and unlimited Wi-Fi."
Correct me if i'm wrong
I have to disagree with that statement, I travel a lot and when in Cardiff and Exeter the 02 coverage is excellent.
last year it was #o2fail ... continue the trend!

I think the key words are up to 1gb meaning that this is the maximum on the higher tariff. On the lower tariffs you will only get 500mb.
No, you aren't upgrading in a contract sense - it is only if you sign up to a new airtime agreement as part of your upgrade that you will be stung with the change. If you buy the iPhone on PAYG and use your existing SIM then your airtime agreement is completely unchanged.Hmmmmm... If you buy the iPhone 4 on PAYG you'll be moved to a new plan? Technically you've upgraded to a new phone.
No - again that is not changing your airtime agreement, merely the SIM your handset uses to connect to the network. If O2 were to try and insist on you signing up to a new airtime agreement in exchange for a microSIM (and I can't imagine they would) then you could simply cut your existing SIM down yourself (or get a cutter to do it) - the only difference is the amount of plastic surrounding the chip in the middle. So would requesting a Micro Sim be seen as "upgrading" the handset?
Well giffgaff are certainly still offering unlimited data, and for considerably less than O2 as well. Their £10, £15 and £35 goodybags (monthly PAYG bundles) all include unlimited UK handset data (as well as unlimited texts and 100, 300 and unlimited UK x-net minutes respectively). Well worth a look if you are disappointed with O2 (and others) - and they run on O2 too so don't even need to worry about unlocking an O2 iPhone. Over time it will generally end up as cheap or cheaper than an O2 contract iPhone, even factoring in the higher PAYG iPhone price. All those people saying you're going to leave O2: do you really think the other operators are going to offer anything different? They're probably all breathing a sigh of relief that O2 have done this.
