These leaks are likely real, but wondering about the advantage of creating fakes...this calls for a face palm.

Have you noticed any litigation Apple might have been involved in lately? Like maybe the one asking for over 2 billion in damages because they say Samsung copied their designs? Apple is upset enough over copying of already released models, hence their ultra paranoid stance on pre-release secrecy.

Are you trying to say that Apple would create fake leaks so that Samsung can't copy it? The phone is released in 4 weeks, man. If Samsung wants to copy it, they can wait 4 weeks.

Really? Almost 90% of the videos i watch on Youtube are 16:9. No cameras in the last couple of years were sold with the aspect ratio of 4:3.

Probably just me watching old videos then, but I'm not really a Bieber/Twilight fan so most things I watch are from the 70's/80's. :)

I don't believe these are controlled leaks.
Maybe in an earlier time yes, but by Tim Cook saying the are doubling down on secrecy, it makes him look like an ineffective CEO. I doubt Apple would risk that at this delicate post Steve Jobs era.

It's almost certainly the mind boggling numbers of iPhones manufactured that's to blame. It's amazing they're able to keep the lid on as tightly as they have.

the lid on as tightly as they have.:D

That's like saying the Titanic took on a bit of water! ;)

I guess one thing worth noting is that those two sexy phones posted, are renders.

Stick one on top of the other and both the phones and the backgrounds line up EXACTLY. Like, exactly in the way that no human could ever position so accurately!

Apple's Pitfall

Hey Apple,

If you're going to accuse Samsung of copying you, you need to be prepared for Activison to sue you for copying the main character from Pitfall for the parts in your iPhone.:)

but Tim Cook said ... zZz

its one quote of one interview, what was he supposed to say? that hes gonna reduce security? duh

if parts leak, they leak

Something tells me Apple's not ultra-paranoid about ANYTHING.

Just seems crazy that that we have seen so many leaks. Never have we seen so many parts leaks from so many different sources.

Double security?

Personally I really hope that this is all misdirection and the real thing is way different, but I don't believe that will be the case.

My wife said she won't get a new one, she'll keep her 4S. She doesn't like the tall skinny look. I want a larger screen in all directions and have been stuck with this small screen for what....2 and a half years since larger screens have been normal. I'll be off to a different phone. It'll be strange having a different brand. I have had a iPhone since iPhone day and had every one on launch day.

Still waiting for the official reveal before making that decision.

Wow... you came damn close to hitting nearly everything I said in my post:

In B4 the non-believer - in denial - "Why a taller iPhone???!!!?!!!?" crowd shows up.

MacRumor crowd lately:
"Why a taller iPhone?"
"I am still hoping for a 4.3 wider iPhone!!!"
"It looks like the 4S! I want a dramatic redesign!"
"It doesn't look comfortable!"
"Tim is doubling down on secrecy! These are fakes!"
"Why is the headphone jack on the bottom? That's so stupid and asymmetrical!"
"The design is awful! I'll be sticking with my 3GS!"
"Steve NEVER would have allowed this!"
"I am getting an Android phone!"
"This is all some kind of trick to throw us off of the real design!"

Launch Day:

Also forgot, "These are FAKEs. Apple would have sent out C&D letters if they were real."

There are these amazing new inventions called tripods that attach to cameras so you can take the same composed photo over and over and over.

And then we have mods posting stuff like this!

Come on, please. There's no need for every bloody thread about the iPhone to include childish conspiracy theories about misinformation. If even the moderators can't keep the standards a bit higher, what chance do we have?

What standards? This is a rumor site full of individuals reacting their own way to said rumors. Everyone is free to post their beliefs, so long as they do not personally single out, offend, or break other rules put in place by the site owners.

Even if I don't agree with them, I usually respect an opposing opinion. I am adult enough to respect your opinion, without resorting to placing a label on you.

More On topic....

Corporations have used such tactics in the past, and if you assume apple is above that, people in your situation would be experiencing the intended level of expectation.

Corporations have also leaked misinformation to watch were it leaks from, in order to mole out squeaky individuals that they employ. Doubling down on secrecy may involve such tactics too.

Apple has the money to spend on fake prototyping to achieve such mole hunts, thus why I would not put it past them.

ImageThey moved the headphone jack probably because the smaller dock connector allows for more room on the bottom.

The dock connector will have all audio in/out so there's really no need for adding the jack when docked (if not stability) - it's just the annoyance of removing the headphones every time that seems like a careless design choice.

But it makes sense to put it near both speakers and microphone to cut down on long cables inside - I just hope the IOS 6 home screen rotates so this annoyance can be evened out.

But positioning two different phones identically is almost impossible. And chances are, one of those tiny pebbles would've moved at least a little bit between shots.

Think he needs to triple down next time

But how can u stop leaks when u make so many phones ?

----------

Also "Fake it has seams!"

Who is making many phones?

Btw apple worked on the idea of a taller iphone before but was not ok'ed,guess by whom  and the reason simple because it was uuuugly, the bezel of the iphone combined with a 4" 16:9 screen is like a facking skyscraper :D

If it is unfortunately or not, that will be seen on launch day. Pictures don't always benefit an object, only holding it, feel it and seeing live will you be able to know if it's a good piece of technology (in terms of design/construction).

I feel cramped by the width of the screen currently. If this design (one with the same screen width) is the final design, I don't see how holding and feeling the device will change the figure representing the width of the display or what I think about it.
