The reason why Apples servers crashed is to be blamed on U2, not people trying to buy iPhones; and the fact people queue up outside Apple stores says it all! When I buy a phone, I want a great price, great feature spec and the ability to buy online. I don't queue outside on the pavement for a week to hand over wads of cash for outdated technology.

I spent exactly 20 minutes buying the phone. (Granted, I did it at 2 a.m. LOL but still - it took me 20 minutes.)

As far as feature spec, I don't care about a 'great price' and the best feature spec. I care about the best quality device and a decent feature spec. My 2000 4Runner wasn't the lowest price SUV I could find, but I'll be damned if it hasn't been beat to hell, has 200K+ miles - and STILL looks FAR newer than any domestic vehicle we've owned.

And whilst we're talking about plastic back covers; its VERY funny how everyone hated the back of the new iPhone (lines) ... now its a thing of beauty. Laughable!

I never hated it; I thought it odd that the camera protrudes a bit, but it protrudes about exactly as much....as the thickness of the case it will spend the next X number of years in. *shrug* It's a nonissue.

And its stupid comments like 'you're holding it wrong', patronisng videos from Jonny 'Creepy' Ives, old technology being rehashed in a shiny new package at stupidly high prices and silly Apple fanboy comments that'll ensure I'll never buy an iPhone again (and its going that way with iMac too!)

Why are you here on this website?

Here's the thing about 'innovation.'

I know loads of people with the Note 2/3, the Mega, etc. I asked every one of them specifically WHY they bought those phones. To a man/woman, they said the SAME EXACT THING:

"I wanted a bigger screen."

That's it. Did they say anything about pixel count? AMOLED? Onboard or expandable memory? NFC? BT 3.0 or 4.0?

No. They wanted a bigger screen.

'THE' only reason I am going to purchase the 6+ is the bigger screen. I could care less about all the other features. I was actually going to get a Galaxy before they announced the bigger size so Apple timed their bigger screen release right. I think market research told Apple to make bigger screens before it's too late.

Marketing 101: The market leader will always be subject to "comparison ads" by competitors and they themselves should never engage in "comparison ads".

To wit - Apple used the "I'm a Mac" campaign to target Microsoft, especially when Microsoft stumbled so hard with Vista, to draw customers away from Microsoft to Apple. They don't run those ads anymore, because at least in some sectors of the personal computer market, Apple actually dominates (e.g., high-end laptops).

But now you see Microsoft targeting Apple with their ads for the Surface. Tacit admission that Apple is now the market leader in laptops and tablets.

And so the worm turns...

Which ones are crashing ? My wife has the S5, it has never crashed. It has a lot of Samsung bloatware, but you can uninstall pretty much all of it.

Exactly, that argument is old and inaccurate. My Note 3 has been running strong, no crashes, great battery life. However, I recalled in the past when I owned an iPhone a number of times where I had to reset because of problems. My 3rd generation iPad is rock solid but it even at times crashes. But my Note 3 gives me no problems. Best phone I have owned in quite a while. And as an artist, I love the S-Pen. I really wish apple would cut the crap and release a good pen for the iPad at least.

I've never been much of a Samsung fan and have never associated them with quality products just more middle of the range stuff, i did make the mistake of buying a Samsung Galaxy S2, never again.

I would not buy their products on principle now, as a company their true colours are starting to shine through. So when i need a new washer, fridge freezer, tv or what ever else they make, I'm automatically going to discount them, sc*m they are.

Samsung is not a competitor of apple. Samsung competes with one or few products with apple products. Apple is much wider, much broad company than Samsung. I believe if it was not for that parts that apple is purchasing from Samsung. We would not hear about them.

Samsung sells things like cheap fridges... I have a cheap Samsung fridge that is okay. For phones and computers? Apple.

Samsung pay people to criticize Apple products in the comment sections :(

Are you pretending like you can't see the point made by that picture???????
Lol, bit of a stretch to even pretend like the poster thought "touch screen phones" was the thing copied... I mean, it's pretty visually obvious, did you even glance at it??!!

Even more damming than those pics of phones were the internal Samsung emails that essentially said we have to copy apple and be more like apple. Then the software and apps directly imitating the look and feel of iOS. No other company went so far to copy apple. Having said that I want to thank Samsung. Without them we would likely still be using 3.5" iPhones.

Truly horrific

I am so angry at Samsung right now. This ad is the worst thing that has happened to me in my whole life!

It's very own Gallery app to start with. Aside the fact that it takes ages to open ( Yes, great specs ) it never plays the video it records with the camera without frequently stooping, so you got to keep hitting play. After doing that several times it closes down itself. GoPro, Spotify, Netflix, RunKeeper are the ones I use almost daily and I have experienced crashes and all of them.

And then I have the other issue which I believe it may be hardware issue, when I want to wake the screen it doesn't wake even though the back and multitasking (left and right) do illuminate! And then it takes sometimes minutes to have it on, during this time the device gets really hot.

I have been to Samsung repair centre and thy have told me I need to send it away for few days to get repaired , meaning I would not have a phone during that time. To give them some credit, they were not to slow to replace the mini USB cover (which also did come off and it's something your wife need to look at because sooner or later will it happen) so they did it for around 2 hours. They said USB cover coming off was a common issue.

Anyway.... these are only few reasons why I tend to stick with Apple.

Bloomberg is reporting that Apple presold 4 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus the first 24 hours.

Nope. Nope they weren't. Apple didn't say a peep. The blame for that lies squarely with the media and unrealistic consumers who think revolutions/inventions should happen every 6 months.

Then get disappointed when Apple has the audacity to not meet those ridiculous expectations.

This is not entirely true. All tough it was merely a rumor that was been mentioned on macrumors.com that Apple was working on sapphire glass it was also the truth since Apple was exploring the possibilities and used sapphire glass on Apple's Watch in this matter.

Of course it's Apple's clear right to abandon ideas if things doesn't work out as intended but it's fair to state that people where expecting sapphire glass to be on the iPhone 6.

But despite sapphire glass there are some other disappointments. It's Apple's DNA, the phrase: we don't want to be the first but the best! And now the iPhone 6 is simply not the best smartphone out there on various technical aspects when compared to other smarthphones.

That's not a really bad thing since the iPhone 6 is still a darn good smarthphone. But I, and with me most people, was really looking forward to see Apple moving up the boundaries for smartphone industry and instead I can only conclude that new standards are not been reached by Apple. Instead the phone is a bit faster and a bit bigger and yes with a new iOS8 it should work fine. But for that prize you can now buy another phone with on various aspects better specs and save even money.

Explanation: High quality. Products that not only have features, but features that customers actually use. Store employees that will help you with problems instead of fobbing you off.

And may I ask which Samsung phones are using a 64 bit processor? Which Samsung phones use permanent disk encryption to keep your data safe? Which Samsung phones can be remotely disabled when they are stolen?

Typical ************.

i think you mean expensive , cheaply built fridges.

i went to my father-in-laws and he was chucking all his freezer food in the trash and i was like whats going on....he said the freezer was left open for 10 minutes a crack and there is no defroster in the samsung fridge so in the morning everything was warm and garbage.

great deal for a 1500$ fridge.

How do you know its not the best when it hasn't even been released yet? Best is subjective but you've never even seen in one person so how do you make that conclusion?
