First Apple did not invent touch screen phones. Secondly do you think that only Apple should be able to release touch screen phones?

Are you pretending like you can't see the point made by that picture???????
Lol, bit of a stretch to even pretend like the poster thought "touch screen phones" was the thing copied... I mean, it's pretty visually obvious, did you even glance at it??!!

Say what you will about Samsung, but the Note is a great phone and apple really has not innovated with their phones in a LONG while. They basically have been playing catchup to Android in features and size. IOS8 has added "NEW" features that android owners have been enjoying for quite some time now.

I see more and more people using samsung phones now on my commute to work in DC so apparently Samsung is doing quite well. And I will be buying a Note 4, but I will also be buying a iPad Air 2. Right now, apple is still the best when it comes to tablets (for now).

I always like to bring up the fact that the iPad came out, and then every other company, including samsung, started making these tablets.

I think it's fairer to say Apple made tablets popular rather than they came up with tablets. Samsung absolutely made 'Phablets' popular, whether they first came out with bigger screens is debateable.

Screen size

I give Samsung this one alot on this site criticized them and now Apple fans are acting like Apple invented the Phablet calling it a plus instead of Phablet I ordered one because I love apple products I also have a Lumia 1520 looking forward to the note 4 edge good for the economy and technology.

Exactly!

Hmmmm

Makes absolutely no difference who was first to market with the larger screen. I encourage competition.

I use Apple devices because they work better for me, and I preordered the 6+ because I wanted a large screen. If Apple hadn't come out with one, I was going to consider the Galaxy.

I'm not beholden to Apple, and choose the device which makes the most sense to me. I couldn't care less if Apple came out with the first fingerprint sensor, or better camera, etc., etc. What matters to me is the evolution of the devices, and the bar that is set by each company with each generation of device. If Samsung's market share cause Apple to work a bit harder to improve their devices, or offer more options to customers, I'm all for it.

I do think it's tacky for Samsung to show ads like this, but I also hated the "I'm a Mac" campaign ads. Thought they were silly, low-class, and embarrassing.

I have and I do. When I had iPhone I have never experiences so much app crashing and phone lagging. Android is still the same clustered platform. And that coming from a flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 with great specs that makes some fandroids go banana..... because to them that's all it matters. Why did I get the galaxy S5? Bigger screen and great display. Well, never again now.... it's going on eBay next month and me back to the device I can rely on.

Which ones are crashing ? My wife has the S5, it has never crashed. It has a lot of Samsung bloatware, but you can uninstall pretty much all of it.

Dave, give it up already. It's a lost battle. Samsung copied Apple and you can't cover sh+t with water because it stinks even more.

Take the Samsung F700 for example.

Apple's lawyers fought against Samsung showing it, claiming that, "Going into the design history of the F700 in particular is extremely prejudicial because the risk is high that the jury will consider the F700 as evidence of independent development, invalidity, or non-infringement regardless of whether or not Samsung encourages them to do so. "

Well duh.

If Apple truly believed they were in the right, why would they be so afraid of letting juries see prior art? The answer is, they had already lost design and patent trials in Europe when such evidence was shown. They also lost an injunction request in the US partly because the appellate judges DID have access to everything (unlike the jury).

Samsung attacks Apple, so what? And Apple made fun of Windows PC's in those famous ads for years. That's what companies have been doing to each other in ads for decades. Why is everyone's panties in a bunch?

I'll say this as an apple fan: Samsung has a point. Apple has done nothing new with the new iPhone and what Samsung has done before.

To be fair, Samsung rarely does much with phones either, right? They're still square. You still tap an icon to get to an app. That app performs some bit of functionality (you hope).

Yes, they've had big phones. Yes, they've thrown in this and that for the hardware checklist crowd. Yes, they've thrown in gimmicky (if not actually usable) functionality that plays well to a certain mindset. And for whatever reason, people confuse all of this with innovation. I get it that in some ways it is, but there are always other considerations when you come up with what you think of as a better mousetrap. When Samsung does "new" stuff, they don't always think about it like they should (in their haste to move to market) and the implementation leaves a bit to be desired. Apple certainly doesn't always get it right, but they do at least spend considerable effort to solve the user problem, which I appreciate.

they could go a long way in improving these ads by not having such an annoying narrator.

perhaps not go the ego route of tim cook but anything is better than this guy

as for this ad they had a message but its lost in the childish way its conveyed. almost like a message on here

Here's the thing about 'innovation.'

I know loads of people with the Note 2/3, the Mega, etc. I asked every one of them specifically WHY they bought those phones. To a man/woman, they said the SAME EXACT THING:

"I wanted a bigger screen."

That's it. Did they say anything about pixel count? AMOLED? Onboard or expandable memory? NFC? BT 3.0 or 4.0?

No. They wanted a bigger screen.

So FINALLY Apple does EXACTLY what the entire world wants - releases a bigger screen - and all the geeks say "Yeah but WEEE'VEE had NFC/high pixel counts/expandable memory/etc./etc. for a year or two now."

So what? As I continue to tell my friends, yes, a Kia Optima has more/flashier features than a Camry...but come back in 300K miles or more and tell me which one has been more problem-free.

For me, undoubtedly it's been Apple. I've owned probably 15 or 30 different Macs/iDevices, and with ONE exception (the iPhone 5 - the whole aluminum QC thing) they've ALL been problem free. When they HAVE had issues, Apple has stepped up to the plate and gone above and beyond EVERY time.

I'll admit that had Apple NOT released a large screen, I'd own a Lumia 1520 or a Galaxy S5 or a Note 3 right now; but as reliable as the iDevices have been, and considering that they DID release one, I could care less about who has the faster rate of innovation. What I care about is functionality and reliability, and Apple delivers on those.

But you're not forced to buy anything you don't want to. You chose to buy a larger iPhone. You could have chosen something else if you wanted to.

Unfortunately for people who like small phones it is pretty much impossible to get the newest and best tech in a <4.5 inch screen. I think Sony might be the only one to offer it. I am excited for a larger 4.7" iphone but I know many people who wanted a 4" iphone 6 to replace their 5/5s.

I still think Samsung's timing sucks. You go after competitors from a position of strength. They should have been making these adds when Apple only had the 4' screen. Go after Apple when just as they are about to bring out their 5.5' screen is silly. They had 2 years to produce their ad and they waited until 6/6+ launch week.
