Does it understands the binary language of moisture vaporators, and can it speak Bocce?

Does it look "gold" to you on the inside? I would think the anodizing dip would cover all the aluminum.

The outside has a more matte surface (maybe sandblasted) than the inside which is just milled out so it looks different because of the way it reflects the light.

The only reason you wouldn't anodize one portion is if you needed bare aluminum for electrical contact (anodized aluminum does not conduct electricity).

It's easy to say it's ugly when we haven't even seen it.

So I will: It's UGLY. And I don't want to even see it.

I hope this isn't Jobs' Flower Power iMac all over again!

I would find this somewhat believable as part of a larger color range... otherwise, I really hope this is Apple finally stepping up to the task of planting fake parts and laughing to themselves! Or, some behind the scenes manufacturing detail like a coating or finish test.

But it could be real... there's a lot of smoke.

Years ago I had numerous Marantz amplifiers that were in champange colour brushed aluminium.

Really cool looking before everything audio came in black only.

If true, I guess it will sell by the shed load!

Thats not being racist. Its a cultural norm amongst many arabs and "urban" lifestyle folks. Gold is a status symbol to them.

Yes, but use your brain. Too many people here saying this is for the ME...when logic dictates if this gold phone is for anybody, it is for the Chinese. But it is fun, acceptable and bit funny in western culture to dis on the ME these days...and people here protest in mass to this idea because they do not want to accept the fact that ME racism is accepted...

Does anybody not follow the business side of Apple? THIS PHONE IS FOR THE CHINESE.

People need to stop thinking Apple is trying to cater to the US market. All of the rumors so far indicate that Apple is trying to establish themselves worldwide and expand.

The 5C will be incredibly successful outside of the US and if a gold/champagne 5S were to come out it would be HUGE in countries like China, Brazil and Argentina.

It's an incredibly smart business move and it will skyrocket their revenue.

I am seriously skeptical of this upcoming announcement on the 10th. If Apple really doesn't bring anything new besides a fingerprint sensor, a gold 5s, some tweaked specs and then plastic plastic plastic....they are going to be absolutely blasted in the media and tech community. I'm not saying they will be bad phones, because honestly I love my 5 and other than a LARGER SCREEN I have a feeling it will be darn near perfect after the iOS 7 upgrade....but, I do think this "announcement" could end up generating some seriously bad press for the company.

Guys, FFS. You do know there are many coloured iPhones already on the market?

There's no way to know if this is fake or original. I'm guessing its fake. Google Image "coloured iPhone 5" if you don't believe me.

Look at the gold one here:

I have a "grip." Do you think Apple made this for Turks, Saudis or UEA? Get a brain, this is for the Chinese, it is that simple.

Hmmm. You think it's racist to say that Saudis and Turkish people will like the phone, and yet you clearly have no problem implying that Chinese people will lap it up. See any problems there?

Suggesting that people from a certain culture will like a certain colour isn't racist. It's not racist when people say it about Saudis and Turks, and it not racist when you say it about the Chinese.

Whilst we're about it, the British like drinking tea, Germans make great cars, and Irish people like a good drink. Perhaps this post will get deleted for its racist tone!

So tacky and classless.

Yep, top-notch job fells. I'm sure Steve would've called you all ****-heads and thrown the phone down the hall.

I don't understand why people are all reacting now when we've seen leaked parts of the gold 5S for 3 months now.

Remember this?
This was posted on May 16th.

Everybody was making off-topic comments and not caring about the gold color.

Now, three months later, everybody's flipping crazy?
What the hell happened in between?
Is everybody just reading headlines and not paying attention to the article? Not even the pictures?

I understand that more sources have pointed to a gold 5S now which adds credibility, but I'm still surprised almost nobody even had the slightest reaction and were busy making the usual bad off-topic jokes that always end up in top comments.
