Wrong. The video feed was provided by Akamai and possible other partners.

I got a number of Akamai erorrs saying I did not have permission to access the server to see the feed.

Either the wrong feeds were given to Akamai or the Ge-location failed in a major way.

Its not a Jason feed issue where you are played the incorrect video with Chinese voiceover.

The trial began in early April and decision was delivered on May 2, 2014 and Samsung was instructed to pay US$119.6 million to Apple for smartphone patent violations, a compensatory amount that was termed a "big loss" by the Guardian "Technology" team—the media outlet described the victory as "pyrrhic."

The jury found that Samsung had infringed upon two Apple patents and Brian Love, assistant professor at the Santa Clara University law school, explained: "This amount is less than 10% of the amount Apple requested, and probably doesn't surpass by too much the amount Apple spent litigating this case." Apple's official response was a reaffirmation that "Samsung willfully stole" from the Cupertino, US-based corporation.

Great company!

I personally found the last few Samsung Ads (The Wall Hugger one etc.) to be pretty amusing and actually pretty good, however these ads are actually terrible.

Clearly rushed and poorly put together. Very cringe worthy.

On a side note, I look forward to reading the following exchange in this thread:

No different to the Mac vs PC ads

Those were a personification of computers, not attacking the users themselves

Whatever, they were the same

Happens every time on these boards

Samsung's marketing strategy of lampooning Apple comes across as desperate and sad.

Maybe if they tried talking up their own products (which are very good in their own right) instead of talking down the competition, they could build the same sort of hype around their product releases.

They are just coping Apple here. You will find the I'm a Mac and I'm a PC ads were very successful for apple. The Samsung copy factory is replicating even Apple's advertings campaigns, its just that Apple fans love to give it but cannot take it ;)

Of course at the end it does not matter, the iPhone 6 will hot a new record in sales.

In any case, the Apple keynote is very important for future Apple sales so any problems with it should be fixed so it will not happen again.

I don't know, I've watched a lot of live-streamed Apple events and almost every one of them has been problematic. This one probably the worst as it was bad from the start and never really got better, but they always seem to have problems with the stream dropping out, dropping down to a lower bandwidth, low/stuttering frame rate, dropping audio, skipping back to the beginning, etc.

Basically I'm just resigned to "Try it, if it's f-ed up, just shut it off and wait until they archive it a few hours later". The archived version usually plays perfectly from start to finish.

It's smart, use apples launch to advertise a product that is crap. It attracts the type of people that are anti-normal

i still find these funny. if you can't look past that it's samsung and just enjoy it for what it is...you seriously have emotional problems when it comes to apple

people need to lighten up and stop taking it so personally. none of you founded apple, none of you work for apple, most of you don't even have a stake (stock ownership) of apple. as i said before, lighten up

"which phone is yours? they all have nicks on the top" --> i'm an iPhone 5 owner and i found this funny b/c it's true

Not sure if Samsung can grasp this...

I'm not sure Samsung can grasp this but here it is... when you purchase something from a company, you are identifying with that company on some level. Generally people who purchase from Apple, acquire or expect to have some level of social association with Apple. The Apple persona is smart, trendy, young, etc. Maybe a bit cocky, but generally trying to help others.

The Samsung persona is sort of like that kid in high school that is constantly trying to be like the other cool kids and is loud and obnoxious. Nobody really likes him, except the other people who don't fit in with the hip and socially adjusted crowd. This kid cheats on all his tests and claims he can perform feats of athletics and sexual prowess beyond anyone else's expectations.

But really, he's just a sore loser. A sad, sad, sad waste of a being.

Now... who would you want to associate with?

SO...... what did you think of the Ads?

Not sure if Samsung is really poking fun. . .

Or just mad because no one knew about their event the week before, hence traffic for their stream was probably better?

:roll eyes:

Maybe if they spent more time advertising for there phone features, people would. . . Nah people still wouldn't care.

More Apple promo though! The impact :apple:

They deserve this. Biggest technology company on the planet and they can't seem to manage live streaming. They've had so many years to get it right and fail hard every time.

It only took a single post.

The first one was just plain stupid. The average consumer doesn't even know what an Apple Live Stream event is.

The second one I'm sure the average person will "get the point" that Apple finally has a larger iPhone. Then again, the commercials do absolutely nothing to point out why a Samsung phone would be a better purchase than an Apple iPhone.

But I'm sure it makes the SamSheep happy, warm and fuzzy. :D

I find it the opposite. I use both apple products and an android phone currently. I find apple/iphone users always tell people who use Android phones that they are cheap garbage. I find most Android users will admit an iphone is a good smartphone its just more walled with ios and has less features.

The only thing android users every say is that it "Isn't apple."

They think they are so much higher because they don't use an apple product...

To be fair, Apple was streaming to like 500x more people than Samsung have ever streamed their keynotes to.

Unfortunately, the number of viewers was not a factor in this. The problems originated at the source. Multiple audio streams being patched together? This totally felt like amateur hour at Apple... I hope to never see that happen again.

I am a HUGE Apple fan but every single one of these is spot on. Sad but true.

Haha, I'm a huge Apple fan but I was laughing. People take these things too seriously. I'm also an iSheep but I don't care. If the grass was greener at Samsung I'd eat their grass. But, Samsung makes crap and the ecosystem is a joke. Doesn't mean we can't laugh at the commercials though. :D

EDIT: I wish we could make a Samsung commercial called "Raining Tears" when the iPhone 6 sales figures start coming out. ;)

:apple:

SO...... what did you think of the Ads?

1) The ads are used to keep their client base smug
2) They hope to take some of Apple's users away
3) You can't really poke at fun at someone when you stole (proved in court) their idea.
4) They are trying to get some of the attention

i find most of these samsung parody ads hilarious
especially that one for the iPhone 5 and people waiting in line. that was great

agreed - people need to lighten up
